I stared at the shattered phone for what felt like hours, knowing that if it worked, I might be able to hear Raphael's voice.

The screen of the phone was cracked and the back cover was split in half. The battery of the phone was outside when I found it. I tried bringing it all together and power the phone, praying that it would work. But of course, it didn't.
