Chapter  2

Edwin also known as the “grey one” and his younger brother Robert ,son's of Alpha Darius, the leader of the Silverstone pack ,has come to the Hilly pack on their father's request to check on their allies and also ensure that tributes,terms and conditions of their treaty are adhered to.

 Silverstone pack,the wealthiest and strongest of the packs,considered the protecter of the other packs has been said be  specially blessed by the Selene as their men and women are considered a high price.

Edwin or the grey one, the first son of Alpha Darius and next in line is a handsome young beta  who has women droolning over him in their fantasy as he is blessed with a forehead as 

perfect as one those paintings from Picasso ,a high defined cheek bone,taut jawline, hair with the color of chestnut ,a tiny pink lip with the upper lip lifted pulled curved at the right edges over the lower one,his deep brown eyes which can search out the depth of one's soul with just a stare and hands caroussed with the veins which looked like they would pop open at any minute on that six foot,five inches athletic body of his  which he carried around with a certain air of arrogance and authority just like his feather who strikes fear into the heart of all.

Grey one as he fondly called because Edwin can literally walk right into you without you hearing as much a feather rattle  or the swiftness with which he walks as people run out of breath trying to keep up with him. One striking thing about Ed is that he hardly talks ,he is more of an observer ,barely utter few sentences that comes with a tone of finality. 

The men and women  from Silverstone pack are highly sought after because  the men are strong,agile and very prideful while the women are tall and pretty with a sporty built. Silverstone pack is a home of warriors.

 Ed has built this strong walk of defence around him that many atimes he had gone into the temple to pray to Selene not to give him a mate or he is going to reject his mate but when his caught that of Rose ,he felt a different way in  his wolf body,the adrenaline rush was so powerful as if he was going to tear into shreds and  for the few seconds their eyes became locked on each other,he felt a tenderness and a need to have and protect Rose by all means.

When Rose became transfixed as their eyes locked and could barely lift her feet from the ground when she attempted to move which had her almost trip over but for the quick intervention of Isabella who held her by her cloth to steady her thereby stopping the disaster of bathing everyone at the table with the contents of the tray in her hands,Ed knew she would marry him.

 Ed,Ed, his brother  Robert called him but his obvious to it until Mr Williams called “grey one” followed with a tap on the glass,Ed came back to reality and answered with a look in the direction of Mr Williams  who introduced  Amber as his daughter and hoped that both of them get along  without introducing Rose at all.

 Rose approached the table and began to drop the contents of the tray in her hands ,when she got in front of Ed her hands were shaking and her wolf came alive in a manner that she has never known or seen before,she quickly dropped them and left .

As she walked back to the kitchen ,Ed, the grey one followed every of movement with his eyes and became lost that even when Alpha Williams was listing Amber's achievements to him inorder to increase her prospect before him ,he didn't not even hear him,it's like he was trapped in the world of Rose.

It took a clink of glass to jottle him back to reality and  in that instant he knew he had to look for her by all means ,his inner has become restless is yearning for Rose.

 After dinner he went into the smoking with Alpha with to discuss matters of their visit as regards Hilly  pack providing Silverstone pack with omega's  as they had recently lost them to the hands of plague brought back by  an omega presented to them from the  Hollow pack  as treaty for not meeting up with their payment of  3000 pices of gold  for providing security using Silverstone pack Delta.

 Since the death of  all the omega's at Silverstone as a result of  plague,leaving just a weak omega who is as good as  nothing  as she cannot even mate till after six mating season,it became imperative that Silverstone gets new omega's as quickly as possible and Hilly pack is tasked with that provision. Alpha Williams, Robert and Edwin  all bid each other Goodnight as they retire to their various chambers for the night .

While the rest of the household were asleep, Ed had just remove every piece of clothing on him and settled down into bed to get some sleep . He has  been lying in bed for close to two hours now yet,sleep eluded him as his thoughts was just about the girl he met earlier that has kept his inner wolf restless,he needed to see her again,he needs to know her name,there is a burning inside him to claim her, he needs to run his hands on those soft ,delicate skin that he saw,he needs those fragile body to yearn for him, under him,he needs those sweet looking almond shaped lips to speak only his name,he was lost in the thought of  Rose when he heard faint footsteps towards his allocated bedroom,his quick hearing and swift movement has always come into play,he got up immediately and was at the back of the door ,quietly unlocked it  to give whoever or whatever it is access to crash into floor should they decide to use force on the door.

He heard the door creak and watch  it open at thesame time,he Amber fall head in and landed on the floor ,he was surprised as  he was ready to pounce on the intruder and teach him a lesson of  their life. 

Stunned,yes,grey one was,he narrowed his eyes arched his brows as he looked on the pile in front of him on the floor,Amber winced in pain as she made to get up but  got him with as sharp pain from her shoulder, another attempt at getting up was met with pain that seared from her toes to her brain, then it hit her,she has just had a broken ankle and a fractured shoulder.

Ed came close  looked at her asked her if she was alright which she couldn't answer as every attempt to speak was met with pain,she managed to raise her forefinger and waved it in the air to signal that she was not anywhere close to being fine,he lifted her from the floor  and  Amber despite the pain she was in ,wrapped her arms around his neck and raised her in an effort to kiss him,Ed remained stoid  as he gently laid her on the bed and left to get help to take care of her.

Immediately  Ed stepped out of the room to get help he almost collided into Mrs Williams who had put Amber,her beloved daughter up to this humiliation after she watched what played out at the dining during dinner, she immediately apologized to Ed,he told her to go check on his daughter who might have sleep walked into his bedroom “unknowingly “ as she might have cracked some bones and would need tending,Mrs Williams immediately rushed into Ed's bedroom  and saw Amber lying helplessly on the bed and then she called  her a moron for failing to seduce him.

Meanwhile Ed stormed outside into the courtyard to get some fresh air hoping it might do his wolf some good by calming it down and also think of how to get answers to the questions that has been burning in his mind all day ,he made his way down to the  stable,Ed likes riding,it  has a way of calming him whenever he is tensed which rarely happens  but today has been a different Ed,the thought of this woman has made him lose control over his mind and thought,everything in him yearns and screams for her.

The stable boy approached him as he came by a stop in front of horse Nine,which was nicknamed the “untamed” as it would rather have his way than obey command with its beautiful majestic white fur. When Ed told him to saddle untamed him,he told Ed that it was too stubborn that even Mr Williams  couldn't ride  untamed, Grey one insisted and he rode into the night with untamed, he made his way toward the orchid  he saw a form on a horse,few meters away  from him, he caught up and when he looked,he saw it was Rose.

Please stop,I need to talk to you,I mean no harm,my name is Edwin,what is your name?

With her eyes cast down inorder to betray her inner wolf ,she said “Rose"and rode into the night.
