I looked at my reflection with a frown. The left side of my face was covered with a dark purple shade bruise and the corner if my lips was slit and swollen.

The two slaps Haden had landed on my face had left their mark. Well past a week and a half since the night of the dinner, the bruise refused to leave.

Letting out a sigh, I carefully washed my face and walked out of the bathroom. Walking over to the bench seat by the widow, I sat down with a sigh and closed my eyes.

My life was becoming exhausting. Not once have I left my room after the dinner, fearing that I might run in to Haden or one of the Betas, if not all of them.

My meals were still brought to me by one of my brothers except for Atlas and Fang.

Steele has been visiting me quite often. Each time he came, he asked me about the mark on my neck and who it was.
