The door flung open after the third knock and Rita was standing at her dorm door step wearing a large nightgown that looked like something out of an old movie.

“You look stunning” I said and she sighed, rolling her eyes at my obvious sarcasm.

“Boy, don’t start”

“What? Someone has to tease you”

“Now that Nico isn’t going to huh?”

I sighed. She looked so unhappy and it hurt. The entire situation was weird and was hurting both my friends.

Nico was not willing to let me in and help out but I was hoping that Rita would be more open and receptive.

“Can I come in?” I reached into the bag that i held in my left hand and pulled out a bottle of brandy that I made Collin buy and a bag of weed, “I come bearing gifts”

She chuckled and shook her head. Usually she was the plug of the group but I didn’t mind switching roles for the mean time.

“How did you manage to find weed, Alex?” Her voice sounded lighter albeit still sad.

I shrugged.

“I don’t get it,” I tossed my phone on my bed and groaned in frustration, “He isn’t replying my texts and he’s not answering the phone either.” Nico, my college roommate and one of my best friends sighed as he spun himself around on the spinning chair placed next to the study desk. “Dude, it’s obvious that he’s blowing you off and probably blowing on some other guy while he’s at it” I tossed a pillow at him and he laughed as it made contact with his face. “Don’t say that” I scolded, “Julius likes me way too much to do any of that” Nico shook his head and hugged the pillow. “You know you can do way better than him, right?” Better than Julius? He was the golden boy of Heldon college and indisputably one of the wealthiest and most attractive guy on campus. Not to mention how he touched me the way nobody else could. It was so easy for him to see through me and turn me on. So who exactly is supposed to be better than him? I could hardly think of any other person.

  • Teach me to sin   Two: Alex’s POV (The breakup)

Heldon College was built in the early 90s as a private university for the children of the elite. You had to come from a long line of money to attend but I was the exception. I was an orphan desperately searching for a way out of the foster home system when I received a mail that I had been granted a scholarship into Heldon College. Only one in a thousand students got that opportunity and I was lucky enough to have it. All the financial aspects of schooling at Heldon was taken care of. I didn’t have to worry about that. The only thing that was expected of me were good grades and behavior. Four years at Heldon and I have to admit that asides having to deal with the intense feelings of being an outsider, I love it here. Nico and I were in his car and on our way to where Julius stayed. The campus was as large as a small town and had all the things you’d find in such places. Because of how large the school area was, it was usually best to drive to your destination as walk

  • Teach me to sin   Three: Alex’s POV (Love sucks)

“Is he still feeling like crap?” Rita asked as she walked into I and Nico’s dorm room with a somewhat large vanilla cake she had bought. I rolled over on my bed and covered my head with a blanket. It had been a week since that night with Julius. Safe to say that I have been severely under the weather. It didn’t make sense for him to act that way. Was it something I did? Was it because I was an orphan with no money to my name? This was my first relationship and I hated that it had to end the way that it did. Nico sighed. “He’s been this way for a while now. I don’t think he’s been going for any of his classes” “I don’t want to go. What’s the point when I know that I’m going to bump into him again?” I asked and fought back tears. I had cried so much that I was certain that any more tears would make me ill. Rita sat on my bed and gently stroked my covered head. She was always a nice person and as much as I was grateful for her and Nico trying to cheer me up, I really w

  • Teach me to sin   Four: Alex’s POV (A night you won’t forget)

The music from the speakers were loud enough to stop me from hearing myself think. I stayed close behind as Rita and Nico led the way. Rita had made sure that we were dressed impeccably and that really boosted my mood. At least I was not looking like the way I’ve been feeling. Rita herself looked really beautiful tonight and I noticed that Nico had not taken his eyes off her once. He was definitely smitten. “Come on, let’s go grab a few drinks!” She yelled as loud as she could and I followed them to the bar. Three shots of vodka were presented to us and we made sure to down the contents at the same time. The warm liquid burned my chest as it traveled down my body. It felt good nonetheless. “Let’s go dance!” Nico and I were already being dragged to the almost crowded dance floor before either of us had the chance to object. It was such a relaxing feeling; having the time of your life with your best friends in a room full of strangers. It made me laugh and let the mus

