"Lana, are you there?" Bryan inquired calmly, a smile directed at her that appeared somewhat out of place. I found myself questioning how he even knew her name as I observed his focused attention on her.

She did not extend a warm greeting; instead, she offered a smirk to a young boy who seemed completely unaware of the situation.

"You are quite arrogant, Lana; the boy is merely showing interest in you as any child would," I remarked, my voice tinged with frustration. Her expression shifted to one of distress as she rose from her seat, yet rather than escalating the situation, Bryan intervened.

"Mrs. Lana, I hope we are not causing any inconvenience. My mother and I can leave if our presence is unwelcome," he stated gently, his soft voice cutting through my anger like ice. I contemplated the urge to confront her, perhaps even to pull her hair in frustration.
