Chapter: 07

 JANELLA POV

It's already 7:am by the time I woke up, I quickly got ready for school, well, yeah I'm still in college, in my final year to be precise.

I went downstairs to have breakfast, the maid has prepared everything, all my favorite dishes.

“Wow Adobo! ” I exclaimed at the sight of Adobo laid out on the table.

“My day is surely going to be awesome today ” I muttered under my breath.

“Nanny Carlota! Where is my até? I asked, hoping for a positive answer.

“Your sister is still in her room, she has still not come out of her room ” she replied, dropping the jug of juice on the dining table.

“Should I go and inform her that breakfast is ready?” she asked after dropping the jug.

“No, don't worry, I will do it !” I reply standing up from my seat.

I walk skeptically towards my sister's room, when I got there, I stood frozen at the of her door unable to knock.

These past few days, I get sscaredabout how she reacts, the other day I caught her yelling at nanny Carlota. She had never done such a thing before.

She was never the type that acts like a spoilt brat, and all of a sudden, she became a vicious bitch. What's more, she is not ready to tell anyone, including até Nicole or I about the situation she is in.

Finally, I summoned courage and left a soft knock on the door, but there was no reply coming from inside of the room. I knocked a few more times but still the same negative reply, I held the knob, squashes softly, and slowly slide the door open, I was welcomed by the sorry state of Alex on the bed.

My sister is a ghost of her old self.

I swung into action and exclaimed with excitement, moving towards her bed.

“Magandang Umaga até!! (Good Morning sister ”, I exclaimed beaming with joy, and hoping to cheer her up.

“And who asked you to enter my room without my permission Nella? , who gave you such rights! 

“Haven't I warned you to knock before entering my room!? ” Alex fumes with anger, while still laying on the Queen-sized bed, but she turns her face sharply to look at me.

“Since when did I permission to enter your room? , moreover, I knocked at the door several times without getting a response, then I decided to check on you, Alex!” I retorted.

“There you have! , you can see I'm perfectly fine, you can fucking get outta my room, now ” she fired at me, then sat up on the bed, waiting for my exit.

I wanted to leave her room as quickly as my legs could carry me, but then  I remembered that if I don't tell what was on my mind, then my entire day would be spent in anger. 

I turn back to look at her, then spoke up.

“You know what Alex? ” I called out to her, without disgust and anger wwrittenenall over me. 

“I'm not sure I know you anymore, I don't even think I know you! You were never like this, you were a celebrity with a difference, and suddenly! You are acting all bitchy and causing everyone pains.   You don't give a damn about what you've worked so hard for, you let every contract signed the past few months slip out of your hands, and you are acting like you don't care.

“You decided to lock yourself up all day without paying attention to every fucking contract you signed up for, and now those bugging producers kept freaking life outta me all day long, and here you are sulking like a baby over a simple break up, ...

Smack!

Before I could complete my statement, I was interrupted by a fierce slap, I turn to look at her with an ittfittedeth when I stare into those hazel eyes of hers, I could see remorse in them. I knew she regrets hitting me, but I won't give her the pleasure of specifying me, I need her to snap out of it. 

With a dry laugh on my lips, I swerve around exasperatedly with my hand on my cheek, I ran out through the door in tears.

                         ALEX POV 

Oh my gosh! What have I done?

“I hit her, I raised my hand to my little sister, whom I have always been protective off, and now? what has come over me?

“What is wrong with me? I slapped myself hard across the face.

“I'm supposed to protect her, Dad and mom will never forgive me if anything happens to her. I have to get a hold of myself, and I also have to face my feat and fight back!” 

I said with determination, looking at my image in the mirror.

I gave become so lean and thin within a few weeks of break up.

I hesitantly walked into the bathroom, I spent close to an hour there, I sat in my bathtub, shut my eyes, and allow the water to coax the pain in my heart, after spending a long time, I came out of the bathroom with a towel draped over me. 

After staring at my reflection in the mirror, I got ready to meet up with the producers, whom I had signed a commercial contract with. 

“Now!, I'm going to let that son of a bitch know what I'm made of, Janella, don't worry I'm not going to allow them the joy of seeing me down struck” I indulgently spoke to myself while sorting out my clothes, I found something simple and classy to wear. , I rolled my hair into a twist, just the way I like my hairdo, and made my way out of the room, walking downstairs, and yes less I forget, I need to pacify the baby. 

I chuckled at the thought of that. 

            JANELLA 

After I came out of Alex's room, I took my bag and was about to storm out of the house, but my nanny insisted I had breakfast before leaving.

I was picking at my food when I noticed a  descending figure, I rejoiced within knowing that my words had effects on her and she got her lazy ass outta the damn room after several days.

I pretended to be focused on my food, trying to avoid her gaze, which landed on me the moment she steps into the dining hall.

“ wow, adobo! 

“ Thanks, nanny ” she exclaimed upon seeing the variety of food laid out on the table

“Is there something special happening at our house today? Why So many delicious dishes” she asked no one in particular, and I kept mute eating my food silently.

She drew out a chair, sat on it, and took a few morsels of her meal, before finally speaking to me.

“Hmm, Jane? , I'm sorry for what I did to you earlier, I didn't mean to hurt you that way! ” she apologizes making an innocent face and I refuse to react to her. 

“Are you still mad at your até(sister)? I said I'm sorry, please forgive your big bus, I will never try to hurt you ever again. Oh! You can choose to punish me if you want, I will gladly accept my punishment ”

Alex said, and my mind lit up upon hearing her declaration.

”Okay até, I will let this go, but on one condition," I said emotionlessly.

“And the condition is what, baby? 

“That you are going to take até Nicks and me out for lunch today, até will send you the address. are you in or not? , it's your choice ” I said without mincing my words, then I shrugged my shoulders, focusing on my food again.

She thought for a while then, she replied “sure I will do my best, is that the only condition? Then, fine! I have to go, I have a meeting with those buggy producers. See you later, she stood up with her bag and left.

After she left.

“yes! 

I exclaimed excitedly leaving the dining hall, I ran to take my phone and inform até about it.