The sunlight peeked in through the curtains and hit my eyes. I immediately got up and when I turned to my side, the handsome man that had slutted me out the night before lay asleep beside me. I quietly got out of bed, picked up my clothes that had been thrown in all corners of the room and put them back on. Luckily, I was able to locate my wallet and placed it into my back pocket. Before I stepped out of the room, I took a brief moment to take in the image of this beautiful man sleeping peacefully. In another universe, we were probably lovers and instead of sneaking out of his hotel room so early, I would wake up to breakfast in bed and he would tell me stories of his adventures when he was my age. Maybe in another life. I rushed out of the hotel building and booked myself a cab that would take me straight to school. I had my ID on me so they would be sure to let the taxi through. I had overslept and missed two classes but I knew that if I got ready fast enough, I would

The lunch area, well one of the various lunch areas at Heldon was designed elegantly with comfortable seating arrangements. The walls are adorned with artwork that cost quite a lot of money thus creating an atmosphere of inspiration and sophistication. The place was well-lit, with large windows offering a view of the beautifully manicured college campus.Several students interacted with one another, majority of these interactions based on networking and connections. Sometimes, it was sort of sad to see people not develop any real relationship. It was one of the few things that I was grateful for when it came to Nico and Rita. They genuinely cared for me and the smiles on their faces as I took my seat at their table showed that. However, no amount of smiling could ease my tension. I had slept with Rita’s sister’s ex husband and now I find out that he’s going to be lecturing me from now on.How was I going to face this? There was already no way in hell that I was going to tell them

I sat in my spacious office, behind my desk with my head buried in my hands. • Teach me to sin    EIGHT: TRISTAN’S POV (A bit strict)

I stood at the front of the classroom filled with students, lecturing on ancient civilizations. It was officially my second week at Heldon and in that time I had made my mark as the handsome, no nonsense professor. Mathew’s warning was still fresh in my head. Be careful with the students, especially the girls. I needed to make sure that I was nice enough to be fairly approachable but strict enough to pass across the message that I did not play like that. “Ancient Indus Valley civilization dated from around 3300 to 1300 BCE, developed advanced urban planning with sophisticated drainage systems,” I said with my usual loud voice, “The creation of intricate jewelry and an undeciphered writing system unique only to them. This writing style consisted of over 400 symbols with meanings still unknown till date” My eyes scanned the room and landed on Alex and his soft, perfect features. I quickly looked away and continued my lecture but at this point I was consistently stealing glance

The first thing that I felt was the warmth. Not the one from the expensive, wool blanket, but from the heat of his body. I cracked my eyes open, the rays of the morning sun and the blur of a strong arm and a handsome face was the first thing I saw. Toby snuggled closer, he was still fast asleep, his dark hair, which was usually was silk and laid back was a mess on the silk pillow, a faint smile playing on his lips.He looked so adorable and I smiled as he pulled me in and buried his face in my neck. I remembered the previous night. We had talked so much over wine that I didn't even remember when I fell asleep.I shifted slightly, trying to get a better look at him. He looked a lot different than I was used to. He looked so much more natural and it was nice to see. It felt like I was staring at the real Toby."Morning, sleepyhead," he mumbled, his voice rough and sexy, "How long have you been looking at me""Morning," I replied, my voice a little breathless. "How can I tell?""Cause

The Bentley glided to a stop, outside one of the highest ranking boutiques in the state. Toby had asked me to clear out my schedule that weekend because he wanted to take me somewhere nice. I sank into the plush leather seat of the car, the relaxing feel enveloping me. It was like being cradled in a very expensive, very soft cloud. Toby sat beside me, his eyes glued to his phone even though he did look up a few times to smile at me. He looked as handsome as ever.He was dressed in very casual yet expensive attire. “We’re here, Master Toby” the chauffeur announced. Toby turned to me, his smile radiating warmth. "Ready to help me spend my money, darling?" I managed a small laugh. It felt nice to laugh for the first time today. I had been under the weather a lot lately. I really liked Toby but I hated that being with him meant that I had to sacrifice my friendship with Nico. Three missed calls. Five unread texts. I had heard absolutely nothing from Nico. I pushed th

“Hey” I peeked my head into Nico’s room. He had moved out of my room back to his and according to him he just needed some time alone. He still had not opened up about what happened with Rita but I knew that was the reason. He most likely wanted to cry without any interference. Nico was sprawled on his bed, face buried in a textbook; literally. He placed the textbook on his face and lay unmoving, My friend was definitely depressed. I wish that he would let me in. "Hey, man," He replied without moving. I walked into the room, my shoes almost sinking into the overpriced carpet. “I haven’t seen my buddy in a few and you haven’t come to bug me in a minute,” I began trying to keep my voice casual. "How's it going?" He didn't move or take the book off his face but replied. "Fine." "Just...fine?" I pressed, sitting on the edge of his bed "It’s just that I’ve been really worried about you” “I just told you I was fine” I sighed. I might as well just spill the beans. “Rita told

