When Lucas had returned I had fallen asleep on one of the sofas around the fire place, its warm embrace lulling me into a deep dreamless slumber. My body sank down into the soft cushions like I was floating on a cloud. The feel of the fire against my skin was a comfort to me now, a friend welcoming me home.

I woke to feel Lucas' strong arms sliding underneath me lifting me up into his arms. I instinctively snuggled against his chest only to recall in disgust at the strong smell of rotten eggs clinging to his skin and drowning out his familiar scent if wood smoke and citrus.

“Your back.” I mumble sleepily, turning my nose up into a cringe against the awful smell. “Have you managed to get rid if the bodies?”

He took a moment before responding to me. “Yes, everything has been sorted.” He gently lays me down onto of the soft feather down bed and gives me a chaste kiss on the forehead. “Sleep, I’m going to get washed.”

I watched him leave, his face shroude

Still reeling from my orgasm, I barely register the soft mattress dipping underneath me as Lucas pulls himself up from between my legs. He straddles my hips leaning forward with his arms flanking my head either side. His face was inches from me. My juices still glistening from his lips. His eyes watched me, a smouldering smirk plastered to his mouth like the cat that got the cream, and his hair falling wild framing his face. As my heart rate began to drop I realised that the insatiable need within me was still roaring with life. Warmth still pooled in my stomach, and my core ached with longing to be filled. I could feel my cheeks heat in embarrassment at my one track mind. My eyes focused in on Lucas’ lips. My teeth gnawing at my bottom lip. Lucas noticed my apparent discomfort, and leaned forward placing a tender kiss to my lips. It was soft a sensual, so unlike the heated needy kisses we shared before. This kiss had a deeper meaning, it was full of p

I woke the next morning to feeling far too hot for comfort. I try to move away from the source of the heat only to find myself pinned under arms and legs which were wrapped around me from all angles. Opening my eyes and looking at Lucas’ sleeping form behind me, I couldn’t help but smile. He looked completely at ease, peaceful even. A complete contrast to the angry monster that I witnessed yesterday afternoon. I manage to successful un-wind his arm from my torso to sit up, but he refused to move his leg. So as carefully as I could not to wake him, I pull my legs up to my chest and wiggle out of the bed. Jumping down onto the cold flagstone floor, which were too cold I hop to the bathroom to relieve my bladder. All the while making a metal note that is I were going to stay here for any length of time, that I must get Lucas to purchase a rug for the bedroom. I was just pondering the thought of how comfortable I felt making future plans with Lucas, when I was br

I cried for what felt for hours. I cried until there wasn’t anything left in me to cry. Year of pent up emotion and rage for my uncle came out in one fell swoop. By the time I had finished, my body was physically and mentally exhausted. I cuddled up against Lucas, he body and warmth comforting. He sat with me on the floor not once complaining or growing frustrated. He simply allowed me to be, and get everything out. When I finally stopped crying, he wiped my tear, giving me a gentle kiss before leading me to a comfy chair near the fire. I had no idea how cold I was until we sat in front of the warm glow. The bed sheet the only thing still covering my nakedness beneath. “They will come for me now, won’t they?” I asked sadly. Already coming to term with the fate that has befallen me. “You will most likely be summoned, yes.” Lucas replied plainly. He body was tense next to me. He liked the idea even less than I did. He would happily keep me hidden in his

It took longer than is should to get out of the shower and ready ourselves for the dinner party that we were both due to attend imminently.I should not have worried about what to wear, as soon as we had managed to pry ourselves away from each others bodies. Lucas led me to a closed door which I had not yet explored, only to reveal a dressing room almost the size of our bedroom, filled with row upon row of women’s clothing.I looked at him in disbelief, a smirk playing on his lips.“So, I have been walking around in your baggy jogging bottoms since I arrived here, and your failed to tell me that I had my very own personal shopping centre right next door?” I ask sarcastically, my brow cocked, arms folded across my chest in mock seriousness.“I like you in my baggy jogging bottoms.” Lucas pouts, taking a seductive step towards me, attempting to place his hands on the curve of my hips.“Oh no.” I step back hol

