Margaux cursed internally while her eyes followed the van. She threw a deadly glare on it out of fury before her gaze shifted back to the black car. Her excitement surged up as she expected to finally be greeted by the whole appearance of the guy. But her shoulders shrunken and her excitement instantly disseminated when she saw no one in there. She looked around the parking lot as her eyebrows deeply furrowed. “Where is he?” she muttered as she searched for that guy. He can't possibly disappear that fast. That guy just stepped out of his car so there was no way that he already entered the restaurant that quickly. He can't teleport, could he? And even if he ran away, she should’ve noticed it since it did not take the van a minute to block her view. Shaking her head, her eyes wandered around inside the restaurant as well, hoping to see him there although she was not sure who it was. But as expected, everyone was unfamiliar that her shoulders dropped defeatedly. “Here's your order
“Miss?” the security guard scowled at her. Margaux snapped out and blinked several times. She could not believe what she just saw and thought she was hallucinating once again. However, the side profile of the guy was very identical to Hendrix which she cannot be mistaken as it was her favorite features of him that she always stared at back then. “Are you okay?” she heard the security guard queried. She cleared her throat and nodded. Then she apologized once again before she asked permission if she could leave.Fortunately, the guard let her go and she did not waste any second and sped up to follow that car. Unfortunately though, that black car was fast enough to disappear. Her eyebrows knitted together as she looked left and right. Her grasp on the steering wheel tightened as she realized that there was no intersection near the area from where she was. “How fast did he drive?” she shook her head. That guy must be playing with her. His avoidance was making her even more convinced
“May I ask what you mean by seeing things?” Carlos inquired. Her secretary was already sitting on one of the chairs on the other side of her table. Margaux was not sure how they ended up having that conversation as she only remembered when Carlos asked if it was related as to why she ordered him to check the surveillance if Hendrix went to the building. She twisted her lips and bit the bottom of it. Her embarrassment heightened as she seemed obsessed with her ex-husband. out. Racking her brain to come up with a good excuse, her shoulders sogged as she let out an exasperated sigh. “I thought I was just hallucinating when I saw him from the reflection in my car’s side mirror. He was not in the surveillance which confirmed that I was just seeing things..” she shrugged, acting normal to cover her embarrassment. “What about the Princess’s cars? What does it have to do with your ex-husband?” the guy queried.Margaux tilted her head and did not want to elaborate her plans to her secr
Margaux stared at the phone she was holding when the caller suddenly hung up after asking how she was. She may not have memorized that voice as she never really wanted to, but she was certain it was that woman. Even though she had no idea how she got her office’s private number, she cannot be mistaken about it because aside from Liana, she was the only woman who seemed to have an obsession with her. Curling her fingers, she pressed her lips tightly. Her blood was boiling thinking that the woman suddenly had a big connection that she was able to get some of her private information. After putting back the phone down, she quickly turned on the intercom. “Carlos,” she called. “Yes, Miss Margaux?” her secretary responded in an instant. She did not reply right away. She was trying to calm herself first before she spoke to avoid getting further questions from her nosy secretary. Letting out a heavy breath, she finally spoke. “Someone called me from my landline, can you please check w
“No..” Margaux shook her head in disbelief. Her eyes landed on the tablet and saw high quality pictures of Hendrix in the airport while he boarded up to the time that he finally landed in the Philippines. “These can be edited. You know technologies nowadays,” she scowled as she kept scrolling at the pictures that seemed to never end. “This is the proof of his plane ticket purchase and the time of his arrival. There are dates indicated in the pictures and they all matched”Still, she shook her head. She stubbornly refused to believe that Hendrix was not in England anymore because it only meant one thing. Putting down her tablet, she leaned back and folded her arms across her chest. “How about Liana’s cars? Have you checked all of them?” she inquired all of a sudden. Her secretary did not answer. Although she knew it was impossible to get all the plate numbers of her cousin’s cars in just a few hours, she still asked just to divert her attention and distract herself from thinking a
‘Scared?’ she repeated inwardly. She wanted to laugh, but she repressed herself as she wanted to make Roxanne feel that she was on the upper hand. “Who is this?” she asked, trying to sound clueless and pretending to not to know who the caller was. A chuckle was heard from the other line, as though enjoying her struggle. “That’s a secret for now. You will be surprised once you know who I am..” There was a hint of mocking and sarcasm in her tone but she just ignored it and kept an innocent voice.“Why can’t you tell me now?” she probed. “Let’s not rush things up, babe. We have a lot of time and I want you to go crazy figuring who I am,” Roxanne giggled. Margaux wanted to burst out laughing as she found that woman funny. ‘Too gullible,’ she repeated in her head. She then shook her head at the irony because between the two of them, Roxanne was the gullible one and not her. The urge to retort if she was describing herself was strong but she bit her tongue to stop her mouth from sayi
