Reece A loud noise from downstairs captures my attention, as I instantly sprung out of my bed, and from my room, descending the stairs. "There he is". One of the men in the living room growled, as my eyes darted around to find twelve other men, likewise Ryker and Evelyn. "What is going on here". I snapped. "We need our salaries Alpha. Our wives and children have slept hungry for far too long, we need you to pay us our salaries so we could provide for our families. You've been owing us for the past three months, and had promised to pay at the beginning of this month. But is three weeks into the month,and we are yet to receive our payments. We won't die in silence Alpha, you can't be living comfortably in your home with everything at your feet, while we your workers perish". The man who had previously spoke, yelled, as I felt a guilt in my heart. My pack was large and I was owing more than 1,000 workers, how was I even ever going to pay them, when I was bankrupt and had no single money. Inhaling a sharp gaze, I flicked my gaze to Ryker. "Which category of workers do they belong to". "They are representatives, from all our workers". He stated courtly, as I sucked in a sharp breathe. "I need more time, the month isn't over yet you would all get your money back". I snarled, as the worker who seemed to have led the demonstration chuckled. "More time. More time you say. Fine, we will give you time but only because you are Alpha and we respect that, but if by the end of the month we don't get out money's it won't be a peaceful demonstration like this one". He threatened, before spunning to face the rest of the workers, and in a blink they all left. "Fuck what do we do Ryker". I blurted, as I paced back and forth, pinching the bridge of my nose. "If only we had found the hacker, then atleast we would have gotten half of the money back but as things were I really do not know what we could do. The only money we have left is the money you received as gifts from your marriage to Evelyn, which isn't even up to quarter what you need". Ryker stated, as my heart sinked in my chest. Was I doomed or what? "How much is the money". Evelyn blurted, as I darted my gaze to her. I actually forgot she was here, and why was she even asking, it wasn't like I'd ever borrow money from her father. "I'm not asking Darren for any kind of assistance and I don't want you to either". I hissed, as she starred at me blankly. Out of the corner of my eyes I could feel Ryker sharp gaze on me, I knew the offer was a good one and he wanted me to accept it, but I wasn't. "Is not my father money. How much is their salary, I want to clear all of it". She asks, once more, causing me to laugh, really laugh. "Is exactly ten million dollars, I bet you have the money". I spat, my voice dripped with sarcasm, as she nodded her gaze never leaving mine. "Yes I have the money, and you don't even need to pay it back". "Wait what. You have ten million dollars, how is that even possible". Ryker prod, joining in on our conversation. "It's simple. I've been saving". "Are you sure about this, you don't need him to pay you back". He questioned, his eyes darted with uncertainty, but within the short time I've known Evelyn, I knew her too well to know she was dead serious. "Why do you want to pay back the money. What's your purpose for doing so?". I questioned, genuinely wanting to know the reason. Could it be Evelyn, Darren daughter had fallen in love with me, I hissed, but the inquisitive part of me just wouldn't let this kind gesture of her slip. "Are you paying the salaries because of me, to save my face from shame". She chuckled, a bitter one. "Like I would ever do anything for you. I'm doing it for the pack. Innocent people are suffering, they need the money and I have it, so why not give it out to them". "Well I really do not know what to say". I say honestly, still unsure this was truly a reality and not a dream; Evelyn paying off all my debts. "Then don't say anything". She murmured as she spunned to leave, but halted beside Ryker; "Send the name and details of the account I'm to transfer it to". She hissed, and with that stomped off. "Fuck Reece. That girl is an angel, I can't believe she's going to pay off all the debts just like that. Are you sure this isn't some kind of trap by her father or has she fallen in love with you". I chuckled. "What can I say, the Moon goddess knew I would need a supportive force who could help me in this trying moment, and sent her to me as my gift; as my Luna".