When we landed in a cold dark corridor, I took a moment to gather myself. I was not used to travelling through thin air. My stomach sloshed dangerously inside me as I stood on shaky legs trying to compose myself. I felt like I had just had n extended session on the merry-go-round, and now my inner equilibrium had been disturbed.“Are you OK?” Lucas asks, concern etched into him words. He held me steady as the room continued to spin around me. He places a gentle hand to my head, his thumb caressing my cheek bone.Focusing on the blue of Lucas’ eyes and with steady breaths, the spinning slowly begins to slow. My stomach settles and I give Lucas a reassuring nod and squeeze of the hand.“I should have warned you about apparating. It can take some time to get used to.” He apologies as he turned to face down the long gallery room that we now found ourselves in.At the far end of the gallery was a large set of ornate double doors,

My body still as I recognising the voice of the man it came from immediately. Lucas’ hands firmed around my back.Turning to face Lucien, his posture emanating power and authority. An angry red burn spreads out from the collar of his pristine white shirt and spreads up his neck and onto his face. He was a demon and such a burn should have healed by now, but no ordinary flame made the mark, it was my flame. The same flames that came from the core of hell. Hells fire. I look at the mark in fascination. I had never seen what my magic could truly do until now. The flames had melted away his flesh in such a way that her Uncle would forever bare the mark. A part of me revelled in the fact that ever day when he gazed upon his reflection, he would have such a stark reminder of his niece, and he would know that I held all the power and vengeance would soon find him. The other part of me, the humane part, felt appalled at the thought of having hurt another person so spectac

Lucifer was everything that Lilith has said he would be. He was perfectly sculpted, from his fine chiselled facial features, to his broad shoulders and back, right down to his foot size. It was like he was sculpted by god himself, which I guess he was? Unlike Lucas and Lilith, Lucifer was dark haired. His eyes burned two fiery orbs, not unlike Lysander’s. Thick bushy eyebrows were the crowning jewel. Like Lilith, at first glace to look at him, he looked no older than late 20s. His toned physique showing no signs of age. He certainly didn’t look old enough to have fathered the 13 adult children whose portraits hung in the long gallery. His aura oozed power and danger in plumes. His very presence sent a chill down my spine as radiated strength and prestige. On his lips sat a permanent sneer. The only part of his feature that could be remotely described as ugly. He looked around the swathes of people who stood before him. My only complaint

I was surprised at just how civilised the whole dinner party was. When surrounded by the most evil beings in the universe, you go expecting for at least one person to leave dead or at the very least fatally maimed. But actually the meal went by without incident. Lucifer was bright and charismatic with his guest. Discussing normal everyday topic like family and events that had taken place.I couldn’t easily see how Lilith had fallen for his charms so long before. For me I was happy sitting back and enjoying the conversation and the occasional sip of wine. I was just glad that the focus was no longer on me. Besides the occasional glance my way, Lucifer said very little else to me.He did however invite Lucas to his private quarters after he had seen me back to our own rooms. For what we were not sure. But Lucas dutifully took me back home and ensured I was comfortable for the night, before disappearing to see his father.I wasn’t expectin

Avalon – 3 years later We left the cave shortly afterwards. Deciding it was probably best to make ourselves scarce before Lord Tyrell and his vampire army came to take back what they believed to be theirs. It was my belief, that whilst everyone thought Lucas dead, the safer we would both be. England was out of the question for us, too many people there knew of us, who we were and the importance that we would have in underworld should we be caught. As much as Lord Tyrell had promised me that I would always be welcome in the underworld, I had to question why? Was it that he hoped to use my status to glean the trust of the demon aristocracy? Did he believe that with me by his side, his transition into power would be made easier? Or was it that he simply wanted to keep his friends close, but his enemies closer. I was not naive; I knew that Lucas and I were Tyrel

