Mina Wolf...I looked at my reflection with a frown. The left side of my face was covered with a dark purple shade bruise and the corner if my lips was slit and swollen. The two slaps Haden had landed on my face had left their mark. Well past a week and a half since the night of the dinner, the bruise refused to leave.Letting out a sigh, I carefully washed my face and walked out of the bathroom. Walking over to the bench seat by the widow, I sat down with a sigh and closed my eyes.My life was becoming exhausting. Not once have I left my room after the dinner, fearing that I might run in to Haden or one of the Betas, if not all of them.My meals were still brought to me by one of my brothers except for Atlas and Fang. Steele has been visiting me quite often. Each time he came, he asked me about the mark on my neck and who it was.I knew deep down that each of my brothers knew who it was. Havoc already knew the mark belonged to Raphael. But the rest might be suspicious.Knowing I was
Raphael Stars....I woke up in the moring more energized than I have ever been. I left the main pack house before anyone else got up.Last night, I had shifted for the first time in ten years and had taken a long run. The run was fast. I was shooting through the woods like a bullet that Silver and Maxwell were unable to find me after they came to the woods to see with their own two eyes that I had really shifted.By the time I was done with the run, I was physically drained.I shifted back to my human form and made my way back to Zinnia's room. The second my head had leaned on the pillow, I was lights out. When Silver and Maxwell barged in to my room in the middle of the night, I was forced to kick them out with a promise of talking to them tomorrow. Both my wolf and I were exhausted from the shift and the run. I do realize that it will take time for the shift to be effortless, which was why I needed all the rest I could get before I woke up in the morning The sleep paid off.
Mina Wolf...Havoc and I sat in silence for a few minutes after I told him everything. His gaze was far away as he looked ahead, probably trying to digest everything I told him."So, there is a huge possibility that he marked you to save you from dying from Mika's rejection?" He asked more to himself that to me.I thought about the timing and realized that Havoc might be right. The exact time I was marked was the exact time the rejection came. Raphael might have been trying to save me and I ended up throwing it in his face. I ended up accusing him of marking me to keep me his captive. The guilt I was feeling at the realization was unimaginably great. It brought tears to my eyes.I should have listened to Raphael when he told me that he could explain. I still didn't understand the Wolves bane but he would have his own reasons. If he'd wanted to hurt me, he would have kept me in the dungeons and he wouldn't have risked a huge bind between the two of us to save me fr
I stared at the shattered phone for what felt like hours, knowing that if it worked, I might be able to hear Raphael's voice. The screen of the phone was cracked and the back cover was split in half. The battery of the phone was outside when I found it. I tried bringing it all together and power the phone, praying that it would work. But of course, it didn't.Letting out a sigh, I picked up the phone and dropped it in the top drawer of my nightstand before I switched the lights off and slid down the bed. Once I was under the covers, I settled on my back and closed my eyes, hoping to catch a break through sleep. But sleep never came.I was too worried to sleep.I was worried about Havoc. He looked pretty banged up. One of his eyes was badly swollen and there was a giant bump on his head that refused to settle. Atlas didn't pull any punches and the amount of time Havoc's injuries took to heal was proof of that.I was worried about my brothers. The knowledge of what Haden had forced At
Atlas looked at he car and then the bags Steele and Havoc were loading in the back seat of the truck. It was very obvious what was happening and I could tell that Atlas, and the rest of my brothers, already knew what was going on.His expression was just as emotionless and robotic as it always was but for once in a very long time, I saw conflict in his eyes.Steele dropped the bag he was holding to the ground, ready to defend Havoc and I if need be.Atlas stared at my bruised face and then down at my right ankle, which was in a cast thanks to the horrible break I suffered when Haden was dragging me down the stairs by my hair.Atlas worked his jaw, clearly not liking the situation."Atlas..." Havoc called our, probably hopping to convince him to let me go. But Atlas cuts him off and my heart broke a little bit more."Don't even come back here again." Atlas commented as he lifted his eyes to Havoc and then to me. "Neither of you are welcome here anymore."With that, Atlas turned around
Raphael Stars...My people and I were gathered in my study, discussing the new patrol rounds we wer going to start. My father, Silver, Maxwell and Kalven were a given in the study. The rest were the head warriors representatives who had different wolves under them. The pack has been quite for the past few days. There were no signs of attack and there was no activity in the woods behind the main pack house. I have some wolves keeping their eyes on Landor's territory just incase he tries something stupid again like last time. There are a few teenagers who will shift a few days later and they too were discussed. Newly shifted wolves need care and support on their first night and the run on that night would be dedicated to them. While we were in the middle of our meeting, a warrior barged in through the door."Alpha, I got a link from the eastern boarder patrol. They said a vehicle is approaching the pack." He commented.Getting out of my chair, I walked out of my study and the
