Chapter :09

             Nicole Pov 

Nella had informed me about what transpired between the siblings, while we rode anxiously to Spiral restaurant, I was thinking about what might happen if we get there and did not find Alex or what if she hasn't finished with the meeting yet?

Janella is not ready for another heartbreak!

So many thoughts kept running through my mind as I drive silently.

I don't want Nella to get hurt because of this. 

Then Nella suddenly interrupted my thoughts.

“Até, we are here at the restaurant,” she said with her voice echoing through my thoughts, then I jerked back to reality and straighten up my dress.

“Oh! Yes! Let's go, Alex must be waiting for us ” I tried to feign a smile to hide my nervousness.

We were ushered to a well-furnished table, where some slender figure was sitted, we got closer and behold it's was Alex, she kept her promise 

“hi, Até”, I greet giving her a peck.

“looks like someone is trying to impress us ”, I whisper to Janella.

“Sure she is trying to make it up to us” the waiters brought the menu and we ordered varieties of food and bottles of wine and some juice for Nella, we ate silently observing the laid-out table manners. After we finished lunch, Jenelle urges Alex to tell us what's going with her.

“Nicks, I'm or raising my voice at you. I know you want the best for me, I mean to hurt you at all but I did, and am sorry for it you've been such a wonderful friend to me, Alex apologizes almost close to tears I couldn't help but run over to her engulfing her in my embrace and cried with her. Nella interrupted our bonding moment with an exclamation.

“Not fair áte, don't I deserve a hug too? She queries with a sarcastic tone.

We laughed at her hilarious question and drew her into a group hug.

Alex explained to Nella and me that she was fine, just hard to get over what she felt towards Michael and all the long explanations that accompanied it, but I knew that wasn't the only reason why she has been skeptical, as if she read my mind, she sent a text promising to tell me the whole truth.

Erika's extreme action didn't surprise me much but I was a bit saddened by her manipulative actions. I had always known how selfish Erika can get I didn't expect her to go to the extreme.

And do you think he will love you by pretending to get attacked and stitched up? I didn't even realize when this damn question left my mouth.

I have always been an obedient slave to Erika's order and had done everything she wanted me to. Her family is one of the most powerful in the country, my father works under her father, so she expectsexpectsbe grateful to her for choosing me as a friend but I can't continue watching her display her evil ways.

“You are nothing but a killjoy, Arabella snapped at me before I could raise another question.

You have always had problems with everything that we do, okay now tell me, what is there to be regretful about? She inquiries expecting an answer but I didn't have the strength to counter-battle here, so I watch as she helps Erika to take off the bandages from her body.

“Nanny, nanny, she shouted, get me a bottle of wine and glasses, I have to celebrate.

“Don't celebrate too soon, baby girl,  wink at her while walking out.
