Chapter 21

I’m extremely sore the next day. My ribs are throbbing something fierce. I slowly hunch my way to school, and I’m shocked when I walk into first period to see Jet standing there.

I’m just about to tear him a new one when my three other targets walk in. They instantly take precedence over Jet, for the moment at least. I narrow my eyes at Andy, Sam and Nash.

“How nice of you guys to join us.” I tap my fingers on the desk.

They all gulp and shrink in their seats.

“What’s up, Lily?” Nash carefully asks.

“You know the usual,” I casually say. “Three bruised ribs and one fractured one sure did make the journey to school painful. It would have been awfully convenient for me to have an ultra-strong werewolf prince as my mate, or be friends with two other werewolves. Because you know if I did have one, surely he would’ve stopped and asked if I needed help.” I set my death glare on Andy.

He gives a slight chuckle, “Oops? I forgot, Lily, I’m sorry.”

I slap my hand down on the desk. “You’re sorry?
