FIRST DEAL WITH HIM

Lana pov

I have come to the realization that I must provide Donovan's company with an opportunity, primarily due to their son; however, I wish to conceal the underlying motive behind my decision. As I stood in front of the mirror, I reflected on this matter, acknowledging that it is a thought that may linger for the next twenty millennia. I twirled playfully, admiring my reflection from behind.

After a few minutes, I completed my transformation. “Oops…” I let out a small snort. Finally, I applied my lip gloss, blowing kisses to my reflection in the mirror as I whispered softly.

Upon arriving at the office, it was evident that everyone was deeply engrossed in their daily tasks, underscoring the busy schedule we maintained with Donovan's firm and several other reliable associates. "Good morning, Mrs. Lana, you look lovely as always," one of the staff members remarked, her gaze fixed on me while she organized some files on her desk.

"Good morning, Jessy," I responde

She's heartless Sarah pov"Lana, are you there?" Bryan inquired calmly, a smile directed at her that appeared somewhat out of place. I found myself questioning how he even knew her name as I observed his focused attention on her. She did not extend a warm greeting; instead, she offered a smirk to a young boy who seemed completely unaware of the situation. "You are quite arrogant, Lana; the boy is merely showing interest in you as any child would," I remarked, my voice tinged with frustration. Her expression shifted to one of distress as she rose from her seat, yet rather than escalating the situation, Bryan intervened. "Mrs. Lana, I hope we are not causing any inconvenience. My mother and I can leave if our presence is unwelcome," he stated gently, his soft voice cutting through my anger like ice. I contemplated the urge to confront her, perhaps even to pull her hair in frustration. "Bryan, dear," I called to the young boy, whose eyes were welling with tears. "We will be departin

A BUSINESS TRIP WITH MY EX HUSBAND Lana povThe receptionist informed me, "Ma'am, we only have one room available for both of you," her tone dripping with insincerity. I struggled to comprehend the absurdity of her statement. "Listen, he’s not my husband; we’re here for a business meeting. Find us another place," I retorted, casting a glance toward Donovan, who was preoccupied with a phone call to Sarah. She seemed to be the one who could help us.I placed my hands on the counter, waiting for her to check the room listings, but she merely raised her eyebrows and shook her head. "I’m sorry, ma'am, but this is the only available room," she replied. Frustrated, I called out to Donovan."Donovan, we need to book another hotel; we have a deal to finalize tomorrow," I snapped, glaring at him in anger. He hesitated before putting his phone away.He gestured toward me, and I felt a wave of disgust. "What’s the issue, Lana?" he asked, reaching out to touch me, but I recoiled, my anger boilin

I WANT HER, BUT I CAN'T HAVE HERDonovan povI could sense my arousal intensifying, the desire overwhelming as I envisioned her figure. The thought of being with her consumed my mind, and I found myself fixated on Lana. I regretted my previous behavior, assuring her it was unintentional. My heart raced with anticipation and longing. To be honest, I would go to great lengths to be with her tonight, even if it meant she had to reconsider our arrangement. As I reached for the doorknob, ready to turn it, the door suddenly swung open. Her eyes flashed with anger as she brushed past me, her breath warm and commanding. "What were you trying to do?" she demanded, fixing me with a piercing gaze. I was at a loss for words, unable to explain my intentions. I stood there, captivated by her flawless complexion, realizing how much she had transformed; she was even more stunning than I had ever imagined. Lana's gaze sharpened, her jaw clenched as she folded her arms in a defensive posture. The atmo

Her instincts Lana povIt's been three weeks since my return from the disastrous business trip with Donovan. What should have been a routine work engagement spiraled into chaos, and I was convinced it would be the last I traveled with him. “Did you sleep with him?” the question sliced through my thoughts, cursing my heart to race. She shouldn't have just asked that. “I have this feeling you were involved with him, even if it was just a brief encounter- nothing at all?”Her intensity felt like a spotlight, and I struggled to look her in the eyes. My heart raced as memories of the night surge back- the almost kisses, the way he had stormed to me in the bathroom. I desperately tried to suppress those thoughts.“No, nothing like that occured.” I lied, pulling the duvet tighter around myself to shelf my face from her relentless scrutiny. In a sudden burst of anger she yanked the duvet away, her fury evident. “I'm talking to you, Lana! You slept with your ex-husband, didn't you?” Her voic

