Chapter Forty-eight

She gave him an eye roll. "Some ego?"

"Yes. A little ego."

"My ego is not little, you know. It's quite big" Eve said and fixed her seat belt.

Henry smiled. "I should have left you in the rain instead." He teased her.

"If you didn't persist, I would have still been there having my peace."

"Having your peace? Under this rain?" Henry shook his head.

"Did you see the way you ran into the car when the showers became more intense?"

Eve smiled and shook her head. She noticed that Henry was in a cheerful mood so she decided to probe him.

She cleared her throat. "So every day you come to the office at 9 am and return at 4 pm?" she began.

"Well, it's not always that way. Sometimes I go home at night when I have a lot of work to do and on other days, I close early. Sometimes I go home before 2 pm so it all depends on the work at hand." Henry explained and took a sharp turn.

"Well, it's obvious you are a busy man. I guess the only time you get to spend with your kids is weekends." Eve said with
