CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

SARA

The forest seemed endless, a vast expanse of towering trees and dense underbrush that stretched on for miles.

For two days, we had been trudging through the wilderness, our footsteps silent on the leaf strewn ground.

We had no clear direction, only the instinct to move forward, to put distance between us and the dungeon we had escaped from.

Each step was a struggle for Eden. His strength, sapped by the silver burns and the tortures he had endured, left him weak and unsteady.

My heart ached as I watched him stumble, his eyes hollow with pain and fatigue. I was tired too, my body protesting with each step, my growing bump making the journey even more exhausting. But we kept moving, driven by the need to find safety.

Suddenly, a memory sparked in my mind, a flicker of hope amidst the shadows. I remembered the house Eden had taken me to, a secret haven where he goes when he wants to escape the burdens of his duties as Alpha.
