Chapter 4

Allison

     It's been a long ride to Lunar pack. I already feel tired. If not for my parents I will not attend this Grand ball. Just imagine, only mateless she-wolves from the continent are invited. 

'Maybe that's the reason why their pack becomes the strongest pack in the continent,' Masha said.

My eyebrow knotted. 'What do you mean?' I asked her. I saw how she rolled her eyes on me in my mind.

"If all the she-wolf found their mate here,' she said. 'That's a huge advantage for the pack.'

she added before she retreated at the back of my mind.

Masha was right, now I know why their pack is so successful. The current Luna is smart and strategic. Everyone knows Alpha Brandon and Luna Amelia, a powerful couple. A fierce and ruthless alpha paired with a beautiful and smart Luna.

"Are you okay?Princess?" my mother asked. Dad and Mom accompanied me to the grand ball since it was my first time attending a party. 

I nodded my head and smile at her. 

"Just a little bored and tired for a long ride mom," I replied at her. 

She smiled at me. "Will be there in an hour, you can take a rest for now," my dad interjected. 

It's 6 hours long drive from our pack. My parents decided to leave early so we can avoid rogues and hunters while on the way. 

I closed my eyes and tried to sleep but my mind is squabbling.  A lot of what-ifs run in my mind.

What if I found my mate?

What if it's the Alpha of the strongest pack?

What if he will reject me?

"Ahhh," I groaned in mind. The thing that was bothering me was the thought that this would be the last time that I can be with my parents.

It saddens me with that thought. I grew up with their love and care, and now I will be in a stranger's pack.

I smile bitterly. 

Since I can't sleep I focus my eyes on the beautiful and greeny sceneries of Europe. 

The green fields bring calmness to my inner self. I haven't seen this kind of beauty, 'coz we used to live in the middle of the forest, not a town center.

"Here we are," my dad said. Then I look in front of the car. I saw the huge arc of the Lunar pack. 

Dad stops for a while, then one of the guards checks us. My mother shows the invitation card to them.

"We are from the Dark Wolf pack of the south," my father said. The guard smile at him.

"Welcome to the Lunar pack Alpha and Luna,"  he greeted. My father nodded his head and mom smiled at him. After checking our luggage they let us enter.

As instructed, we proceed to the packhouse to show courtesy from the former Alpha and the Luna. 

I look around, the place is so amazing, we are in the middle of a medieval town center. 

It looks like a place for all the rich.No wonder a lot of pack wants to ties with the Lunar pack, the place looks so affluent, the structural houses that made of Cotswolds stone is so magnificent.

Just a few moments, Dad stops the car in front of a packhouse, a little palace to be exact. It was surrounded by green fields. I even saw some wolves running around.

My eyes set on the couple waiting in front of the packhouse.

I heave a deep breath before I got off the car. I followed mom and dad.

"It's nice to see you, again Heidi and Arkin," the Luna said. She even hugged my mother.

"Same here Amelia, and you too Brandon, it seems you don't age," my mother replied.

Then dad and alpha Brandon do the fist bomb like toddlers. I heard their chuckle.

My face furrowed from what I saw. It seems that they knew each other for a long time.

"How long has been,20 years since the last time?" Alpha Brandon asked.

My dad just shrugged his shoulders. Then the couple shifted their gaze on me.

"So, this is Allison?" The Luna asked.

My mom nodded and grab my hand.

"Allison, this is my best friend Luna Amelia and her husband Alpha Brandon, the parents of the current alpha of the lunar pack," my mom said.

I smile at them and bow my head. "It's nice meeting you, Alpha and Luna," I said.

But I was surprised when the luna squeeze me in a tight hug. I smile at her.

"Ohh, you have a lovely and beautiful daughter, Heidi," Luna said. 

"of course!" my mom agreed that made us laugh.

"Where's the alpha?" father asked.

"Braden is currently on patrol, checking everything for tonight's party," Alpha Brandon said.

I heard Dad, chuckle. 

