Mina Wolf...I looked at my reflection with a frown. The left side of my face was covered with a dark purple shade bruise and the corner if my lips was slit and swollen. The two slaps Haden had landed on my face had left their mark. Well past a week and a half since the night of the dinner, the bruise refused to leave.Letting out a sigh, I carefully washed my face and walked out of the bathroom. Walking over to the bench seat by the widow, I sat down with a sigh and closed my eyes.My life was becoming exhausting. Not once have I left my room after the dinner, fearing that I might run in to Haden or one of the Betas, if not all of them.My meals were still brought to me by one of my brothers except for Atlas and Fang. Steele has been visiting me quite often. Each time he came, he asked me about the mark on my neck and who it was.I knew deep down that each of my brothers knew who it was. Havoc already knew the mark belonged to Raphael. But the rest might be suspicious.Knowing I was
Raphael Stars....I woke up in the moring more energized than I have ever been. I left the main pack house before anyone else got up.Last night, I had shifted for the first time in ten years and had taken a long run. The run was fast. I was shooting through the woods like a bullet that Silver and Maxwell were unable to find me after they came to the woods to see with their own two eyes that I had really shifted.By the time I was done with the run, I was physically drained.I shifted back to my human form and made my way back to Zinnia's room. The second my head had leaned on the pillow, I was lights out. When Silver and Maxwell barged in to my room in the middle of the night, I was forced to kick them out with a promise of talking to them tomorrow. Both my wolf and I were exhausted from the shift and the run. I do realize that it will take time for the shift to be effortless, which was why I needed all the rest I could get before I woke up in the morning The sleep paid off.
Mina Wolf...Havoc and I sat in silence for a few minutes after I told him everything. His gaze was far away as he looked ahead, probably trying to digest everything I told him."So, there is a huge possibility that he marked you to save you from dying from Mika's rejection?" He asked more to himself that to me.I thought about the timing and realized that Havoc might be right. The exact time I was marked was the exact time the rejection came. Raphael might have been trying to save me and I ended up throwing it in his face. I ended up accusing him of marking me to keep me his captive. The guilt I was feeling at the realization was unimaginably great. It brought tears to my eyes.I should have listened to Raphael when he told me that he could explain. I still didn't understand the Wolves bane but he would have his own reasons. If he'd wanted to hurt me, he would have kept me in the dungeons and he wouldn't have risked a huge bind between the two of us to save me fr
I stared at the shattered phone for what felt like hours, knowing that if it worked, I might be able to hear Raphael's voice. The screen of the phone was cracked and the back cover was split in half. The battery of the phone was outside when I found it. I tried bringing it all together and power the phone, praying that it would work. But of course, it didn't.Letting out a sigh, I picked up the phone and dropped it in the top drawer of my nightstand before I switched the lights off and slid down the bed. Once I was under the covers, I settled on my back and closed my eyes, hoping to catch a break through sleep. But sleep never came.I was too worried to sleep.I was worried about Havoc. He looked pretty banged up. One of his eyes was badly swollen and there was a giant bump on his head that refused to settle. Atlas didn't pull any punches and the amount of time Havoc's injuries took to heal was proof of that.I was worried about my brothers. The knowledge of what Haden had forced At
Atlas looked at he car and then the bags Steele and Havoc were loading in the back seat of the truck. It was very obvious what was happening and I could tell that Atlas, and the rest of my brothers, already knew what was going on.His expression was just as emotionless and robotic as it always was but for once in a very long time, I saw conflict in his eyes.Steele dropped the bag he was holding to the ground, ready to defend Havoc and I if need be.Atlas stared at my bruised face and then down at my right ankle, which was in a cast thanks to the horrible break I suffered when Haden was dragging me down the stairs by my hair.Atlas worked his jaw, clearly not liking the situation."Atlas..." Havoc called our, probably hopping to convince him to let me go. But Atlas cuts him off and my heart broke a little bit more."Don't even come back here again." Atlas commented as he lifted his eyes to Havoc and then to me. "Neither of you are welcome here anymore."With that, Atlas turned around
Raphael Stars...My people and I were gathered in my study, discussing the new patrol rounds we wer going to start. My father, Silver, Maxwell and Kalven were a given in the study. The rest were the head warriors representatives who had different wolves under them. The pack has been quite for the past few days. There were no signs of attack and there was no activity in the woods behind the main pack house. I have some wolves keeping their eyes on Landor's territory just incase he tries something stupid again like last time. There are a few teenagers who will shift a few days later and they too were discussed. Newly shifted wolves need care and support on their first night and the run on that night would be dedicated to them. While we were in the middle of our meeting, a warrior barged in through the door."Alpha, I got a link from the eastern boarder patrol. They said a vehicle is approaching the pack." He commented.Getting out of my chair, I walked out of my study and the
The four of us walked back to my study and once again took our places.Havoc sat across from me as I sat down behind my desk. Silver and Maxwell sat by the couch in front of the shelf with their arms cross over their chest. My father remained by the window, looking out in to the woods but keeping his attention focused in to the study.I could tell that they were all confused as to why I was willing to sit down with Havoc after he'd blind sided me.I regarded Havoc for a few seconds in silence. He looked absolutely exhausted. From the way his shoulders cave in and the dark bags under his eyes, he looked like he could barely carry himself."What happened, Havoc?" I asked, wanting to know everything that made him decide to bring Zinnia back.Havoc had a far away look in his eyes, staring in to the distance." When Steele decided to rescue Mina himself, I couldn't send my brother knowing that it was dangerous. So I helped him and the rest of our brothers helped us. I tried to warn you but
Mina Wolf...I woke up after the sun went in and the soft glow of the moon was peeking through the window in to the room I was staying in.I felt a gentle touch on my lower abdomen, startling me. I let out a soft gasp and quickly sat up on the bed.The room was quite dark but with the soft glow if the moon, I could tell that someone was sitting on the edge of the bed next to me with his right hand stretched out towards my belly."I didn't mean to startle you." Raphael commented as he retreated his hand away from me.I looked out the window and then back to his shadowy figure."I slept the whole day?" I asked, more to myself that to Raphael."Pretty much. Beatrice tried to wake you up for Lunch and Dinner but you wouldn't budge." Raphael replied in a gentle voice.I felt him lean over to the night stand and flick the switch in, pouring more light in to the room.Raphael returned his eyes to me, looking at me as gentle as possible."How are you feeling, Zi?" He asked, reaching
