Chapter 21

Zoe stared at Avery while he slept peacefully on the bed. It was morning already and he had not woken up. Was Simon still in there? Or had Avery taken control of the body again?

She remembered the event of the past night, wondering just what Simon meant when he said no one should know about it. Just what in God’s name was going on? Why did it feel like there were still a lot to uncover about him?

Shaking her head to relieve herself of the thoughts, she walked into the bathroom to have a quick shower and then entered the closet, choosing a pair of jeans and a casual polo. After getting dressed, she combed her hair and parked it into a ponytail before picking a pair of glasses from the closet table.

Entering the room, Avery was still fast asleep, so she left quietly, not paying attention to the maids who greeted her as she walked out.

In the garage, she asked for car keys and three different ones were brought to her. She looked around to inspect the cars before choosing the black range
