CHAPTER 33

"Ahmm, I’ll step outside for a moment," Reed said to them, holding back his tears. He didn't want Clarisa to see him crying. As soon as he left the room, his tears began to fall uncontrollably. He could no longer hold them back. Why, out of all the people in her life, was he the only one who disappeared from his wife's memory?

“Clarisa, you’re here in the hospital because you had an accident. You hit your head and were in a coma for almost three weeks," the doctor explained, waiting for Reed to leave completely before speaking.

“Huh... is that true, doctor? But I'm okay now, right?” Clarisa asked, shocked.

“You have amnesia. You sustained a severe head injury. Actually, I expected this to happen, which is why we need to conduct a series of tests on you.”

“How can I have amnesia, doctor? I remember my mom, dad, Grandpa Miguel, and my friends.”

The people in the room exchanged looks before responding to her.

“But you don't remember your husband, dear,” Grandpa Miguel answered gently.
