Chapter:06

JANELLA'S POV

I watched the drama unfolded with my own eyes but it is still hard to believe that both sisters who have been inseparable ever since they were young had a big fight, to be honest, Alex has been acting all coiled up even before her breakup, she doesn't want to talk to anyone or want anyone to ask her questions about herself, Alex has become so different from her bubbly and cheerful old self.

sometimes, she seems scared and locked herself up in her room, and sometimes, she yelled at me for no reason, I have tried so many times to talk, but she wouldn't listen to what I had to say. I know my sister, she was never this vicious. I have to talk to sister Nick about this. I took my phone from the table nearby where I had kept it earlier, and dialed her number. I waited patiently, after buzzing for what seemed like an eternity, she picked up.

"Hi sister, I quickly said before she hangs up the call, thinking that it's Alex calling.

"Jane? why are you calling so late at night? is Alex alright? what happened to her? Did something happen to her? Is she fine?  she kept asking a series of questions without giving me a chance to speak.

"Até, Alex is fine, I interrupted her before she ask another question.

"Why did you call? you scared me! I was almost running nuts thinking that something bad has happened to her”.I yelled in frustration, touching my temple which has become so sweaty due to the fear and anxiety I felt earlier.

"Até, it's about Até Alex, I think she is in trouble and she is trying very hard to keep it from us, I think, we have to do something about it, before it's getting messier and the problem is she is not willing to share whatever the problem is with anyone, or did she tell you anything?”, I explained keenly without a moment of interruption.

"how about we meet out for lunch tomorrow, we could discuss over launch, don't worry too much about it, we will handle it, just take care of your até and don't forget to take care of your health. it's already late, go have your dinner and go to bed”, she urges hastily, which makes me kinda feel weird about her behavior.

"Good night até (I hesitantly ended the call.

ARABELLA'S POV 

I sat beside Erica's bed and watch her, as she sleeps soundly after hours of restlessness, I couldn't help but try to figure out exactly when Erika became this weak, I  mean she has always been a fighter, the warrior singer when it comes to being brave, and a fighter she deserves awards for this, she has never given up a fight before, and now? did she attempt suicide? it's impossible, what is going on in her mind, what the fuck is freaking her out? I blurted out my thoughts. This is not the Erica Buenavista I used to know,  the Erica I know will give up everything and everyone, but will never accept defeat and now! This Erica wanted to give up her life! For what exactly? What is freaking going on, I ask directing my questions to no one in particular

RACHAEL'S POV

standing right here in the kitchen, my thoughts drifted to Erica, I can't help but wonder what happened to that bitchy part of her, the Erika I knew would never think of hurting her or giving up her desires for anyone else, she could do absolutely anything just to get her way, she was a definition of maleficent but her obsession towards Michael is indeed driving her crazy but I'm sure, this craziness will not last long, if she recovers, she will make life a living hell for Alex and everyone involved with her.

I know Erica very well, when she decides she wants something, she will do anything and everything to get it, The Erica know would indulge in all form of pernicious to achieve whatever she sets her mind on, I remember what she did years back.

FLASHBACK

in Manila metro college,

group of three girls known as the (Era Girls) walked callously into the classroom, without paying attention to the professor, right in front of the class, they walked to their seat, the three girls shares a seat.

Erica was busy with her phone, Arabella was so engrossed with her romantic novel to notice the lecturer and the scaredy-cat Rachael was just too scared to Anger the professor so she paid attention  after a few minutes of total silence, the professor asked a question directed to the two estranged girls

*what is the element of engrossment during a performance?” the professor  Alcantara asked with his hands at akimbo, hoping for a good reply from the girls.

“excuse me? I didn't get your question, both girls queried with disgust written all over their faces.

*I said, what is the element of total engrossment during a dramatic performance, he repeated emphasizing each word.

*and how would we know? you are the professor right so you should know, go get yourself enrolled for another course, I don't think you are good at what you are teaching now, ERICA replied with a contemptuous look.

the entire class burst into sarcastic laughter when a young beautiful girl by the name(Rhian) stop up and answer the question posed by the professor, suddenly everywhere became calm, the students struggled with one another to see the girl, Who double-crossed ERICA by answering the question and there she was ever since that day, ERICA became calamitous towards Rhian, she did everything to hurt her then Erica found out that Rhian was getting closer to Micheal, her long time crush, Erica was very angry, and without hesitation, she had Rhian kidnapped, she was tortured, beaten and was almost molested but due to the constant pleads from Ara and I she waved the idea aside.

She kept her locked up for two whole weeks and through these weeks, she threatened her life and that of her family and finally set her free. 

When Rhian left her captivity, she disappeared into thin air without a trace. She has hurt so many innocent people because of her infatuation called love that she had towards Michael, Arabella and I are both witnesses to her evil deeds. even if she was caught in the act, her father, Gov Buenavista, who is the governor of Metro Manila will have everything covered up.

FLASHBACK ENDS

so you see, I'm sure she had a motive behind her attempt on her own life. she is too selfish to give her life for anyone, she has used us as bait to catch her fish before so I wouldn't be surprised if there is more to this than meet the eye, I ruminate pacing around the kitchen in circles.
