Raven
Alexa stands in front of us. I stretch slightly and get ready. “Right ladies, the audition is split into three dances. The first one is burlesque, if you don’t have experience in it, don’t worry, just do what you know. If you can dance we can teach it. The second one is dancing using the pole, and the third is dancing together. I need to see how you do when your space is limited. During the final dance, you can leave the stage, dance around tables and such.”
That is all fine, I’ve done burlesque and pole dancing, I’ve also danced with ladies before so I should be fine.
“We want to see how you react to an audience, hence there are some guys here. If you struggle to audition with a few men watching, you won’t succeed when the place is full. Any question?” She looks at us waiting.
“Yes, the first and last dance. Is the pole off-limits?” I need to know, if not, I can incorporate it.
“No, if you are dancing and can fit the pole into your routine even for one move, use it. The dances show us how you do without a planned routine. Anything else?” I look at the other women, rolling my eyes. They should be asking questions. I know that though, from going to too many of these auditions.
“Yes, the ad did not state the types of clothing that will be worn, or if the dances involve stripping. Even if you end up in lingerie? Also, the advertisement didn’t mention touching. Is it a strict no touching the men, or dancing on them, or can you touch while dancing?”
Alexa nods and smiles.
“I was hoping someone would ask. I left certain details out of the advertisement to see who knew their stuff. For most dances, you will either wear a corset or similar to dance in. Or, you will have an outfit on, a short outfit, which you strip off until you’re in lingerie. As for touching, you can dance on a man, such as a lap dance, but we would rather if you didn’t stroke along them using your hands. You can place your hands on them to steady yourself.”
She smiles at me like she appreciates that I asked.
“Anything else Raven?” She looks at me, not at the other women.
“No, I think I covered everything.”
“Okay, Em, you’re first.” We come from the stage as the first woman dances, and she looks amazing. It’s clear the women here can dance. The second dancer kept missing a beat, but clearly through her nervousness. Lucy, the third dancer panicked before even starting and ran. I’m now standing watching Rachel, I’m dancing next. The music starts and she begins to dance, having no issues, I watch the men whistling and trying to grasp her and see her freeze.
She can dance but doesn’t know how to handle handsy men. Which isn’t good. I watch as she panics before crying and running off.
“Raven?” Alexa looks at me. I nod getting on the stage, I like that they chose the music, it means no one could have planned their routines. The music begins and I listen to the beat, slowly moving, as I dance around the stage, I hear the men whistling but ignore them perfectly while not being ignorant.
I fall to my knees near them, my hips rolling. I feel a hand grasp me, turning I smile at him, shaking my finger and tutting, causing him to laugh and stop touching. By the end of the dance, I’m smiling too much.
“Points for that round, usually the lowest two leave, but two left so we won’t be kicking anyone. Raven, 10, Em eight, Lucy 3, I listen to the rest of the points, smiling that I got top marks. “Remember, the men are the customers. Some will try to touch you, but how you deal with it and react is what matters. You can deal with it in several ways, but if you freak out, they will laugh, you will miss your next moves and everything goes to shit.” She looks at us.
“If you will not be comfortable with this, I suggest you walk now.” I watch as Lucy stands and walks out, Alexa rolling her eyes. It’s clear too many people are not ready.
“Right ladies, Pole dancing time.”
The rest of the audition goes well, two women are sent home after pole dancing. After the final dance, it is just myself and Em. I watch as Alexa discusses things with the others.
“Are you new to the area?” I turn and look at Em and nod to her. “Figured, didn’t think I had seen you before. If you want to get to know some of the locals, tonight there is a party. This is the address.” She hands me a piece of paper. “You look like someone who likes to drink and forget.” She laughs and I nod.
“Okay, ladies. After discussing everything, including your scores. Raven, welcome to our family.” She smiles at me and the other women clap. “Sorry Em, but feel free to try again next time.” I watch as Em walks off. Alexa introduces me properly to the women, before offering me a drink.
“Hey.” Turning, I look towards a guy, he was the one who grabbed my leg. “I’m Rob, I usually work on the floor watching over the women.” Ah, so he isn’t a customer.
“You played the customer well.” I smile and he laughs.
“I guess seeing them every day helps. Welcome to the family, it was clearly from the get-go that you were getting the position, asking the questions that were needed and such.” He grins and I sit talking to him, I wait and meet other dancers as they come in to get ready for their shifts.
I start tomorrow, I feel excited, it is far better than any other club I had previously worked at. Saying thank you and goodbye, I leave, deciding to drive to the party that Em had told me about. I need to meet some people local, even if I know I won’t be staying long. If my dad is anything like my mother, we will be moving at least twice more this year.