THE BIRTHDAY PREPARATION Lana povI shifted through my wardrobe, trying to find a dress that matched Caroline's, as she had insisted we wear the same color. Frustrated, I stumbled into the wardrobe, feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by the choices. I muttered to myself about the monotony of wearing the same color dress, grabbing one and playfully putting it in my mouth. My eyes closed as I contemplated my outfit options. "Choose something simple, Lana; this isn't a wedding," she advised, glancing at her wristwatch, which she had been struggling to fasten. "Can you help me with this, Lana?" she asked, leaning closer while still focused on the watch. Unbeknownst to her, my luggage was on the floor, and she accidentally stepped on a piece of clothing, causing her to lose her balance and fall. "Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed, rushing to catch her, but she had already landed, her knees firmly on the ground."Did you set me up?" she inquired, narrowing her eyes at me with suspicion. I couldn't

WHY'S HE ENTANGLED WITH HERCaroline povI quickly pushed open the restroom door, feeling an urgent need to relieve myself. My mind was clouded with the stress of drinking and engaging in meaningless conversations with the random men that Donovan called friends. "Hey there, can I join you in the restroom?" a guy with curly hair asked, his voice filled with determination. Anger surged within me as I noticed Lana in tears over a birthday that had nothing to do with her, making me want to confront the man at the bathroom entrance. "Get away from me, you jerk!" I growled, my fists clenched tightly. I staggered toward the restroom door, leaning against the frame for support. "Oh goodness, I'm so exhausted," I said calmly, attempting to regain my composure. Just then, I heard a voice behind me. "Miss, this is the men's restroom; you should use the one across the hall." The deep voice resonated in my mind. I turned to see who was speaking. "So...," I sighed, continuing, "I apologize, sir,

suspension Sarah povTwo days have passed since the birthday celebration, and I am still preoccupied with Bryan's feelings for Lana. Initially, it was a pleasant distraction for Lana, who seemed unfazed by his attention. However, he recently rejected my request to dance with him, opting instead to dance with Lana. This raises suspicions—have they been having secret conversations? I glance over at Donovan, who is absorbed in his laptop, focused solely on work and seemingly indifferent to the dynamics within our home. I called out to him, but he ignored me, still upset about my dance with my ex. While it was an enjoyable moment, there was nothing significant between my ex and me. "Donovan, please listen," I said calmly, wrapping the duvet cover around my chest. Donovan finally lifted his gaze from the laptop, his eyes narrowing as he assessed my unkempt appearance. "What’s happening?" he inquired gruffly, his tone still tinged with the coolness from our previous argument."It concern

A SLEEPOVER Lana pov“It's absurd for you to perceive me as friendly! I'm a true witch!” I exclaimed, bouncing on my bed, my heart racing with exhilaration as I focused on my call with Caroline. Yes, aside from business calls, Caroline's calls are my priority."Lana, are you there?" she inquired, her voice low and urgent, fading to the point where I could barely hear her. "Caroline?" I called out calmly, gradually ceasing my jumping as the doorbell rang repeatedly, capturing my attention. The intriguing part was that I had heard the doorbell ringing while on the call with Caroline, echoing on my end as well.Could she have come over without informing me? I glanced at the wall clock. It was past 6 in the evening; perhaps it was the delivery person, I thought, adjusting my silky nightwear.I let out a sigh.Rubbing the fatigue from my eyes, I yawned loudly, struggling to find my slippers beside my bed cabinet. My phone vibrated against my arm, and I smiled upon seeing it was Carolin