“She’s here,” Carlos announced through the intercom. Her lips curved upward as she swayed the swivel chair left and right. “Let her in,” she said. After hanging up, she folded her arms across her chest and watched as the door opened. Her eyes instantly sparkled upon and her lips stretched wider upon seeing the guest she had been waiting for. “I didn’t know we are best of friends,” she stated as soon as Roxanne showed up. The woman smirked at her. She was wearing a sexy and fitted red dress that hugged her body. She was also wearing full make-up and diamond accessories as though she was attending a gala or a big event. “It’s not my fault that you are stupid..” Roxanne chuckled. Margaux’s eyebrows instantly raised. Her blood boiled not because she was annoyed at what she said, but rather, it was her arrogance that she did hate. “You wouldn’t be here if I’m stupid,” she stated matter-of-factly. Roxanne snorted. “I wouldn’t be here if you weren’t stupid. Don’t be confuse” The wo
“Hendrix!” Roxanne exclaimed as soon as she saw his face. But instead of responding to her, he just pushed her forcefully and her body slammed on the floor. Meanwhile, Margaux froze on her seat as she stared at the guy in front of her in utter disbelief. Her eyes went round while her lips parted slightly as though she had just seen a ghost. “Are you okay?” Hendrix inquired. He cupped her face but still, she was not able to move and just remained immobile while her gaze was not leaving him. ‘Am I just dreaming?’ she thought. She could not believe what she was seeing. He’s not the one she was expecting to come for the police and their security were already on standby and just waiting for Carlos’ signal. Blinking her eyes several times, her chest thumped wildly as his familiar scent entered her nostrils. “Margaux..” Hendrix muttered. His face was full of concern which made her heart swollen. She stared at him, still in utter disbelief and hoped that it was only a dream. “Hendri
Hendrix's thick furrowed eyebrows became permanent as he buried his face on paper works. His workaholic self just couldn't help finishing them all before he went home. “Sir, it's past nine already,” Tom, his secretary, stated. “You can go home now,” he responded without lifting his head. Tom looked hesitant as he stared at his boss who was busy signing the documents. He could leave just as he told him to, but he knew his future would be at risk if he did not drag his boss out of his office. Standing there, he took a deep breath and was prepared to say the magic word when all of a sudden, a loud ring erupted in the whole office. Hendrix stopped whatever he was doing and scowled at his mobile phone resting on the corner of his desk. His face was dark as though he was displeased that he's got interrupted with his work. “Let me see, you're still in the office, am I right?” the caller said without any greetings. Hendrix didn't need to ask who was on the other line. His annoyin
The manor was very busy as everyone seemed to be panicking as the time was running. But Margaux seemed oblivious as she was busy staring at herself in a huge mirror. Her heart was thumping hard. ‘This is it,” she told herself internally. The white beautiful wedding dress that was full of tiny diamonds was sparkling, almost blinding her eyes. Her hair was tied up in a very neat bun with some hair strands curled beautifully decorating her small face. While her makeup was just light, almost bare showing her natural beauty that made everyone in the room bewitched as they all looked at her. “Miss Margaux, it’s time to walk down the aisle,” the organizer announced. Margaux glanced over herself one more time before leaving the room. The organizer gave her the beautifully arranged white bouquet with a huge grin.“Mr Mondragon is so lucky,” she muttered with pure admiration. She did not respond and just gave her a small smile. Her stomach was churning as her chest was about to explode. S
Margaux crossed her arms as she leaned on the back rest of the sofa, staring at the woman in front of her. She woke up alone and everyone in the manor was nowhere to be found aside for Liana who was sitting comfortably on the sofa in the living room while having a cup of tea as she descended the stairs. “Babe,” Liana flashed a small smile. Her eyebrows raised as she had no idea what her cousin was doing in their manor. As far as she could remember, she was left in the Philippines so she thought she would stay there and will never have the guts to show her face again out of remorse. ‘I forgot that she’s shameless,’ she thought and rolled her eyes. “I know you never wish to see me again,” Liana muttered. “You know but you still show up here,” she replied sarcastically. The princess let out a sigh then shook her head. Seeing that, Margaux thought she was going to retort a sarcastic remark and grin mockingly at her like she always does before. However, she’d seen none of it, rather
“I want to give her a grand wedding in front of all of you, her family and friends,” Hendrix added. He was looking straight to Don Geronimo as he said those words with a very serious face. However, the corner of his lips lifted upon seeing Margaux’s reaction in his peripheral vision. “You’re already married,” Don Geronimo stated. Hendrix's lips pursed as he brought his attention back to the old man. “But it didn't feel right. I married her as Margaux Hermani and I want to correct that“ “Hendrix..” Margaux muttered. He finally looked at her direction and saw her flustered face and teary eyes. She probably didn't expect that and had a doubt about his plan. Stepping forward, he cupped her face and stared into her blue eyes. “I want to make this right,” he muttered. Then he put down his hands and shoved one onto the pocket of his jeans whilst slowly kneeling down in front of her. A loud gasp came from Margaux as he pulled out the velvet box and revealed a huge diamond ring.
