CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

SALLY

Staying the second day at home was not funny. But of course, why would I be at the office? I didn't want to be where I would be reminded of my predicament.

I had given up on everything. I walked out of my room that morning and entered the kitchen to get a few drinks for my fridge.

Alex was there for some reason. I had bumped into Alex more than fifty times since yesterday, and it hadn't been funny at all.

"You will have to wait outside until I leave before you get in here," he told me.

"I've given that instruction to you so many times, too," I replied. "How can you expect me to respect you when you lack respect for me?"

"This is my house!"

I scoffed.

"Our house."

I walked into the kitchen and picked up a fee drinks. I placed them in a tray and began to arrange them properly. It was still very early in the morning, and the maids had not begun to make breakfast yet.
