The Alrundral Princess
Chapter three
Princess Deliah Blue's point of view
I find it hard to sleep that night I'm so excited for tomorrow when I do finally fall into a deep sleep. Those beautiful grey-green eyes invade my dreams.
I'm up early the following morning; I'm just so excited for today.
I have a shower, dry my hair put on some makeup and pick out a pretty blue sundress.
When I make my way downstairs, mum is already up. She turns to me with a smile.
"Your up early sweetie," she says,
I giggle as I say.
"I couldn't sleep."
Mum looks at me with a knowing smile.
"Oh yeah, today's the big day. My baby girl's growing up."
She laughs as I blush.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart."
I straighten the dress, as I ask.
"Thank you, do you think he'll like it?."
My mum laughs as she replies.
"I think Beven likes whatever your wearing.
I've seen the way he looks at you Deliah, I've warned Davin to keep away today."
I let out a sigh of relief, as I say.
"Thank you, mum. I know he worries over me."
Mum sighs, as she says.
"Davin worries over everyone Deliah. It's just the way he is. So where are you going today?"
I shrug my shoulders as I reply,
"I don't know he never said. He just said he'd pick me up at eleven."
She places her hand over mine as she says,
"Just be careful, baby. No using your power's when your fathers not around."
"I won't; I promise mum," I reply,
Not many people know that I have some of Dad's powers my parents are scared that people will exploit me. Something happened to mum many years ago, Davin said she was kidnapped off some crazy guy. But they don't like to talk about it.
Beven's point of view
I can't believe the Princess came over to talk to me. Let alone ask me if I wanted to go on a picnic.
I spent the night tossing and turning. My beautiful princess is filling my every thought. Her sparkling blue eyes, looking at me every time I closed my own.
I get up in the morning. I still can't get her out of my head. She has me throbbing. I have to relieve myself in the shower Dam she's got me acting like a schoolboy I think to myself as I call out her name when I come.
Jesus, what is this woman doing to me?
I dress in some fitted jeans and a shirt that defines my abs, finally finishing with some aftershave.
I head to the kitchen my stepfather is already up.
He looks at me as I walk in the room, rating his eyebrows as he says.
"Woooo you scrub up good. Who's the lucky lady?"
I laugh, as I say.
"What makes you think it's a lady."
He chuckles as he looks at me.
"Well, you don't smell like that any other day."
He knows me so well.
"Yeah Yeah, I'm going on a picnic with Deliah Blue."
He raises his eyebrows as he asks.
"Princess Deliah?"
"Is there another Deliah Blue?" I say
Makkan shakes his head. Before tapping me round my ear.
"Smartass, Just Be careful."
He says his face turning serious
I chuckle as I say,
"Jesus. What is it with everyone? We're only going for a picnic." I say.
Makkan places his hand on my shoulder as he says.
"You're going for a picnic with a princess. Just keep your eyes and ears open. You swore an oath to your King. And that means his family as well. Halturian worries over Deliah. I know your one of our best warriors, and you will keep her safe."
I frown as I say,
"I wouldn't let anything happen to Deliah."
Makkan looks at me again.
"Just keep your ears and eyes open. Be aware of your surroundings."
"Makkan I promise I won't let anything happen to her."
I say, makkan frowns as he replies.
"I know, Beven I know. I was there when the Queen was kidnapped. Things can change in an instant. I took my eyes off her Granted she should have been safe. But I let my guard down, and the Queen paid the price."
I turn to him as I say,
"The King has never blamed you. He made you the chief guard."
Makkan sighs as he says,
"I know son. Halturian may not blame me, but if I hadn't have dropped my guard, she would have never been taken. I will always blame myself."
I nod my head, in understanding.
"I would never let anything happen to Deliah."
Makkan squeezes my shoulder as he says,
"You like her, don't you?."
I look at Makkan, the only father figure I have ever known as I say
"Yeah, I do. I think I always have."
Makkan laughs as he says.
"I think the feelings mutual. I remember when she used to follow you everywhere."
I laugh as I think of that little girl with the big blue eyes following me wherever I went. It didn't bother me in the slightest.
I say my goodbyes to Makkan and my mother before I head outside, making my way to the stables.
I smile as I look at the big black stallion, already in the field.
"Hey, spirit."
I shout out his name. His ears prick up to my voice as he gallops over to me.
"Hey, spirit. How about me and you take a beautiful princess for a ride?"
I laugh as he nuzzles his head into me. I'm sure this boy is half-human. Or maybe half Altundral.
I saddle him up and tie the picnic basket to his side.
"Come on, boy, we can't keep a princess waiting."
We set off in a gallop towards the palace.
When I arrive at the Palace, the staff let me in. I know almost everyone here as Makkan and my mum both work here.
King Halturian is waiting in the Grand Hall.
I walk up to him. He stands to his full height. Fuck I forget how big this man is.
He crosses his arms in front of his body. I gulp, and he laughs at me as he says.
"Hahaha, your face was a picture Beven.'
I laugh back as I say.
"Yeah, thanks for that King Halturian.
He laughs again as he says.
" So you're taking my daughter out on a date.?"
A date. I'm taking his daughter out on a date. Is this a date?
Fuck I really hope so.
"I'm ermmm yeah," I reply a little unsure of what to say.
As I look up, Deliah walks into the room. She's wearing a pretty blue dress. I know I should say something. But I can't seem to form the words, she looks beautiful.
The King chuckles as he says,
"Pick your jaw up lad."
He pats me on the back, knocking me out of my trance.
"You look beautiful, Deliah." I say.
She blushes as she says.
"Are we ready to leave?"
"Yes, come on."
I say, taking her hand in mine. Forgetting Halturian is in the room with us. As we walk out towards the door, I hear him shout out.
"Beven?"
I stop and turn to look at him, as he says.
"Keep my daughter safe."
I smile as I look at Princess Deliah and I say.
"Always Halturian, you have my word."
We walk out hand in hand, I help Deliah up onto spirit, and I jump up behind her. We set off into a trot. I look up as I feel a pair of eyes burning into me.
Davin watches us until we're out of sight. I wonder what his problem is. ...........................
