Missing child

Lana pov

I settled onto the couch alongside the young boy, who was engrossed in playing video games with me. The emotions I experienced in his presence were difficult to articulate, especially considering the disparity between our feelings.

"No, Lana, you've ruined it!" he exclaimed, his expression contorting in dismay as I inadvertently pressed a green button on the phone. "You shouldn't have," he murmured.

I sensed the frustration that arises when one's efforts are thwarted by another.

"I apologize, Bryan; I was merely attempting to assist," I responded, my voice barely rising above a whisper as I nibbled on a bowl of popcorn.

"My mother always talks about getting me more toys, but she never actually does," he remarked.

I rolled my eyes upward, his words striking a painful chord and evoking memories of my own child. I realized I needed to locate the orphanage and reclaim my child.
