Lana pov

How could she possibly label me as weak? This thought consumed my mind as I directed a fierce glare at Caroline, who appeared completely unaware of the implications of her words.

“Did you just refer to me as a weak woman?” I finally voiced my concern, yet she paid me no mind, engrossed in her chocolate bar.

I couldn't help but wonder where she had acquired such a treat while seated here, dismissing me as a weak individual.

She leaped out without a moment's pause and faced me directly. “I was not joking, Lana; you tend to take everything lightly, which is why Clara feels compelled to impose her foolishness upon you.”

Her voice dripped with malice as she spoke. I cannot afford to be lighthearted when conveying the truth. She persisted, yet I could sense the weight of her sincerity regarding the matters at hand.

I understood that she was attempting to transform me into a ruthless and unfeeling individual, but I was not prepared to embrace that change.
