Chapter Fifty-Five

Eve stood before her large dressing mirror and pressed her eyes for a moment. Yesterday, she was absent from work and couldn't stop thinking about what Henry's reaction will be today when she eventually shows up.

After she sent a slap across his face the previous day, she rushed to Olivia's office to tell her about the ordeal. Olivia reprimanded her for the extreme act but also lauded her bravery.

She told Olivia that she was scared of turning up the next day and Olivia had advised her to take her time. Today, she was ready to meet Henry and she planned to act as if nothing happened. As far as she was concerned, It was Henry who insulted her therefore she needed not feel guilty for retaliating.
