The twenty four hours she gave him immediately passed and just as what she had expected, it was just a waste of time. After she said those things to her, Hendrix became silent as if he switched off and never tried to make any more effort to prove himself to her. “I already informed my family that I'm here so you don't need to worry about going to jail. Just be grateful I don't like getting my parents involved with my plans, so you are safe now,” she said before walking out of the apartment and shut the door right away. Her face was grim as she sashayed her way out of the old building. She didn't bother calling anyone to fetch her as she didn't want them to see how exasperated she was. She was utterly disappointed with Hendrix. Although she already expected it to happen. She still got angry at him for not giving much effort to get her favor back. “Miss Margaux?” someone suddenly blocked her way and gasped loudly while staring at her with wide eyes. Her eyebrows deeply furrowed
“What?!” Margaux exclaimed as she stared at Daisy with wide eyes, “Why did he think that?!” Her cousin gave her a look while scrunching her nose, “Apparently, he invited him to the manor and had a brief talk” “You’re kidding me!” she shook her head profusely. “Why would I do that? We were also shocked by that information. Your father was the one who told us about that last night!” Margaux was in disbelief. It never occurred to her that her father would talk with Hendrix one day. Because she knew her father was not the type to meddle with anyone’s business, especially to hers and her mother unless they asked him to. “Aunt Felissa got mad at Uncle because according to her, your father was plotting something which in the end, Uncle admitted that he didn’t like Hendrix and he did that to intimidate him,” Daisy shook her head in disapproval, “For me, that’s really unnecessary though. Hendrix seemed to be the person who never gets intimidated easily” She scoffed, “Tell me about it,”
“I’m getting married,” Daisy said calmly. “You.. what?!” Kristoff reacted hysterically while Margaux stared at her cousin in disbelief. “With whom?” she inquired. Her eyes squinted as she looked at Daisy. Even though she already had an idea with whom she was going to get married, she wanted to confirm it from her own mouth. “Jack Simon,” Daisy smirked. There were loud gasps from their family while she just gave her cousin a suspicious look. They just talked about him not long ago and she remembered her cousin adamantly told her she had no feelings for Jack and even tried to pair them up. “Why?” she asked curiously. There’s no way they will get married out of love. Sure, it was for the guy as he already proved it to her but Daisy? She shook her head. “Because I’m at the right age to settle down,” the woman shrugged. “That’s b*llsh*t Daisy!” Kristoff screamed angrily. “You love your single life! We are not stupid to fall for that lame excuse!” he threw his sister a dead
Margaux felt overwhelmed by all the things she learned from Hendrix and Daisy. Although she didn't believe Hendrix's words, it still affected her in some ways and she wished she never gave him a whole day at all. She filed for a leave the next day and decided to just take a rest because she clearly wasn't able to sleep in the guy's apartment knowing that he was there as well in the same room with her. She had never slept with any guy, thus, she was uncomfortable even though Hendrix laid down on the other corner and with a very safe distance from her. As for her cousin, she didn’t know what to feel about that as it was equally shocking to the core. She kept tossing and turning in her bed and was annoyed that she still couldn’t sleep in the comfort of her bed.Her mind was a mess as the morning came. She was able to take a nap but that’s it. Hopeless to get a good sleep again, she finally decided to get out of her bed and take a walk outside. She hadn't even stepped out of their gat
Margaux was taken aback at the sudden question. But she immediately recovered and equalled his stares. “No. I don't have feelings with him anymore,” she said resolutely. It was a lie as she knew it was not easy to move on and just forget about her feelings that she had been harboring for five years. However, she won't admit it in front of her father, especially in front of her uncle who obviously wanted to warn her for his daughter. “Then, there will be no problem if you stay away from him,” the King said casually. She was about to retort when her father beat her to it. “My daughter can do whatever she wants. No one can control her,” Don Geronimo said sternly. “Can’t she do it for the sake of her cousin?”Her father snorted. “What can Liana do for Margaux’s sake then?” he shook his head. “You know everything’s a barter. Nothing is free now”The King, her uncle, clenched his jaw. But still, he was able to keep his cool as he shifted his gaze back to her.“What do you wish Liana w
Hendrix stayed the whole day in his apartment. He had no energy to move and do anything. After the long discussion with Margaux, he felt so drained and exhausted he just wanted to lay down there until he recovered. His eyes were shut when his phone blasted on but he didn’t care. He ignored it until it stopped ringing like he couldn’t hear anything at all and just let his mind wander back to his conversation with Margaux.According to her, she hated him to the core. Why? Because he was a douchebag which he didn’t deny. It was true. He neglected her and basically abandoned her after literally getting married. He left without a word right after the ceremony because of the emergency in the company. His mind then was so full about work that everything outside of it was forgotten. He let out an exasperated sigh. It was all his fault and only he could be blamed for whatever was happening at the moment. Margaux won’t get mistreatment with his family if only he showed them that he cared
