Chapter 48 A kiss

Kamara moved away from him. She flinched away, as though his contact had disgusted her.

"I would have found my children if you hadn't taken so long." The alpha was struck in the heart by the words, which were like jagged knives.

With a saddened expression, he questioned, "Are you saying I'm at fault here? We might have located them if you hadn't invited Louis to come here."

Hearing his charges made her fury boil. "This isn't a game, Caiden. Whoever finds them does not even matter. All I want is my kids back.

"Why don't you go ahead and find Louis then?," shouted Caiden. "They'd be with him now, right?"

Nate observed that Caiden was staring at her angrily, so he moved in between them with the intention of calming things down. "I apologize for interfering, Alpha, but don't you think your accusations are a bit over the top?"

Caiden paused and seemed perplexed before saying, "This time, I do not agree with you, Nate," he exhaled, his breath labored, “and I am right.”