The four of us walked back to my study and once again took our places.Havoc sat across from me as I sat down behind my desk. Silver and Maxwell sat by the couch in front of the shelf with their arms cross over their chest. My father remained by the window, looking out in to the woods but keeping his attention focused in to the study.I could tell that they were all confused as to why I was willing to sit down with Havoc after he'd blind sided me.I regarded Havoc for a few seconds in silence. He looked absolutely exhausted. From the way his shoulders cave in and the dark bags under his eyes, he looked like he could barely carry himself."What happened, Havoc?" I asked, wanting to know everything that made him decide to bring Zinnia back.Havoc had a far away look in his eyes, staring in to the distance." When Steele decided to rescue Mina himself, I couldn't send my brother knowing that it was dangerous. So I helped him and the rest of our brothers helped us. I tried to warn you but
Mina Wolf...I woke up after the sun went in and the soft glow of the moon was peeking through the window in to the room I was staying in.I felt a gentle touch on my lower abdomen, startling me. I let out a soft gasp and quickly sat up on the bed.The room was quite dark but with the soft glow if the moon, I could tell that someone was sitting on the edge of the bed next to me with his right hand stretched out towards my belly."I didn't mean to startle you." Raphael commented as he retreated his hand away from me.I looked out the window and then back to his shadowy figure."I slept the whole day?" I asked, more to myself that to Raphael."Pretty much. Beatrice tried to wake you up for Lunch and Dinner but you wouldn't budge." Raphael replied in a gentle voice.I felt him lean over to the night stand and flick the switch in, pouring more light in to the room.Raphael returned his eyes to me, looking at me as gentle as possible."How are you feeling, Zi?" He asked, reaching
Mina Wolf...I looked outside of the window, hoping to catch the sight of the moon. My heart was thundering in my chest.I reached up and pressed my hands against my chest, feeling how wild my heart was drumming.Today is the day.Dropping my hands, I looked towards the mirror.Dressed in a floor length, sleeveless green dress and my hair falling around me, I looked ready for my mating ceremony. This scenario felt quite familiar. But the difference is that the nerves I was feeling wasn't from fear, it was from excitement. It's been two years since the first time I met Raph, which was not in the best situation. And now, two years later, with our twins recently turning one, we were going to officially take each other as mates.Even though everyone knew we were mates, we wanted to keep the tradition.Havoc came to get me and the two of us made our way out of the main pack house and walked over to the large field where the ceremony will take place in the open. When we got there, I saw that
Raphael Stars...They kicked me out. They freaking kicked me out of the front room. I paced outside of the pack hospital, wanting to barge in to the front room and be by Zi's side. But angering Monika even more is probably not an option. It's been four hours and the sun was slowly coming up. Every single time Zinnia screamed, I could hear pain in her voice. Sweat was covering my entire body."Relax man, she'll be fine." Havoc commented and I couldn't stop myself from glaring at him.Havoc stood with his arm around Okla, looking all cozy when I'm about to lose my mind.Zi screamed again and I was close to marching myself back to the door when I heard a baby cry.My heart skipped a beat at the sound."Come in." Bear called out and I quickly ran in to the front room to see Monica holding a little bundle."Cut the cord." She ordered, seeming a little bit calmer than she was when she kicked me out.Bear offered me the medical scissor and I slowly cut the cord."Congratulations, Alph
We stood outside of the main pack house, about to say goodbye to my brothers.Last night had been one of the best nights of my life. Everyone had a blast, including my brothers. But now, it was time for them to go back.Their car was prepared and ready to go, I just had to say goodbye to them, which I didn't want to.Atlas looked at me, that same old robotic expression on his face. "Stay safe, Mina." He commented before he gave me a pat on my shoulder and walked away. I watched his climb in to the drivers seat of the car and close the door.I wish he would have at least given me a hug. We might not see each other again."Let him be, Mina. Atlas is allergic to his emotions." Blaze commented as he opened his arms and wrapped them around me.I hugged him back, taking in his brotherly love."Now, make sure you're safe, Okay Mina. Constantly worrying about your whereabouts is getting exhausting." He chuckled before he pulled away."You too , Havoc. Stay safe brother." He added as he gave
