Chapter:05

NICOLE'S POV

Daniel and I were just chatting excited about how we were able to arrange the estranged couples meeting and hopefully, they might settle their differences, just then I saw a slender figure ran out through the exit door hastily , I knew right away that there was trouble, and I am in a bigger trouble.

"Alex, where are you going? we haven't had lunch yet? ”I questioned pretending to be unaware of the reality hoping to avert her anger.

Are you coming or you can walk your way home?she asked without any form of emotion in her voice.I know my friend, if I press any further, she wouldn't think twice before dumping me right here, when she gets angry, she forget every person.

hey, wait , I'm coming with.I quickly hopped in, you can't blame me, I wouldn't wanna be left behind under this scorching sun.

I never thought that you are so shameless, she said with a Stern look on her face, how could you beyray me like me that Nicole? you made a fool out of me w,she said driving fiercely as if she's being chased by a gang of hoodlums and the atmosphere inside the car, didn't make matter any better, we rode silently all the way to her house. I tried breaking the silence but she didn't wanna talk to me, I wonder why she is so impassioned.

DANIEL'S POV

I was started by the angry expression on Alex's face, I knew something must have happened between them, I watch them until they disappeared into thin air , then I ran into the bar and found Michael sitting dejectedly like someone who has been defeated by the demons.

I moved closer and cuddled him on his shoulder expecting some reaction , but he didn't even raise up his head , he was just starring into the space when I least expect it, he mumbled some alarming words.

How do you mean ? I queried trying to get the real Michael out of him, and it worked , he jerked back to reality with that cold aura that always surround his presence.

Alex couldn't look me in the eyes, she seemed scared. when she saw me, it was almost like she never expected to see me around her for some unknown reasons, she kept pushing me away from her ,he uttered this word with an air of melancholy surrounding him, his sight at this very moment made him look like a total different person , this is really unbelievable ,what could be wrong with Alex? I thought to myself.

ALEX'S POV

what Nicole did was really outrageous, I thought she is the only one who understands me but no I was wrong , she went ahead to trick me to go out with her, to make Michael and I crossed paths .

I got down from the car, without uttering any  single word to her, I ran into the living room , when I was about to ascend the stairs , she shouted with all her might bringing me to a halt in process

Alex ,what's exactly is wrong with you?why are you being so difficult? what is going on with you? Why are you acting so strange? Why are you pushing us away from you? She questions breathelessly .

there's nothing wrong with me , and I would really appreciate it if you can stop meddling in my affairs, stop trying to be my mother, I would really appreciate if you will know your place and stop acting like my mother, stop acting like my mother Nicole, I angrily yelled at Nicole and made to leave for my room again, then she spoke.

wow Alex, you deserve accolades for reminding me, that my position is just that of a friend, yeah,you are right.she uttered with a choking laughter through gritted teeth .

I'm sorry , I overstepped my boundaries, it would not happen again, I promise, she took her bag and gave my little sister(Janella) a peck and left in anger. I watched my bestie leave without making any attempt to stop her.

it really high time I tell her about the secret , the secret that has been hurting my love ones and pushing them away from me.

telling them means endangering their lives, what should I do ? I'm so confused,I sighed in distress while pacing around my room with my hands Akimbo ,and my mind in a deep thought
