“A drink?” Avery asked her and she nodded her head while her mind screamed at her for asking such a ridiculous thing.

“Yes, Avery. A drink. A real drink.”

He looked at her with uncertainty and she smiled. He wasn’t the only person who wanted to forget today. She wanted to forget it too, especially this morning. She had worked like a maniac, almost turning the house upside down just to forget the fact that she had been a coward who fled when the man whom she desperately wanted had tried making love to her.She had fled like a teenager and she wanted to forget it all.

Drinking would help her forget it all.

She just needed to keep her distance from Michael if he were to come out. It was probably a bad idea, but at the moment she didn’t care.
