*BRIANNE’S POV*

“Do you know the consequences of shielding a traitor?” Jordyn asked, his voice firm and authoritative. “Not only will my council take action against me, but your pack will also come after silver-black and I don’t want that,”

The mysterious man let out a scoffing sound. “Let me get this straight,” He started. “So, you mean you won’t be helping me?” He paused, awaiting a response but only silence greeted him.

After a few seconds, I heard his voice again, but this time it was darker and colder than before. Each word seemed to hang in the air like unspoken malice.

“Fine,” He said, his voice dripping with venom. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you,”

With that, I heard heavy footsteps storming towards the door, making my heart skip a beat. I frantically scanned the area for a hiding spot, my eyes darting around the empty hall. I quickly scrambled into a corner, holding my breath and hoping I wouldn’t be discovered. I didn’t want to get caught eavesdropping.