We sat for a long time in each other’s arms, just talking. About everything.About Lucifer, and Lilith, and Oona. About my father, both biological and the man who raised me for my formative years. About where we go from here. About the hopes hat we have for the small life that was now growing in my womb.No matter how hard I tried, something still niggled inside of me. The echo of the dark thoughts that seemed to invade my mind more and more often over the last few hours. Imploring me to return to the underworld. To absorb the power of the flames and to take my rightful place. To complete my destiny. If my trip to the hells fire had shown me anything, it was that fate was not done with me yet. And that there was no way for me escape it.The idea of there being more to come scared me. When Lilith first told me that I was the key to save the underworld, I believed her. I had no idea that she had put me on a path that would lead me down much a d

My curse would not allow me to die before I had completed its conditions. Now that they had been I had to wonder, what was the point in living in a word where Lucas did not exist?Regardless of why I did not, I should have died with Lucas in the grounds of the hunters. Thought I see now my journey was futile.” She mutters, gazing passed me to the pile of Lucifers remains behind me. “You have been busy tonight child.” I watch her cautiously, unsure if I should be worried that she has witnessed what I have done or not. “What will you do Magda?” I ask her, I fight back the flames that struggle to burst forth a

  • Shadowed Creatures   Chapter 60 - No Turning Back Now

I stood looking at the place that Lucifer only moments ago stood talking to me as flesh and blood. All that was left of the devil was a smoking pile of ash, and a creeping doubt in my heart.Lucifer’s death had left me with more question than I had ever thought possible. Not only was he suggesting that I was conceived in the underworld, which would mean that I was not only completely demon, but also that my father was not in fact… my biological father. But also, that my mother wasn’t the person I thought that she was. And that he clearly believed that one day my son would be back in the underworld and ruling it.My head span with what he had told me. I didn’t know if the words he had spoken even held an element of truth, or if he was simply trying to get into my head. He was the devil after all. He was known for being a trickster, for being evil!I sat back in the soft arm chair, feeling completely d

For the first and last time I left the St Leger family home behind, the water gardens having been my only window into what the residents was like. Where my mother had spent the majority of her childhood.A part of me curious, to know the woman who had raised me for 8 years. Who loved me and was so gentle and kind. The other just wanted to be done with the underworld forever.Unsure as to where to start to search for Lucifer. I found myself in the long gallery, pictures of the all the dead and damned family member of the Royal House of Caine. The picture of Lilith hung high up before me, like the Queen presiding over her court. The gallery was quiet, and much darker than the last time we were here. The usual torches which lined the halls of the royal palace unlit casting the room into an eery glow.I stepped forward quickly, with soft footsteps so as not apprise anyone of my approach. The door to the banqueting room was sat slightly ajar, poking my head ar

LuciferI had spent a great many hours thinking about my life over the last few weeks, probably more than I should have done.I had lived many lifetimes. Even before falling from grace. Not all of them unhappy.Even in my damnation on earth, I had found love, and happiness to a degree and I had even procured a family. Lilith was my happiness for so long. She had born me many children. And in turn Grandchildren, and great grandchildren and so forth. Most of them are now so watered down that the lineage has all but disappeared, yet it was still there. A piece of me living on in my own personal hell, earth. All had brought me joy, and pride in their own ways.Yet I found myself unsatisfied with what I had achieved during my time in the underworld and in turn on earth. My mission had been to prove God wrong. To prove to him that his creation, humans, were not worth th

Lucien stepped out from the dark hallway that split off from the garden room and into the light. Stopping in his tracks as he looked upon the scene in front of him.His annoyed expression soon disappeared as his gaze fell upon me.“Niece, how wonderful of you to visit. I had no idea that you had even been recovered. How fortunate.” His words dripped sarcasm, half of his face that was stretch grotesquely over his cheekbones from the scaring he had incurred from our previous tryst.“Well, I couldn’t allow you to think you had won Uncle. Afterall, we do have unfinished business to attend to.” I spoke with just as much sarcasm as I could muster, all the while letting the low burning heat radiate through me.Lucien stepped out into the middle of the room so he was stood beside Nova, who by now had taken on a whole new shade of white, looking as if she may just faint on the spot.I stand with my feet set apart and my hands r

It was because I was wearing Lilith’s stone.” My brows creased together as I thought of the night that Lucifers dark eyes followe