I woke up when someone placed their hand on my shoulder. Slowly pealing my tired eyes open, I looked at Raphael, who was smiling down at me.What a great thing to wake up to."Wake up, Zi." He whispered before I saw him leaning in to press his lips against mine and gave me a quick kiss.He pulled away a bit and offered me his hand. With a soft groan, I took his hands and he helped me sit up on the bed.The new room we were in, which was Raphael's old room before he and I started sharing a bed, was lit up.Not by actual lights but by his aura. Raphael felt light and that gloomy cloud that always followed him around no longer bothered him. I was happy to see that my Luna powers workedEven though it was exhausting, the training I had with the elders finally paid off.I looked towards the window and finally realized that it was night time. I let out a startled gasp before I returned my eyes to Raph."I slept the entire day?" I asked, to which Raphael nodded his head."You should have wok
I leaned against the head board of Raphael's old bed as Monika looked at the cut on the side of my swollen belly.Raphael sat down next to my feet, looking at the bloody X mark with a glare. I felt a bit uncomfortable with all the stares. Not Raphael's but the rest of my brothers.I glanced towards the window of the room and looked at my five brothers standing with their arms crossed over their chests and their back leaned against the window."You guys don't have to be here, you know." I commented. "You should get some rest. I'm sure you're tired.""We're fine." The reply came in a collective mumble, bringing a small smile to my lips."I know we're making you uncomfortable." Blaze smiled at me. "But it comes with the package of having too many older brothers. Deal with it." I gave him a playful glare before I looked at all of them."I'm fine, if that's what you guys are worried about." I commented, the smile still stretching my lips."We'll leave once we make sure you're okay." Atlas
Raphael walked around Haden's body and started walking over to me. He took off his shirt and wiped the blood off of his hands as much as he could before he reached for me.Sliding his hands around my waist, he slowly pulled my up to my feet and hugged me close. My knees were a bit weak so I leaned on Raphael, wrapping my arms around him and hugging him back. "Are you okay?" Raphael asked, leaning his chin against the top of my head."I'm fine." I replied, nodding my head a bit.Raphael pressed a kiss against the top of my head before he pulled away a bit and pressed his right hand in my belly. He avoided touching the X mark as he caressed my baby bump. I watched as he closed his eyes and focused on the baby, trying to listen to the heart beat.At the very moment, our baby kicked against his hand and Raphael opened his eyes to look down at the spot.It felt like our little one was telling us he was fine as well.Raphael leaned down to press his lips against mine, giving me a short ki
Mina Wolf...My head was pounding and my vision was getting blurry. The X mark my very own father carved in to the side of my stomach was burning. The second he'd pushed the blade against the side of my baby bump, I'd screamed bloody murder, begging him to stop. With what Haden did to Selin, I knew he would do it to me too.His mad laughter continued as he drew the X, saying that would be the spot he'll start at when he finally cuts my baby out of me.What a horrible and terrifying thing to hear?Everything still felt like one horrible dream. One second, Raphael was walking out of our room to get me my sandwiches. The next second, Luca was barging through the door.I didn't have enough time or speed to react when he marched over to the bed and slammed a lamp on my head.I was too busy maneuvering my body and trying to move away from him with my large belly dragging me back when he'd launched himself at me.I don't really remember much from there, other than the fact that th
I looked down at the map stretched in the dining room. We'd moved here because my study wasn't bug enough to hold all of my people who wanted to help. The bandage on my shoulder was getting soaked with blood but I couldn't care less. Monika and Bear had advised me to rest and not move my shoulder as much as possible but of course, their words were met with ignorance.Rest? No, that will not be possible, not until I find out how they managed to get in without getting detected and how they manged to get out with Zinnia."Maybe they took her to Landor's territory." One of the warriors commented but I shook my head."Landor's territory is locked in." Silver commented, looking at the map with fire in his eyes. They also took Megan and Silver was the first to speak against Monika and Bear's advise. Raphael can rest when he dies, he said. We need to get them back.Silver is right. We've been locking Landor in his pack, preventing anything and anyone from going in and out. I wasn't willing t
Raphael Stars...I walked out of the bathroom, drying my hair with a small towel.Zinnia was sitting on the bed with her back pressed against the headboard, her legs stretched out above the covers and her hands rubbing at her large belly.I couldn't stop my lips from stretching in to a soft smile as I looked at her."Barely six months and I look like I'm about to burst." Zinnia commented with a small pout. She's been saying that almost every night and every morning this past three weeks.Zinnia is right though. Her belly is growing at an alarming rate.Bear joked that she might give birth to a bear. Zi didn't think it was funny. With how small she is, it kind of scared her. Which was why she's been a bit annoyed too easily lately. But, no matter how scared she claimed to be, I always catch her caressing her baby bump with such loving and tender touch.I walked over to the bed, dropped the towel on the nightstand and sat down next to her.Reaching out, I gently caressed her belly