RavenI stop outside the large house. Great, rich people. The garden is flooded with people, and all the lights are on in the house. The music is loud as I drive in and park up. Walking through the garden I look around. While it’s a rich person’s house and party the guests are far from that. The guests help ease my worries, I know I won’t stand out here.I smile seeing three women wrestling in the mud pool, people lounging around the pool. Someone is even jumping off the roof into the pool. I can’t help but laugh as I walk through. I go unnoticed, just how I like it I see a couple in the corner clearly having sex. While the location and the host are rich, their expectations are clearly not. Stepping into the house I hear the roar of laughter from people and the chanting. I walk through the rooms, grabbing a drink from the box along the way. Most would hate this. Hate that there is no one here they know, but the fact is I don’t even think the host would know everyone here. I see the me
RavenThe sound of someone screaming my name seeps into my dreamless sleep state and awakens me. Stumbling from the bed, I walk out and see him standing there looking at me annoyed. I guess I am going to see him more than once in a blue moon, so I need a name.“I never got your name.” I don’t fancy calling him Dad, he isn’t.“Dave. Look, I need you to clean up through at the other house.” He holds out keys and I laugh. My eyes clash with his. Wait, he’s serious?“Raven, do as you’re told for once. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom need cleaning. I need to go, behave and have it done and you out without an hour.” Turning he walks off. So I have a choice, I can not do it and get shit from him, or do it and give in? I have just got here, so I at least want to get settled before any major arguments.I walk through to the other house and begin to clean his mess. It’s clear from the contents of the rooms, that he had another woman here, which means this all ends soon again. I’m doing this p
I have been here for a week, and other than my dearest father I haven’t seen anyone. I’m seriously beginning to wonder if my dad lied. Where is his partner and her sons? Something doesn’t add up. I sit and watch Ava serving the drinks. I met Big Bear, he’s far from big. He’s small and thin. He’s nice though, like an old grandpa. It’s clear that he cares for Ava as well. In a way a father should.Dancing on my stool to the music, Ava begins to swing her hips slightly as she walks behind the bar. It’s new, somehow I am having an effect on her, she’s more relaxed and hell she’s dancing, even if it is just swaying her hips.Today it’s busy though, some of the punters are clearly bikers, and some aren’t. It’s clear the club doesn’t lock its doors to those outside the biker community, then again, customers are money, even those who don’t have bikes. I glance at the table close to us hearing a laugh. They are clearly on a stag night and are morons, but I promised Ava I would behave and keep
GraysonStopping the bike I climb off, and walk into the club. Ashton and Emmet follow me. I watch as Big Bear looks up at us, and waves us through. Walking around the bar we go into the office and sit.“All good. No major issues, and nothing to point out.” He states and hands us the sheets, I pass them to Ashton and he flicks through the numbers.“We might have a new barmaid for you, one who actually uses bikes.” I look at him and his head shakes. He won’t like it, but it needs to be done.“No, I get it is your place and shit, but no. We don’t need to replace the barmaid, she is fine.”I laugh at his words. “Fine? Last time we were in here she couldn’t handle the customers, a woman with more balls would be better.” I have seen this Ava a few times and the last time she struggled to control the guys. She needs more control, dominance, dare I say it fucking confidence“Well, it isn’t an issue anymore. I’m here more to help out, and her friend isn’t afraid to kick asses either.” I look
RavenLast night was a good night, in the sense I had no nightmares. I need to get some new clothes, as much as I hate spending money as it delays me moving out, I need new clothes. After stepping from the shower I grab my clothes. Putting on the bralet and thong I walk out of my bathroom to my bedroom. As I turn to put music on I scream, jumping back and throwing everything in my reach at the fucking spider.Hell if there is one thing I fear, it’s fucking spiders. They are my kryptonite, after the devil himself laughed in my face, I fear these fuckers more. The door slams open, and I turn expecting Dave but instead, it’s the Caddel brothers. My calm only lasts a second as I see the spider move out of the corner of my eye and I scream running behind them for protection, my arms gripped onto Grayson.“Erm, what the fuck?” He looks at me confused.“It’s a fucking spider! A big one.” I point towards it and hear one of them laugh, I watch who I believe is Emmett walk into the room and cap
EmmettWe watch Raven leave, and we walk through to our mother. She looks happy, stupidly fucking happy.“Mother.” Grayson walks in and sits at the table.“Grayson, look after her please.” Our mother looks at him and he stares shocked.“She’s not a child, she can babysit herself.” He looks at her annoyed.“That may be, however, something tells me there is more beneath the surface and she hides it well. There is only so long that booze and sex can hide those things though. I can see it in her eyes.”Those things? We all look at her confused and she smiles.“It isn’t my place, and to be fair I only know because her father left out some things about her. You boys be nice to her, I mean it.” Her words are stern. Shit, she does like Raven, I want to laugh, as in reality, Raven is someone who doesn’t belong near us.“Sure, for a month then they will be gone,” Grayson states and I groan, here we go again. Why can’t he keep it shut around our mother?“Don’t Grayson! Dave is a nice man.”“Nice
RavenI wait until I hear all three doors close then walk out and grab a bottle of vodka, going back to my room I drink until I pass out, hoping that it blocks the nightmares. It seems to, as when I wake the sun is up and my body hurts. So I slept for a while then.Stripping off my clothes I walk to the bathroom and shower. My mind on last night, the brothers now know my secrets, or at least know I have some. That needs to be the end of it, I can’t have anyone else finding out the truth.I made mistakes, I know I did, and I will forever carry around the guilt and darkness that those mistakes caused. The death will cling to my back and never release its grip. Getting dressed my mind is still replaying everything and I feel sick, I can almost see and smell the blood. I can’t drink yet, not enough to drown it out anyway. So, dancing will have to do. The music fills the room, ‘Foreplay’ by Shensea the soundtrack I opt to dance to.I learnt quickly, that dancing is great, but often the lyr
AshtonAfter Raven ran, and quickly I might add we didn’t speak for a while. It’s clear whatever happened in her past haunts her and she isn’t willing to open up about it.Grayson is adamant we don’t go digging, even if we got answers. Apparently, it’s immoral and wrong, even if we could possibly help after. So, we will wait, either our mother will tell us with time or Raven. He seems to weaken for Raven, sure he gives her the cold shoulder, but had that been anyone else, we would have her past in our hands to know everything about her.“We need to leave.” I look up confused by Grayson’s tone.“You mean leave, leave right?” Fuck, we just got home a few days ago after sorting issues out.“Only for a night or two. Mark has had issues at that club. We will get there sort it, sleep there and finish up tomorrow hopefully.” He stands and waits. We have bars and clubs in other cities.“What about Raven?” I don’t like leaving her alone with her dad.“What about her Ashton? She’s not a fucking