Hendrix didn’t think twice and quickly got up. He didn’t even bother looking at himself in the mirror nor check if he was decent and just hastily went towards the door and excitedly opened it. “Did you forget something?” he asked as soon as he opened the door. However, the excitement he felt instantly vanished and his face fell as soon as he saw who it was. It was not the Margaux he was expecting. But rather, it was the Margaux he never wanted to see again. “What do you need?” he asked sternly. But the woman just stood rooted there, as though she was a statue or something. Her eyes were wide and her gaze was fixated on his chest. “I-i..” Hendrix's brows deeply furrowed upon seeing her reaction. Slowly, he followed her gaze and looked down on his chest. And just like her, he got frozen as he realized he wasn’t wearing any tops. “Fvck!” he cursed loudly and immediately slammed the door shut. He quickly ransacked his luggage and fished out the first shirt he saw. In haste, he
Margaux stared blankly at Daisy while the latter was elaborating why she needed to go with her in the royal’s palace. She wasn’t in the mood to go out, lest meet the people she didn’t want to see again. BUt her cousin seemed persistent and even used her pregnancy as an excuse. “That’s blackmailing,” she corrected.Daisy grinned, “Whatever you think it fits. But you really need to come with me or I won’t continue..” “You won’t continue what?” Margaux quickly asked. Her eyes squinted at her. “Be honest. Are you really pregnant?”“I am very pregnant,” Daisy answered. “What I’m about to say is I won’t continue my plan to take you with me for my maternity check up if you won’t accompany me in the palace,” she explained. Margaux heaved as sigh. Felt relieved that her cousin was not thinking about abortion. “I love my baby. Whatever happens, I will never kill him or her..”She leaned back and crossed her legs. After nodding her head in satisfaction, her brows furrowed and queried, “Why
Hendrix's thick furrowed eyebrows became permanent as he buried his face on paper works. His workaholic self just couldn't help finishing them all before he went home. “Sir, it's past nine already,” Tom, his secretary, stated. “You can go home now,” he responded without lifting his head. Tom looked hesitant as he stared at his boss who was busy signing the documents. He could leave just as he told him to, but he knew his future would be at risk if he did not drag his boss out of his office. Standing there, he took a deep breath and was prepared to say the magic word when all of a sudden, a loud ring erupted in the whole office. Hendrix stopped whatever he was doing and scowled at his mobile phone resting on the corner of his desk. His face was dark as though he was displeased that he's got interrupted with his work. “Let me see, you're still in the office, am I right?” the caller said without any greetings. Hendrix didn't need to ask who was on the other line. His annoyin
The manor was very busy as everyone seemed to be panicking as the time was running. But Margaux seemed oblivious as she was busy staring at herself in a huge mirror. Her heart was thumping hard. ‘This is it,” she told herself internally. The white beautiful wedding dress that was full of tiny diamonds was sparkling, almost blinding her eyes. Her hair was tied up in a very neat bun with some hair strands curled beautifully decorating her small face. While her makeup was just light, almost bare showing her natural beauty that made everyone in the room bewitched as they all looked at her. “Miss Margaux, it’s time to walk down the aisle,” the organizer announced. Margaux glanced over herself one more time before leaving the room. The organizer gave her the beautifully arranged white bouquet with a huge grin.“Mr Mondragon is so lucky,” she muttered with pure admiration. She did not respond and just gave her a small smile. Her stomach was churning as her chest was about to explode. S
Margaux crossed her arms as she leaned on the back rest of the sofa, staring at the woman in front of her. She woke up alone and everyone in the manor was nowhere to be found aside for Liana who was sitting comfortably on the sofa in the living room while having a cup of tea as she descended the stairs. “Babe,” Liana flashed a small smile. Her eyebrows raised as she had no idea what her cousin was doing in their manor. As far as she could remember, she was left in the Philippines so she thought she would stay there and will never have the guts to show her face again out of remorse. ‘I forgot that she’s shameless,’ she thought and rolled her eyes. “I know you never wish to see me again,” Liana muttered. “You know but you still show up here,” she replied sarcastically. The princess let out a sigh then shook her head. Seeing that, Margaux thought she was going to retort a sarcastic remark and grin mockingly at her like she always does before. However, she’d seen none of it, rather
“I want to give her a grand wedding in front of all of you, her family and friends,” Hendrix added. He was looking straight to Don Geronimo as he said those words with a very serious face. However, the corner of his lips lifted upon seeing Margaux’s reaction in his peripheral vision. “You’re already married,” Don Geronimo stated. Hendrix's lips pursed as he brought his attention back to the old man. “But it didn't feel right. I married her as Margaux Hermani and I want to correct that“ “Hendrix..” Margaux muttered. He finally looked at her direction and saw her flustered face and teary eyes. She probably didn't expect that and had a doubt about his plan. Stepping forward, he cupped her face and stared into her blue eyes. “I want to make this right,” he muttered. Then he put down his hands and shoved one onto the pocket of his jeans whilst slowly kneeling down in front of her. A loud gasp came from Margaux as he pulled out the velvet box and revealed a huge diamond ring.
