Chapter 6: Rejection of Rei
“I’m sorry I wasn’t good enough, But I tried to be. I tried to change everything about myself, till I didn’t know who was ‘me’. Turns out, you never did care, Cause you never saw you and me as ‘we’.”THIRD PERSON’S POV
“Stop howling like an idiot dog, Rei!” Amaia grunted in annoyance as she can’t concentrate on doing monthly reports on her laptop.
Rei looking at her with sad eyes, as she wanted to say something. She doesn’t want Amaia to berserk in anger. Amaia has anger issues and it might be difficult to step on her lines. She will do something terrible making the mansion guards and maids result in begging to go home. Rei let a low sad growl and lean his white furry head on the black carpeted floor.
Amaia didn’t bother to look at Rei. She continues her work, so she has nothing to do in her office tomorrow. She will just entertain her scheduled patients. She is a Professional Clinical Neuropsychology. A highly specialized psychologist who focuses on the science of human behavior as it relates to the nervous system. Amaia has reasons why she chooses that field of work.
“Rei? Would you lessen your snore, please?” Amaia gritted her teeth as she was almost full of annoyance, because of Rei’s loud snore. As she can’t control her rising anger, she strikes her desktop table making it into a half while her laptop falls on the carpeted floor with a broken screen.
“Heaven of Wolves!” Rei was surprised by the loud banging sound. Her unique eyes glowed, widely shock from the sudden outburst of Amaia who is looking at her full of hate.
“Ama-ia… what did I—“
“Out. Get out of this room, Rei.” Amaia’s voice was colder than the usual of her tone. Rei didn’t understand why she gets angry that’s why she leveled her innocent gaze at her.
“Why keep on showing that hate to me, Amaia?” Rei feeling hurt by what she acts. As always Amaia keeps on pushing her away. Amaia just looks at her with colder eyes as her hazelnut eyes are full of anger.
“Don’t consume all my limits for you, Rei. Get out! And please do not bother me! You just let me remember my terrible past!” Amaia shouted in anger, her eyes full of rage. Her face reddened, crumpled her fist, and gritted her teeth.
Rei’s pain tripled as Amaia said the words she didn’t want to hear. She is a wolf but her heart was like a human, opposite to the attitude of Amaia who can’t control her rage. She wanted to cry; almost her tears will fall at the peripheral vision of her eyes.“Okay. If that’s what you want Amaia. I wouldn’t face you until you order me to do so. Even the words you said hurt me more. Still, my decision was the same. I will stay beside you.” Rei’s words were a bit shaky, fighting her will to cry.
“I said, get out! I don’t need your stupid comforting words!” Amaia shouted again and there Rei shakes her head-turning her back at her.
But before she leaves Amaia’s room, “If I have no care for you the day I came to your life, I swear your life will be more miserable and evil. Your attitude should be like that right now because I know in the end you still have a choice to change…”
Amaia was left dumbfounded as it hits her ego. Rei didn’t look back at her at all. She stayed like a statue for an hour looking at the door where Rei passed. None can read how she feels. No one can tell if she feeling sad or hurt. Because she never gives a chance to let them see what she truly is.
As Rei going to her huge pinky room. Unlike Amaia who loves black and white, Rei loves the color pink. That’s why her room has a girly color. Wil really did took care of her and give her a luxury comfort.
Rei’s tears fall from her unique glowing eyes. As she can’t control it anymore. She was in pain and she doesn’t know the ways to make Amaia change. She weakly climbs on her large pink soft bed, closing her glowing eyes remembering the most painful day that happens to both of them.
FLASHBACK (18 years ago)...
As the little white-haired girl Amaia runs faster out of the forest where the enemy is. She loses her balance, making her feet stumbled at the big roots of Cupressus Tree. Her unbalanced body rolled down at a hilly side of the forest, going down to the river. Before her body meets the water, her head hits the big rock making her unconscious. Her body floats at the big outflow of the water down to the city of Human Town.
As she was being unconscious for three hours. Her body was now found at the riverside near the Forbidden Forest of Human. She began shaking like she was having sudden convulsion seizures. Her skin was so pale, her eyes began to dilate but it was changing color from blue and gold. Her skin started to show white fur but it just keeps on fading. Her body started to curl like her bones are moving on the inside wanting to transform. Her teeth showing sharp canine and her feet and hands started to show sharp claws. But the suffering of Amaia made her wake up. Her eyes open again but the color of it was full black. She was floating in mid-air while battling her inner side. Shouting on a cold night, gritting her teeth with the full range of anger.
She was in full pain, torture; all the kinds of pain making her embrace the darkness. She knows it is her wolf spirit trying to connect with her. She hated the wolves and her little body cannot carry the kind of power her wolf has. She thought the werewolf's wolf spirit will come when he or she turns 18. But, she wonders why she’s feeling her now? She wasn’t ready nor didn’t she want her.
“Ahhh!” Amaia shouted as the veins on her neck are now visible, she was in a part-shift wolf. She was fighting her for an hour until the Light of the Moon in the sky becomes blue and red. A thunder of lightning bombarded the whole city of humans and the parts of the Werewolves, making them wonder and afraid. For the werewolves, it is a sign of Revenge, Full of Enrage and Death. They started to feel the goosebumps as the Moon letting the incoming Chaos come to them. As the long thunder and lightning were gone together the painful scream of Amaia. There she falls on the ground with her new appearance and her spirit wolf having a white wolf form.
When Amaia was awake, she can’t feel any emotions except the full wanting of Revenge. The memory she already has as it flashes the terrible moments of her night. She was feeling different. Her white-haired color becomes black, her bluish eyes change to hazelnut color. She already has a void emotion. And when she saw a huge wolf form beside her there she gritted her teeth full of anger seeing their kind. She knows it is her wolf, and she has no plans to keep her. Her kind was one of the reasons and she doesn’t want to embrace her fully, making her spirit-wolf give a Rejection to become one.
“Leave me alone. Don’t try to stick with me. Or else I will end up killing you.” Amaia’s sweet and innocent voice changes to a colder one. She bravely stands even how worst her situation is.
“Why reject me, Amaia? You know what will be the consequences if you truly want to kill me.” The wolf speaks softly but her pain was visible. Her eyes were glowing the left was a color blue while the right was a color of gold.
“It is for the better. Your kind kills my parents. And you have no right to connect with me as one.” Amaia keeps on walking out of the Forest. Rei pitied her so much. Even she will be in pain always. Rei doesn’t want to leave her.
“I am Rei, Amaia. I am you and you are me. We are one. I will always stick on your side, no matter how painful it is for me to see you rejecting our existence.” Rei sadly speaks, silently praying to the Moon Goddess to give her strength and guidance towards the difficult path of Amaia.
