Chapter 5

Alpha Williams who has been anticipatory since the event at the lunch wasn't surprised when he was told that Edwin would to meet with him and his luna before he left Hilly pack for an important discussion. 

Luna Williams when told about meeting muttered that she was grateful that Edwin has come back to his senses and realizes what a great privilege it will be for him if Amber were to be his mate.

Amber on hearing that Edwin wants to meet her family with her family became apprehensive from all the humiliation she has had to suffer in the hands of Edwin these past few days,she was not expecting much and would rather be left alone.

Rose,she was flat about it,ofcourse, her parents are never going to count her as one of them,she will not be at anyone's mercy. She will go about her business 

Edwin, now that he has gotten a hint of her identity,he will not let anyone treat her less than she deserves, he loves her and will make her his Mate, he will not force her to be his Luna,it will be her own free will. He will rebuke her parents for treating her the way they did and might even threaten to take away their partnership.

Robert knew that she must be special for her to have captured his brother's heart,there must be something special about her. Whatever decision that Edwin takes concerning her ,he will follow through ,he has never seen Edwin care such about someone or something outside of the pack. Rose must be the one.

Beta Tyrion knew how happy the news of Edwin having a mate will make Alpha Darius therefore,getting Rose for Edwin is a task harder than fighting a war with an enemy pack and he has to win this too.

 At breakfast, both families were seated except for Rose who has been strategically placed at the cow shed to milk them by Luna Williams . She hoped that Edwin might pick interest interest in Amber with Rose not being there. 

Alpha Williams who kicked against leaving Rose out was so fidgety that little sweats occasionally broke out from his forehead which he hoped won't be noticed by Edwin. 

Edwin addressed Alpha Williams and thanked him for his hospitality and being a consistent ally . Edwin asked him if there is no family member missing. Alpha Williams said none.

Edwin asked how many kids he has ,  luna Williams replied him “ just one child and a rogue “. At the reference of Rose as a rogue,Edwin blood boiled and he took a look at luna Williams through a dimmed eye and said ,

“I would love to meet with the rogue”

Luna Williams wanted to protest but when her mate saw the look on grey one's face he quickly answered “I will fetch her right away”.He called the Martha to go get Rose from the cowshed where she was tending the cows.

 Rose went to the tap to wash off some of the dirty on her ,removed her apron and came to the breakfast table.

You are Rose, the daughter of Alpha and luna Williams,  true or false, Edwin demands of her but Rose  kept quiet trying to understand what is happening. 

Rose with her mouth agape,went towards her family and stood behind Amber

And I ask you again, for the last time, are  you the daughter  of the daughter  of Alpha and luna Williams?,Edwin asked .

Rose instinctively nodded.

 Beta Edwin then asked her ,why are considered a rogue by your family ?

 

Rose opened her mouth to speak but nothing could come out.

Rose speak freely , I assure you, you won't get into any trouble ,why are you called a rogue?,Edwin compelled Rose to tell him.

 I will not have you humiliate my family,I am good for nothing, I do not understand things easily ,too stubborn and ugly ,I am my family's rogue and I do not need your help,Rose rebuked  Edwin.

I do not  wish to save you from yourself and your family,I want you to know that you are the most beautiful woman I ever set my eyes on,your stubbornness is my antidote and you are the best in Hilly pack. I will do nothing unless you approve of it.

If you say no,I will take your answer for it.

She knew she loved him and still in love with him,her wolf will always yearn for him,even right now, her wolf wants to wrap itself around his neck but her loyalty lies with her family,they may not have treated her right, what kind of wolf would she be if,she let's her family be humiliated by him,how will Nana feel in her grave?

Rose stepped forward to him with a pounding heart to tell Edwin to stay off of her and her family,the instant she opened her mouth to speak ,Edwin kissed her,drew blood by biting down so hard on her lips that she winced in pain,he let go,stepped back from her and addressed everyone in the room.

  My blood has been mixed with yours Rose,our souls and wolf's are now bound and tied forever,you are mine,you will be my Luna and I,the grey one will be your mate and Alpha,Edwin spoke with that silent tone of authority coupled with finality.

 Rose was still reeling from the shock of the unexpected kiss then came Edwin's pronouncements leaving her stunned,short of words and breath.

Alpha Williams still with his mouth agape looked like something that was trapped in time only to be woken by the scream from his luna.

  Nooo,your father,Alpha Darius promised you to  my Amber not Rose. Luna Williams then turned to Rose and said,” You must reject him,he belongs to your sister Amber”

I won't mother,I will not reject him,not because he is my saviour but,for the first time in my life,I will choose what I want, who I want and what I need. I am going to stand up for myself and do that which makes me happy. I accept to be Edwin's mate and his luna,I  am Rose, the daughter of Alpha Williams. 

 

With her mouth wide op3n,luna Williams became transfixed, then a clap from Martha,the servant brought her back to reality. 

 Amber hopped on her crutches to where Rose stood and said 

You dare to steal my mate, you defy mum ,I will so much are your life miserable you little rabbit you will crawl back into your hole never to be seen,sought or mated all your life I. Amber ,the daughter of  Alpha Williams promise you.

 

 Amber and luna Williams left the breakfast table to their various rooms while Alpha Williams stood up and came to Edwin and said “there was an agreement between your father and I,our first children will be each other's mate so as to help us foster friendship and unity of our packs, with a folded fist he went after his luna and child.

Edwin ordered the remaining people in the room to give them privacy ,he knew Rose has alot to say to him but he was ready to take it all ,his wolf is always excited when she is mentioned or around her,his wolf is always calm and a baby when around her,it becomes fierce and aggressive when she is sad or angry. Yes,she has a hold on him and his wolf loves it.

 Rose said to him ,Edwin ,my wolf is excited and loves being around you but I will not trade my family for you,I will have to reject you if you have been pledged to my sister, I love my family, Edwin.

Edwin came to her, wrapped his arms around her and told her, I know you love your family and have a duty to them,you owe yourself too, I will protect you ,I will love you to do as you pleases,your own freewill,If you reject me as your mate, be rest assured, I will honour your decision and let you be. I will never be with your sister Amber and would rather die without a mate. 

As Edwin spoke,Rose felt a knot tightening inside of her, she knew Edwin was in so afraid of her rejecting him and it would cause him so much pain,she began to feel every emotion that Edwin feels .

 Didn't she tell herself that she will not be at his mercy,she will not let him claim to be her hero.

What of the seer's prophecy Nana told her about?

If she reject hin ,how will she make Hillypack great and protect,if she put her feelings aside, being Beta  Edwin's mate will put her in a much better position to serve her people and elevate Hilly pack,her packs tie with Silverstone pack  will become more stronger and their continuous existence assured.

Still in that thoughtful mood,Edwin spoke to Rose “  I will take my leave now,when you are done contemplating,you let me know,come to Silverstone pack  or call for me” ,Edwin turned and left to begin his journey back to Silverstone pack and Rose torn with choice of accepting or rejecting him.
