The princess of Altundral
Chapter two
Princess Deliah Blues point of view
The following morning I'm up early. Today is the day I'm going to have a word with my brothers. I'm a grown woman they don't get to pick who I can hang around with. It's time to make a stand.
I need a life.
I head to the shower, as usual, Beven takes over my thoughts, does he really like me. I know I see him looking. Sneaking glances when he thinks no one is around. But I thought maybe it was because he misses me as a friend. Does he still see me as a friend? That little girl that used to follow him everywhere?
I certainly don't see him as a friend. I only see the insanely handsome man that he's turned into.
Once I'm dressed, I make my way downstairs, mother and father are already up with my little brothers, I kiss them both on the head and giggle as they groan, I wonder if these two will have any powers.
My father looks at me as he says,
"Good morning Princess. Are we going to work on controlling those powers of yours today?"
I smile back as I reply,
"Yes, Father. I want to go to the waterfall first. I want to thank Beven."
He raises his eyebrows as he says,
"You know I don't like you hanging around with boys Deliah Blue."
I groan.
"Daddy. I'm twenty; I'm not a little girl anymore."
He chuckles as he says,
"Believe me, Deliah. I know your not. Your a beautiful young woman. But I worry of people taking advantage of your powers. Until you learn how to control the power of yours, I fear you'll use too much. It's dangerous for you Deliah."
My mum sits at the table, taking my father's hand in hers as she says,
"Oh, Halturian she's a young woman. I was pregnant at her age."
"Yes, this also worries me." My father replies with a groan.
I laugh as I say,
"Oh, Daddy, I haven't even found a mate. I just want to thank Beven for saving my life. I owe him that much."
My father nods his head as my mum says.
"Beven is a good man Halturian. He would never take advantage of Deliah; you know this."
I watch as mum walks over to my father. She puts her arms around his neck as she says,
"You have to let her learn by her own mistakes, baby."
My father looks me in the eye as he says,
"Yeah, Yeah, I know. Just promise me no powers okay, Deliah."
"Yes, father. I promise no powers."
My father seems happy with this, I thought he didn't want me seeing boys, but he looks more worried over my powers. Or people exploiting my powers, but Beven would never do that my Father knows and trusts him.
I eat some breakfast as quickly as I can, hoping I can get out of here before my brothers come down.
"Good morning."
But there's no chance of that, Davin comes in the room pinching the toast out of my hand.
"Good morning Davin."
I reply as Derriel comes into the room. Now I know there's definitely no chance of sneaking out of here alone.
I guess it's time to have a word with my two protective brothers. This little bird has found her wings and wants to fly.
Once I've finished eating, I jump up and shout,
"I'm going for a walk. I'll be back after dinner for my training father."
He nods his head as he replies,
"Okay Deliah, just remember what I said."
I roll my eyes. Before I'm out the door, Derriel and Davin are by my side.
"We're coming with you, sis."
They say in unison; I sigh as I reply
"Fine."
We head down to the waterfall. He's there, Working out. I look over at him and wave.
His eyes light up, and he waves back to me. Derriel laughs at me.
"Jesus sis could you make it anymore obvious."
I blush as Derriel laughs some more.
"I am going to talk to Beven. You boys go for your swim." I say.
"Why are you talking to him?"
Davin questions me with a frown on his face. I'll come over with you.
"Because I can, and I want to thank him for yesterday, and no you won't come with me I''m a grown-ass woman quite capable of speaking to a man all by myself."
Derriel laughs as he looks at Davin
"That's you told brother."
Davin frowns as he says
"You know Dad asks us to keep an eye on her."
Derriel looks at me as he says,
"Yes, there's keeping an eye on her, and there's suffocating her. She's right. She's a woman. She's not a child anymore. No one tells you which girls you can see do they."
Davin growls as he replies.
"No, but that's different."
Derriel shakes his head as he says.
"No, it's not. Go and talk to him Deliah. We'll be right over here if you need us."
I smile at Derriel. He's always been the sensible one. He'll make a good king one day. Davin, He's the tough one. The strong one. But he has to learn to let go.
I kiss the top of their heads. I love my brothers, dearly. I know being the only girl in the family. They feel as though they have to watch over me. Females are precious on Altundral. I know they worry, especially with me having my powers.
"Thank you."
I say as I stand up to walk over to Beven. I feel his eyes on me, the confusion on his face. Once I'm standing in front of him, I blush as I whisper.
"Hi."
He smiles those beautiful green eyes lighting up his face as he says
"Hello princess."
We look at each other before I say.
"I wanted to thank you, Beven. You saved my life yesterday."
He chuckles
"Oh princess, I could never let anything happen to you."
He smiles at me, Melting my heart before he turns to look at my two brothers.
"How did you manage to keep your bodyguards away."
"There in training," I say with a giggle.
Beven raises his eyebrows in confusion as he asks
"Training?"
I giggle as I look over at my brothers
"Yes, I'm teaching them. I'm not a child anymore."
Beven looks at me as he says,
"Oh, I can see that, Princess."
I Blush, making Beven laugh at me, as he says
"Your not a child Deliah. You're the most beautiful woman in Altundral."
He looks at me with his beautiful grey-green eyes. I laugh, I say.
"Will you come on a picnic with me tomorrow—My ermmmm, As a thank you."
He smiles.
"You don't have to thank me Deliah Blue."
He says as I look down at the floor unable to hide my disappointment before he says.
"But I would love to go for a picnic with you."
"Oh'" I whisper.
I look down to the floor. Beven takes hold of my hand. I lift my head to look at him as he smiles at me.
"What are you going to do with the bodyguards over there?"
I giggle,
"I'll finish training them tonight."
Beven throws his head back and laughs. Running his hand down my arm, It makes me shiver.
"Are you cold Deliah Blue?"
He asks me with a devious glint in his eyes.
"No"
I whisper, tingles running down my arm. Beven smiles at me, Letting go of my arm as he says,
"I'll pick you up from the Palace at eleven o'clock tomorrow, my beautiful Princess."
I turn to walk back to my brothers. I am feeling like I'm walking on air.
