I entered the bedroom, and my eyes landed on Thelma's husband, lying on the bed, engrossed in his phone. A bright smile lit up his face, and I could tell he was chatting with someone. He looked up, caught my gaze, and his expression turned sour. "What are you doing here?" he growled, his tone dripping with disdain.

"I'm sorry for not knocking. It's just that I–"

"I'm not asking why you didn't knock. I'm asking what you want," he cut me off, his eyes narrowing. "Why are you even in this bedroom, or do you plan to seduce me or what?" He raised an eyebrow, his gaze piercing.

My eyes widened in shock as I shook my head vehemently. "What? No, not at all! I'm here because Thelma is injured, and I need the first aid kit."

He shrugged, his expression nonchalant. "I can't help you. I don't know where that is. Tell her to come and find it herself."

His dismissive tone infuriated me, but I bit back my retort. I just couldn't believe he acted that way despite me telling him what happened to h
