An unexpected reconciliation

CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE

ALEXANDER

I woke up the next morning with a migraine. I decided to dress up and get to work even though I still had a hangover from the excess alcohol I had taken the previous night.

I remembered Sally holding me and leading me upstairs. I also remembered apologising to her, and I sighed when I realised that I didn't mention the reason I kept apologising.

I quickly dressed up and walked downstairs. I was shocked to see Sally setting the dining table.

"Let's have breakfast together," she urged me.

I looked behind and around me. To my surprise, I was the only one in the sitting room. And, yes! She was talking to me because she was staring right at me.

"Are you for real?" I asked her.

She nodded and beckoned on me to come over.

I walked over to the table, and the aroma of freshly made soup filled my nose.

"It'd help clear your head. I'm sure you still have, and that's why I made a hangover soup for you."

I smiled and nodded.

"My head hurts so badly."