  • Teach me to sin   Twenty Eight: Tristan’s POV (I want him)

The lecture had ended, but I lingered behind as I usually did. To everyone else, I was putting a few things in order but that was just a facade. Hiding under the pretense of tidying my notes I used the chance as an excuse to watch him. Alex. I had my eyes on him the entire time during class and sometimes I had to pause and write on the board whenever I felt his eyes on me. I had never been so immersed in another human being the way that I was with Alex. He was gorgeous and so smart. He moved with an effortless grace that made my breath hitch. He had such a beautiful smile that made his eyes sparkle. Even if I knew that I only did it out of fear of the being exposed and punished for sleeping with a student, I still mentally kicked myself for telling him to forget about happened between us. I watched him say hello to a few of his peers a smile playing on his lips before walking out with Nico, his friend. Even if I was aware of their platonic relationship my chest still

  • Teach me to sin   Twenty Seven: Alex’s POV (Everything is weird now)

I sat in Professor Tristan’s archeology class, surrounded by the hum of students chatting in low voices, flipping pages, carefully texting and stressing over our upcoming midterms. Today, Tristan was diving into the intricacies of ceramic analysis and how it made up a crucial aspect of understanding ancient cultures. Professor Tristan spoke in his usual loud, commanding and passionate voice. He was always this way when it came to teaching. On a regular day he appeared very passive and lacking in emotion. It made him very desirable yet highly unapproachable. The only time to catch him with passion in his voice and eyes was when you were around to hear him speak on a subject that he liked. Whether it was the way he spoke about it or his body language, I found his passion for the subject was contagious. As usual, I found myself captivated by his enthusiasm. But then again, I had always been captivated by him. It didn’t matter how much I tried to push him out of my mind, h

“That must have really broken their hearts” I said with a smile as the three girls that had approached Collin walked away. “Serves them right,” Alex said folding his hands, “They didn’t even say hi to the both of us. How rude can a bitch get” “You sure that’s why you’re upset, Alex?” I asked with a mischievous smile on my face. He frowned and scoffed. “What? You think I’m jealous?” He asked. “I mean, they were flirting with your baby boo” I replied. “I’m not jealous” “I don’t mind if you’re jealous,” Collin placed his arm around Alex’s shoulder, “I think it’s kinda cute” Alex blushed and slapped Collin’s arm. I won’t lie it was really sweet to see. I glad to finally see my friend so happy and in love. I was glad to see the way that Collin looked at him, talked to him, smiled at him. It made it ten times better that he was a huge upgrade from Julius. A loud bang on the table startled all three of us. I looked up to see two of Collin’s pals. Larry Myers and Har

“I’ll be at the cafeteria later. Nico and Rita will be there waiting” I smiled at the text from Alex that popped up on my screen. He had spent Friday night and the whole of Saturday with me. It felt like heaven when I had him next to me, my arms wrapped around his small frame. His smile was so bright and infectious. Every kiss, every touch, every laugh was pure bliss. When he went back to his dorm earlier this morning I wanted him back. He was so addictive and I wondered what Julius was thinking when he called their relationship off. Lucky me I guess. “Okay then,” I replied, “I miss you already” “Lol. Come get me then” That was all that I needed to hear, I leaped off my bed, took a quick shower and began jogging to the cafeteria. I almost laughed at how I was half running to go meet Alex. I was no playboy but I had not exactly been with anyone that made me excited to be around them. Nico was on his way out when I had arrived, he looked upset. “Hey, Nico” He smi

I ran into the somewhat noisy cafeteria; one of my friends and I’s favorite hangout spot at Heldon. I spotted Rita seated at our usual spot when our eyes met she smiled and waved me over. “Hey Riri” I said as I settled into the booth, grinning from ear to ear, and dropped my bag onto the floor. The soft thud of the bag hitting the floor was a familiar sound, one that announced the start of a relaxed morning with friends. Nico arrived a few seconds after I had and settled into the booth of the cafeteria next to me. It was a bit odd that he didn’t sit next to Rita like he usually would but I didn’t think too much of it. “Hey, Nico” I said. “Hey man,” he replied, his tone low and perhaps tired, “You look like you’re in a good mood” I sighed dreamily. “I really am” “Was it really that good?” Rita asked and I nodded. “It really was” I replied. I noticed that Nico had not said a word to Rita since he arrived but before I could draw any attention to it, Nico said. “Y
