JAMES

I was scrolling through my phone aimlessly, with my legs crossed. My butt and couch rested on the couch as I watched my mom and the event planners out things in other.

I had nothing to do online. I just wanted to escape chores.

"James," my mom called for the fiftieth time today.

I turned to face her without saying anything.

"Do you need the VIP table at the right side of the hall or left side?" She asked me.

"Left side," I replied carelessly and continued pressing my phone.

My mom went ahead with the event planners. Her phone soon began to vibrate, and she quickly picked it up.

"Hello."

She listened quietly for a while, and a smile broke through her lips.

"Maybe you would come over later and pick more of the cards. I have three more guests that I want to invite."

She soon hung up and faced me.

"How many invites are on your list?" She asked me.
