Chapter 17

BRADEN

    I felt the pain in my heart when I heard what my mate said. Allison disowned me as her mate. But I deserved it. This is the only way to protect her, she's a human and I don't want her to be hurt.

I saw the disapproval from the pack and to my Beta, especially my Gamma, who's been loyal to her. I know that they don't like Pepper, but she's good in bed and she had beta blood, natural warriors blood. They will see it once a blood bath will happen when the rouge attacked again.

I looked at Pepper with a proud smile on her face. She looked at me and kissed me. I know that this was her dream to be my Luna, but things change when we shifted to our wolves and found out that we were not paired by the moon goddess, she was devastated that time. I know that she will be a good luna.

"What have you done, Braden?" Jaxon asked. I just looked at him. "Allison just got back from recovery and you didn't bother to visit her for three days," he added.  "This is for the future of the pack," I told him. 

"Tsk!" he heard from Wil. I looked at him and saw the disappointment in his eyes. "We're talking to you as your friends, not your beta or gamma, Braden. We all know that you can do better than this but hurting your mate, was a jerk move," Wil said before he turned his back on us. 

He followed Allison, I guess. "You've hurt our mate, I will not let you shift if she will leave us because of you," Atticus said inside my head. 

I groaned. I am having a headache from my wolf who's been pestering me for days for not seeing his mate and my friends. I understand their loyalty to Allison but this is the best way for the pack. Having a human luna of the strongest pack on the continent was a disadvantage, my enemies will use her for our downfall. 

"We're alpha blood, we can take care of her," Atticus added. I shake my head. "I already lost my twin. I can't take it anymore if I will lose our mate too," I replied. 

 "Braden, I'll swear that I'll be the best Luna that the pack will have," Pepper said, her eyes we're twinkle with joy and happiness. "I can't wait for the Luna Ceremony," she added. I just nodded at her.  

I turned around, "Atticus, please bare with me, I need you right now," I told Atticus. "I rather choose the hatred of our mate than see her in danger because of us," I explained to him.

"Mate is mad to us," he whispered. "I know buddy, I know. I felt her anger earlier, we will going to win her back once we found our twin," I reassured him. Atticus nodded his head before disappearing inside my head. I need to breathe. 

I shifted into my wolf and let Atticus take over. I've been thinking of this for three days, and that's the reason why I wasn't able to visit Allison in the infirmary, the goddess knew how much I missed her, how I crave her touch and her laugh.

I ran towards the south border of the pack where Wilson and  Allison were attacked by rouges. I need to let my anger out. I ran into the depths of the forest. I hide my huge white wolf behind the trunk of the large oak tree. I spotted three rouges in their human form having a bonfire. 

"Calix and Camille just disappeared," one of the rouges said. "yeah, a witness says that they were spotted with a huge black wolf with fiery eyes, and released them from being a rouge,"  the rouge with one-eyed said. 

"only a lycan can do it," one of them said. a Lycan? my forehead knotted. Lycan was the ancestors of werewolves they had been wiped out a thousand years ago by the Lycan King.

"We all know that Lycans are just myth so how is it possible that there's someone has able to do that," the third rouge said. "So, how can you explain what happened to Calix and Camille, they just disappeared after being commanded by that black she-wolf," the other one interjected. I keep in my position to get some more information from them. 

"I felt someone was eyeing us," one of them said. The two rouges alerted and roamed their eyes. I growled for them to know my presence. Then I walk out behind the tree. 

"That's the Alpha of Lunar pack," the rouge said with shock. "what are you doing here, Alpha, it's not part of your territory," he added. I shifted into my human form with a frowned face. 

"I am quite interested in your topic earlier," I said to them. "I will spare your life if you will tell me in detail about that black she-wolf," I told them. The three rouges exchange their gaze with each other.

"What made you think that we lend you the information," the rouge said with a smirk. I smiled wickedly at them. "So, you didn't give me a choice," I told them coldly.  

"It's a pleasure to kill the ruthless alpha of the continent," one of the rouges said and shifted to his dirty black wolf. He lunged at me with his sharp canine but I grab his throat. My right arm morphs into the sharp claws of Atticus and rips his throat, his dead body falls to the ground.

"Whose next?" I asked before shifting into my huge alpha wolf. The two rouge to their wolf and start to attack. Atticus let a powerful growl which made them flinch. 

It's a bloody battle between the three of us. After a few minutes, their limp bloody bodies fell to the floor. After the fight, Atticus ran towards the stream to wash our bloody fur. The thought of the black she-wolf can't get out of my mind. I need to inform my warriors to start the hunt. She must be a threat to the pack. I shifted to my human form and enjoy the coldness of the water. I look up at the clear sky, my mind was busy with something when I heard a rustling of leaves. I shifted my gaze to where the sounds came from and I felt that all my hair stood up when I met those fiery red eyes. I felt safe and calm at the same time while looking at it, then Atticus shouted in my mind,  Mate!  

What is she, my mate? What about Allison?

Confusion was in me., same with Atticus. I started my steps towards the black wolf but she let out a powerful roar. It seems like she's mad at me. Then in a blink of an eye, she disappears.

"What was happening?"..