“You're blooming,” Daisy smirked as soon as they entered the dining room. Margaux’s face turned hot in an instant. She then threw her cousin a sharp glare on which the latter just laughed it off. “Why are you looking at me like that? I’m just stating a fact,” Daisy said and gave her a malicious grin. She rolled her eyes and did not say anything. Instead, she took her seat and looked around the table to see that they were complete except her parents, who were probably still in the hospital. “You should take the seat next to your wife,” she heard her uncle say. Her eyebrows raised as the only vacant seat next to her was his father's chair. “I don't think that's right,” Hendrix muttered as he stood still behind her chair. “Just take that seat and eat. It's just a chair,” her uncle Daniel insisted. Knowing that her husband won't do it for his respect for her father, she let out a sigh before glancing over her shoulder. “You can take that chair. No one will mind,”
“Are you tired?” Hendrix queried as they cuddled under the blanket. ‘I am exhausted!’ Margaux’s mind screamed internally. Her face was burning and kept her eyes closed recalling what they had just done. It was not the first time anymore but it still felt new to her. Moreso, the experience was entirely different from the first one as she thought Hendrix didn't strain himself anymore which made her whole body sore. She felt his soft lips touch her forehead and a soft whisper of ‘I love you’ tingles her left ear. He then tightened his hold on her and pressed her body to his even more as if he was afraid to have even a tiniest gap between them. “Love..” he murmured. Curiously, Margaux slowly opened her eyes and met his gaze. But before she could say something, Hendrix quickly leaned in closer and claimed her lips. Gasping, she opened her eyes and reluctantly pushed him away. “I can't do it anymore,” she mumbled. She averted her gaze as her face became hotter. She had no qualms
“Call all the doctors, quick!” she exclaimed as she kneeled down next to Hendrix. Her heart just stopped beating upon seeing his unconscious body. She didn't know where to touch him as she was afraid she might hurt him even more. “Love! Open your eyes, please! Don't sleep!” she cried. She could feel her cousin was trying to calm her but her emotions exploded that she could not hear anything anymore. “Babe, calm down!” Daisy shook her. “Love, please!” she pleaded. Her hands were shaking as she placed her palms on his chest. Although she could feel his heartbeat, still she cannot calm down seeing him unconscious with blood almost covering his shirt. “Let me check his wounds,” Felissa muttered. Reluctantly, she moved away and let her mother check where the gunshot was. She was holding her breath as she was trying to prepare for whatever she was going to see. However, as soon as her mother lifted Hendrix's shirt, loud gasps reverberated in the room and followed by loud laughter.
“Aren’t you afraid that he might let that woman free?” Felissa inquired. Margaux heaved a sigh. Then, a small smile flashed her face as she looked at her mother. “I trust that he won’t do it, Mom..” she replied. Her mother stared at her for a long second before she responded. “What if he betrayed you?” she asked critically. She did not know if her mother was just testing her. But her question did not really come across her mind. After learning what happened from the nurse that was supposed to kill her, she knew right then that Hendrix did not really mean to shoot her. He was aiming for Doctor Pablo, not her. That’s why as soon as he tried to approach her, she did not hesitate to send him with that woman. She was that confident that he would come back to her, not thinking about other possibilities that he had other motives. Looking away, she curled her fingers as she was starting to doubt her decision. But then she shook her head immediately and lifted her chin as she returned her
Margaux quickly shifted her head towards the door as soon as she heard it shut. Her shoulders slumped while she heaved a deep sigh. “Why did you make him leave and feel disappointed now?” Her father queried. She pursed her lips. Seriously, she didn’t know why she did that. Probably because she was not ready to face him yet. She took a deep breath once again and looked at her father. “Did you already know about Doctor Pablo?” She asked instead. Don Geronimo raised his eyebrows. His eyes lit up, prolly seeing her intention of changing the topic. “I had suspicion, but never thought he could actually do that to us,” he shook his head. Margaux’s eyes narrowed as she stared at her father. His actions and facial expression were so contradictory that she could not help but be skeptical. “Really?” She tilted her head and crossed her arms. She did trust her father, but at that moment, she could not help but doubt his words. Meanwhile, Don Geronimo suddenly laughed boisterously. “You’r
