Chapter 1

"OH my gosh I can't believe that I am finally done with college." Ember said walking into her apartment. Ember hated school and she could not wait to graduate from college but she knew that she wasn't going to rest after graduating from college, she had to go job hunting.She entered her bedroom. She had a long day, her family took her out to have lunch and celebrate her graduation, and she might have used up all her energy. She decided to take a shower so she can finally get to bed and rest. .

After taking a shower she walked out of the bathroom she found her phone ringing on the bed, she looked at the caller ID and saw that it was her boyfriend Dean whom she's been dating for four years. She answered the call. "Hey babe." She said drying her hair with her pink towel. 

"Hey... Is it okay if we meet up now?" He asked. From the sound of his voice Ember could tell that something was not right. 

"Uhm yeah, I'll just get dressed, so where should we meet?"She asked. 

"We can meet at the park, since it is just a two minute walk from your apartment." He said. Ember looked at the clock and saw that it was 8pm.

"Uhm isn't it a little late to meet up at a park, you know how dangerous it is to go out at this hour, maybe we check a restaurant that is still open." She said, 

"Don't worry, we'll be safe besides I have bodyguards so we'll be fine." He said. 

"Well okay, I'll see you at the park." She said, She hung up the phone, she sighed in frustration. She just hoped that something wasn't really wrong because the last thing that she wants on this good day is some bad news. She walked into her walk-in closet and she picked out a blue dress with thin straps and grey flip-flops. She walked out of her apartment after getting dressed. She made sure to check twice after locking it. 

She entered the park and she spotted Dean's white SUV. She quickly walked towards it and she saw Dean inside and he was seated inside. They both got out of the car. "Hey Ember, it's great that you are here, we've been waiting." Dean said. 

"Yeah I am here, so what did you want to talk about?" She asked. 

"Ember... I don't know if there is a nicer way to put this bjt I'll tell you anyway. Let's break up." He said and Ember looked at him. 

"Wait, what do you mean by that?" Ember asked. 

"I don't love you anymore." He said calmly. 

"What? You are joking right... Right?" She asked, letting out a nervous laugh. 

"No I am not joking I mean it." He said. 

"What, but why? We were fine this morning. Why would you want us to break up now?" She asked. 

"Like I said I don't have feelings for you anymore and I love someone else and she's pregnant with my child." He said. 

"Pregnant? So what you are trying to say to me right now is that you have been cheating on me with this person?" She asked, still not willing to believe what she had just heard. 

"Y-yes. Ember I hope that you can understand and we can both part ways peacefully." He said. 

"O-okay, it's fine. Congratulations, you are going to be a dad. Wow, I wish you guys a happy and long life together." She said, She could feel her heart breaking into a million pieces. She looked up at him, hoping that he would tell her that he was joking but he just kept quiet. 

"Good luck with your relationship... I have to go." She said walking away, she wanted to hear him call out her name and tell her that it was just a joke, but he didn't. Her day started off well but it ended off with heart being dumped, by the man that she truly loved, life can be really unfair. As soon as Dean left Ember sat down on a bench that was under a tree. She didn't care how late it was anymore. She knew that it was dangerous for her to be alone in a park late at night, but she didn't care anymore. She took out her phone and she called her two best friends, Diana and Sophie and she told them where she was and she asked them to come over.

After twenty minutes both Sophie and Diana arrived at the park, and they spotted Ember sitting under a tree with her knees over her chin and she seemed to be crying. They both rushed to where she was seated. "Ember, what's wrong?"Diana asked. Sitting next to her, Sophie continued to stand.

"Is it your mother again? That woman is more annoying than your boyfriend.''Sophie said, shaking her head, her words only made Ember. Ember's mother was abusive abd controlling, and greedy,she wanted people to only listen to her and nobody else. She was already able to control her husband, that is why whenever Ember or her siblings would complain to him about their mother he would just ignore them or tell them that she just wants what's best for them, their father loved them a lot but maybe he loved his wife more. Her mother just wanted to wrap everyone around her finger and if she did not get what she wanted, then there would be hell to pay. That is why Ember moved out as soon as she turned eighteen. 

"Sophie, now it's not the time, we are supposed to comfort her, not add salt to her wounds,"Diana said. 

"How can we comfort her without knowing what it is that is making her cry,"Sophie said. 

"Maybe if you stopped talking then she would tell us why she was crying."Diana said. Sophie rolled her eyes. 

After a few minutes Ember lifted her head wiping her tears. She sat up straight . "Guy's can you please stop arguing.''Ember said. Sophie and Diana turned their attention to her.  

"Now will you tell us why you are crying like a baby?"Sophie asked.

"You that you are terrible when it comes to these things. Why do you have to be the one who keeps on making other people's situations much worse than they already are?"Ember asked. 

"Just tell us why you are crying. It better be a good enough reason for me to leave a good dick and come here.''Sophie said. Diana shook her head.

"Dean dumped me,"She said, Both Sophie and Diana looked at each other and then they looked at her. This was a shock for Diana, but not Sophie.
