CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO

My heart ached as I watched Eden suffer from the effects of the silver burns. His usually strong, formidable presence was diminished, his body covered in searing wounds that seemed to glow with the silver poison.

Although the injuries were healing, thanks to his powerful wolf nature, the recovery was painfully slow.

Each breath he took was labored, and his eyes, which were always filled with fire and determination, now seemed dull and exhausted. Aaron was equally drained, the effects of the silver weighing heavily on him as well.

Despair settled over me like a heavy shroud. Seeing my mate, the Alpha king; who had always been a symbol of strength and invincibility; reduced to this state broke my heart.

I knew I needed to act, to save him and Aaron, to save myself. There must be something I could do. But every time I tried to use my powers of command, nothing happened. It was like Alpha Alfred had sealed my commanding power within these walls.