The Truth Unfolds Lana’s POV I sat in the living room, the weight of everything pressing down on me like a heavy blanket. My mind spun with all the revelations from the past few days—Leo’s betrayal, Sarah’s twisted games, and the danger we were all in. It felt like the walls were closing in on me, and I had no idea who to trust anymore. Donovan stood by the window, his face unreadable as he stared out into the night. The silence between us was thick, and I knew there was more he hadn’t told me yet. I could feel it in the air, a tension that seemed to tighten with every passing second. Finally, he spoke, his voice low and strained. "Lana, there’s something I need to tell you. Something I should have told you a long time ago." I looked up at him, my heart pounding. "What is it, Donovan? I don’t think I can handle any more surprises." He turned to face me, his eyes filled with a mix of guilt and determination. "Remember when we thought I couldn’t have children? When we believed I w

Leo was still wrestling with the stranger on the floor, and I knew I had to act fast. “Get off him!” I shouted, hoping to break through the chaos. Leo glanced up, his face smeared with sweat and determination. “Lana, I can handle this! Just—” But before he could finish, the stranger threw him to the side. Leo hit the wall with a loud thud, and I winced at the sound. “Now, where were we?” the man said, grinning menacingly. I tightened my grip on the knife, trying to steady my racing thoughts. Who was this guy? Why had he come here? “Get away from him!” I yelled, stepping forward, ready to protect Leo at all costs. The Storm Lana’s POV My heart raced as I looked from Donovan to Leo, who was blocking our only way out. The air was thick with tension, and the darkness felt like it was closing in on me. I had never been so terrified in my life. “Lana, listen to me!” Donovan said urgently, his eyes fixed on me. “We can’t let him get to you. We need to stick together.” “Together?” Leo sneered, stepping forward. “Do you think that will save you? You’re both just pawns in my game.” “What game?” I shot back, trying to keep my voice steady. “What do you want?” Leo grinned, but there was no warmth in it. “I want everything. You, Lana. Your trust. Your love. I want to destroy Donovan, and you’re the key to making that happen.” I felt a wave of nausea wash over me. How had I misjudged him so completely? I had thought Leo was my ally, someone I could trust, but now he was showing a dark side I had never seen before. “Lana, don’t listen to him!” Donovan shouted, stepping protectively in front of me. “

We need to stay focused.” As she spoke, I felt a knot tightening in my stomach. Something didn’t feel right. The more I thought about it, the more I began to question Sarah’s intentions. Was she really on my side, or was she just trying to protect herself? Suddenly, the front door creaked open, and a figure stepped inside. My heart raced as I turned, ready to confront

I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare, each moment dragging on as I tried to process everything that had happened. Leo was gone. The thought crushed me. I could still hear his voice, his laughter, and his promises echoing in my mind. I sat on the edge of my bed, staring at the wall, my heart heavy with grief. Leo had fought for me. He had given everything to protect me, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had failed him. I should have been there. I should have done something more. “Lana, are you okay?” Caroline’s voice broke through my thoughts. She stood in the doorway, concern etched on her face. I forced a smile, but it felt hollow. “Yeah, just thinking.” “Thinking about Leo?” she asked gently, stepping closer. I nodded, tears welling in my eyes. “I can’t believe he’s gone. He didn’t deserve this.” “I know,” Caroline said, sitting beside me. “He loved you, Lana. And you loved

We had to get away before they caught up. “Where do we go?” Caroline shouted, glancing over her shoulder. The Calm Before the Storm Lana’s POV I felt a wave of anxiety was right over me. A hidden island? What if it was a trap? But there was no other choice; we couldn’t go back to the city. As we approached the island, I noticed that the trees loomed like dark shadows against the night sky. “What’s on this island?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. “A safe spot. I used to come here for quiet when things got crazy,” Jax replied, his eyes focused on the shoreline. We pulled up to a small, rocky beach. The air was thick with the scent of salt and damp earth. “Let’s find some cover,” Jax said, leading us into the trees. “We can’t stay exposed here.” As we walked deeper into the island, I felt a chill run down my spine.
