Chapter 59

*BRIANNE’S POV*

The sun was blazing hot as I stood at the edge of the training field. I watched as wolves, in both human and beast forms, fought against each other.

Dust kicked up around then, and the sound of fists connecting with flesh echoed in the air. I should have been focused but my mind kept drifting elsewhere.

I kept dodging punches from my sparring partner, but my attention always slipped away. Every time someone growled or shifted, my heart pounded…not out of fear, but from impatience.

Jordyn—I needed to see him. He was all I could think about. My muscles ached, sweat dripped down my back, but it wasn’t the physical strain that weighed me down. It was the gnawing anxiety about the conversation I needed to have with him.

I couldn’t concentrate on the drills, or the shouted commands for the instructor. My body reacted on instinct, moving when necessary but never fully engaged.

The idea of seeing Jordyn consumed me. I had to tell him about Marcus. That was at the front of my