"Let's go inside. so you can have rest before the party," Luna Amelia said. 

When I entered the packhouse it feels like I'm in a fairytale. The wide hall was decorated with expensive things, the interior was designed like a castle. 

I saw an omega take my luggage. We followed the Alpha and the Luna, then we stops in the hallway. I think the guest room. 

"This is the Alpha suite, young lady your room was that door in the center," The Luna said pointing to the door in middle. I smile at her.

"Thank you, Luna," I replied with a smile,

She smiled sweetly. 

"I'd be glad if you're the fated mate of my son, you will be a great couple," she added. My face redden when I look at my parents, they had wide smiles on their faces.

"Go now, have a rest so that you have the energy for the party later," the luna said.

"I will take care of your parents," she added.

I nodded my head and excuse myself from them.

'Masha, it's time,' I told Masha.'Okay' she replied. Then my eye color changed to fiery red then my scent disappear. I just smell like an ordinary human.

Braden

I was with Jaxon and Wilson, we're doing patrol inside the territory. We checked every border of the pack for rogues sightings.  We should be careful we can be a  target tonight for the attack.

Those who are mated warriors are the ones who will be guarding the pack, while that mateless wolf can attend the Grand ball but they have to be prepared once unfortunate events happened.

"Are you excited to find your mate, later?" Jaxon asks. 

"You're right, I should try the mate bond," I replied.

I look at Wil, whose looking away.

"How about you Wilson?" I asked him. He smiled at looked at me.

"I will not attend the grand ball," he said that made me frown.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You don't have plans to find your mate tonight?" I asked. He shakes his head and takes a deep breath.

"My wolf and I have a feeling that my mate will not be here tonight," he explained.

That made Jaxon and I got curious. Both our foreheads knotted. 

"What?" Jaxon and  I said in unison.

"Willow and I always felt our mate, like she's calling us," he said.

You mean you had a connection with your mate?" Jaxon asked with wide eyes.

"I don't know, it's hard to explain, even I keep wondering about her," Wilson said. I feel his distress.

"It seems you have an extraordinary mate, just like your mom," I said to him.

"You think so?" he asked.

I nodded my head. "If Willow felt the same too, she must be something," I added. That made Wilson quiet.

Well, Wilson has blood from the Mystic wolf pack, even he doesn't possess any special gift just like his mother Harithi, a great fighter and pack's strategic.

We won battles because of his great help. I tap his shoulders. 

"Are you sure, you will not attend the party?" I asked again.

He shook his head. "I'll just help in patrolling tonight, and besides you're the one who baldy needs to find your mate," he said grinning.

I heard Jaxon chuckle. 'Damn, I hate the party without my friends, but I'll get doomed if I will not attend,' I cursed mentally.

We head back to the packhouse after making sure everything was settled. As we walked  I saw a lot of luxurious cars running towards the packhouse. Those must be the daughters of the alphas from different packs. 

I wish we could find our mate soon so that the party will end early.

I saw mom and dad in front of the packhouse welcoming the guest.

The three of us walk towards the backdoor of the packhouse to avoid those she-wolves.

I walk straight towards the alpha suite when I heard Atticus' thoughts, he was agitated.

"Mate is here," he said.

My eyes went wide. 'What did you say?" I asked. 'She's here, I can feel her," he added. I feel

his excitement. 

'Find mate,' he said. I sniff the air and a faint scent of Jazmine and vanilla with a little mixture of wild roses. 

Her scent is mouthwatering. Atticus keeps howling in my head like a lovesick puppy.

I roamed around the Alpha suite but I can't find where she is. Her scent just disappeared in thin air. 

'Mate is here, let's find her,' Atticus repeatedly said.

'Her scent just vanished,' I told him. 'We have to rest first, surely we will find her tonight,' I added.

I saw Atticus cheered in my head before he retreated. he's acting like a lovesick puppy.

I walk to my room and went removed my clothes. I went to bed on my boxers and tryin' to sleep. 

Tonight will be a long night, I said mentally before I doze to sleep.