“You're blooming,” Daisy smirked as soon as they entered the dining room. Margaux’s face turned hot in an instant. She then threw her cousin a sharp glare on which the latter just laughed it off. “Why are you looking at me like that? I’m just stating a fact,” Daisy said and gave her a malicious grin. She rolled her eyes and did not say anything. Instead, she took her seat and looked around the table to see that they were complete except her parents, who were probably still in the hospital. “You should take the seat next to your wife,” she heard her uncle say. Her eyebrows raised as the only vacant seat next to her was his father's chair. “I don't think that's right,” Hendrix muttered as he stood still behind her chair. “Just take that seat and eat. It's just a chair,” her uncle Daniel insisted. Knowing that her husband won't do it for his respect for her father, she let out a sigh before glancing over her shoulder. “You can take that chair. No one will mind,”
“Are you tired?” Hendrix queried as they cuddled under the blanket. ‘I am exhausted!’ Margaux’s mind screamed internally. Her face was burning and kept her eyes closed recalling what they had just done. It was not the first time anymore but it still felt new to her. Moreso, the experience was entirely different from the first one as she thought Hendrix didn't strain himself anymore which made her whole body sore. She felt his soft lips touch her forehead and a soft whisper of ‘I love you’ tingles her left ear. He then tightened his hold on her and pressed her body to his even more as if he was afraid to have even a tiniest gap between them. “Love..” he murmured. Curiously, Margaux slowly opened her eyes and met his gaze. But before she could say something, Hendrix quickly leaned in closer and claimed her lips. Gasping, she opened her eyes and reluctantly pushed him away. “I can't do it anymore,” she mumbled. She averted her gaze as her face became hotter. She had no qualms
“Call all the doctors, quick!” she exclaimed as she kneeled down next to Hendrix. Her heart just stopped beating upon seeing his unconscious body. She didn't know where to touch him as she was afraid she might hurt him even more. “Love! Open your eyes, please! Don't sleep!” she cried. She could feel her cousin was trying to calm her but her emotions exploded that she could not hear anything anymore. “Babe, calm down!” Daisy shook her. “Love, please!” she pleaded. Her hands were shaking as she placed her palms on his chest. Although she could feel his heartbeat, still she cannot calm down seeing him unconscious with blood almost covering his shirt. “Let me check his wounds,” Felissa muttered. Reluctantly, she moved away and let her mother check where the gunshot was. She was holding her breath as she was trying to prepare for whatever she was going to see. However, as soon as her mother lifted Hendrix's shirt, loud gasps reverberated in the room and followed by loud laughter.
“Aren’t you afraid that he might let that woman free?” Felissa inquired. Margaux heaved a sigh. Then, a small smile flashed her face as she looked at her mother. “I trust that he won’t do it, Mom..” she replied. Her mother stared at her for a long second before she responded. “What if he betrayed you?” she asked critically. She did not know if her mother was just testing her. But her question did not really come across her mind. After learning what happened from the nurse that was supposed to kill her, she knew right then that Hendrix did not really mean to shoot her. He was aiming for Doctor Pablo, not her. That’s why as soon as he tried to approach her, she did not hesitate to send him with that woman. She was that confident that he would come back to her, not thinking about other possibilities that he had other motives. Looking away, she curled her fingers as she was starting to doubt her decision. But then she shook her head immediately and lifted her chin as she returned her
Margaux quickly shifted her head towards the door as soon as she heard it shut. Her shoulders slumped while she heaved a deep sigh. “Why did you make him leave and feel disappointed now?” Her father queried. She pursed her lips. Seriously, she didn’t know why she did that. Probably because she was not ready to face him yet. She took a deep breath once again and looked at her father. “Did you already know about Doctor Pablo?” She asked instead. Don Geronimo raised his eyebrows. His eyes lit up, prolly seeing her intention of changing the topic. “I had suspicion, but never thought he could actually do that to us,” he shook his head. Margaux’s eyes narrowed as she stared at her father. His actions and facial expression were so contradictory that she could not help but be skeptical. “Really?” She tilted her head and crossed her arms. She did trust her father, but at that moment, she could not help but doubt his words. Meanwhile, Don Geronimo suddenly laughed boisterously. “You’r
