CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

ALEX

I was surprised when I saw James together with his mom, and she was smiling at me. I haven't had so much encounter with her, but I knew I needed to act respectfully even though I didn't like her son.

I walked up to her and greeted her. She called me nicely, and I sensed that she was different from her son.

This was one more thing James had that I didn't.

I knew I was popular, and that was probably the reason James's mom was familiar with me. We exchanged pleasantries, and James just stood beside watching us.

I could see his fist folded and the way he stared at me with a scorn. I tried to smile more, just to get him even more pissed.

"You look exactly like your father," she praised.

I smiled.

"He did very well in the business world, and you are taking over from him. I am impressed with what you're doing."

I nodded.

"Thank you so much."

"I wish that you could work together with James," she said.

I turned to look at James, but he looked away immediately.
