Reece My heart kept thudding as I did the last button of my dress shirt. I was visiting Darren this morning immediately after breakfast, so we could figure out away to defeat the shapeshifter demon who had become a really horrible pain in the ass. I couldn't help but clenched my jaw in anger each time I remembered, she had killed Liam the one person who could help us with information about the hacker, and as if that wasn't enough she had equally burnt down his house, in such a way that not even a fragment of his computer system could be made out. Sighing for the umpteenth time,I made my way out of my room, just as the door beside me sprung open revealing Evelyn, as my heart skipped a beat and Kyla instantly sprang up within me, begging to be released. I didn't want to do that because if I were to go down that lane with her they was going to be no going back, plus I had a far bigger problem, which was the Shapeshifter demon. "We will see when I get back. Don't push it". I hissed stomping off, only to find Ryker already waiting by my car door. I narrowed my gaze at him. "I thought I should follow you, it isn't safe going to the enemy zone alone". He mumbled, as I nodded, this was indeed so thoughtful of him. Before I could even form a response Evelyn angry voice sounded from behind me. "You claim it isn't safe going to enemy land alone, whereas what isn't safe is going with someone whom your not sure what their true motives are. A wise man once said the devil you know is better than the angel you don't". Ryker flinched a bit at the harshness of her words as I spunned to face her, setting her a straight glare. "I know Ryker as I know the back of my palms, we've been best friends since we were children, and if there's anyone I should be cautious of, that person is you Evelyn, I don't know what you father plan was for forcing me to marry you, but I assure you, it will never come true, so stop with the incredulous act, and mind you own damn business". I hissed, as I rounded my car and hopped in, alongside Ryker. "Maybe you should be a little less harsh next time, she only seemed concerned". Ryker mumbled, as I shook my head. "She's an enemy, and she had already shown me her true colors, she doesn't care one bit. Besides talking about her is the least thing I want to do at the moment. I'm so confused, how do I even raise ten million in a week". "We will figure it out. Besides Darren is your inlaw, he surely would not be so cruel to not help you". I let out a chuckle.
