Chapter 21

Writer's POV

Mr. Alex walked in looking frustrated. His life hasn't been easy since Alisha left; doing the house chores, like cooking and washing, hasn't been easy. Three years ago, he remarried, hoping to get relief from the workload, but things didn't go as expected.

At first, the woman tolerated his nonchalant behavior. But at some point, she got pissed off. She's the one doing everything since Mr. Alex is the lazy type. She got tired and left, and since then, he's been single until recently. He got himself another wife. The previous one turned out to be better than the current one, and he's regretting it.

"And where do you think you are going?" The middle-aged woman blocked his path, preventing him from entering the kitchen.

"What's the meaning of this nonsense? You better behave yourself, woman! Don't get on my nerves!" He tried pushing her out, but she stood her ground.

"And what the hell do you think you want to do in the kitchen? Wait? Do you want to go and eat? Oh no, hubby, not today. You dropped nothing when you left, and now that you are back, you won't get a thing!" He let out a silly scoff, glaring at her.

"I'm your husband, Clara, not the other way around! Go in there and get my food, or let me get it myself!" She hissed loudly, getting him more pissed.

"Oh! So you remember you are the husband, and yet you leave me to do your duty! I'm tired of all this! I'm tired of playing both the wife and the husband! I'm the husband here, Alex! I am!" He clenched his fist in anger.

"How dare you tell me this! I'm the husband, you fool!" He yelled in anger.

"You are? I'm just getting to know about it now! I'm surprised to hear you say this. You know, I've been doing all the husband duties since we got married, so I don't kind of remember you playing the role of a husband! My bad!" She scoffed.

"I'm warning you, Clara! Leave the way!" He pushed her off, and she fell back into the kitchen. He kicked her out of the way, getting in fully. He took a plate and went to the pot, but she got up quickly and then grabbed the plate from him, flinging it away. The plate fell and crashed.

His eyes darkened with anger as he glared hatefully at her.

"You just threw that away?" she scoffed.

"Yes, I just did. What will you do?" She rolled her eyes.

"This!" He snapped, emptying a cup of water on her face!

"How dare you, bastard! You just poured water on me, idiot!" She grabbed the collar of his shirt, not ready to let him go for a moment.

"Leave me, bitch! There's no way you will stop me from eating food in my own house! It's impossible, woman!" He pushed her to the counter.

"I'm not letting this slide, Alex!" She grabbed the pot of stew and poured it on his face.

"Shit! Clara! You just poured pepper on me! You fucking emptied a pot of stew on me instead of letting me have it. You are wicked, Clara!" He tried opening his eyes, but the pepper forced him to close them back.

"This is only the beginning, Alex! I would rather feed the dog food than have you eat it! I'm fully prepared for you, Alex. Gone are the days that I used to tolerate your insolence. You won't get even a single thing from me in this house!" She snapped, leaving the kitchen.

"At least help me with water! I'm in pain, Clara. Don't just leave me to suffer," he pleaded.

"No way. You deserve to suffer. I'm not giving you even a drop." He managed to get to the fridge, grabbed a bottle of water, emptied the whole contents on his face, and then grabbed another, but still, the pain continued.

It only stopped after he used the fourth one.

He sighed tiredly, his mind drifting back to Alisha.

"I wish I didn't sell you out. At least you would still be here making me free food without complaint. Now I have lots of debts hanging around my neck, and paying them back feels kind of impossible. I must do something before they come knocking at my door. Wait! How about I go back to the alpha to ask for more money? I mean, he's been enjoying my stepdaughter for free throughout the past years. Yes, I think I should do this!" He grabbed his shirt and put it on; he'd removed it when he wanted to collect food from the kitchen.

Immediately he opened the door, he came face to face with a lady.

"Where's my money, Alex?" she questioned angrily, trying to fight her way in, but he banged the door in her face.

"I told you I will give it to you tomorrow. Just go!"

"Impossible, Alex! I'm not going anywhere without my money! You keep sneaking into my room every morning, afternoon, and night on credit. I'm fed up, Alex! I'm tired of offering a free pussy to you! Come out here, broke ass!" she yelled from outside, but he was gone. He left through the back door as usual.

Alpha's Castle

"You just shut up! I'm his father-in-law, you fool! Go in there and tell him I'm here to see him!" He yelled at the guard who wouldn't let him in.

"The alpha said he's not seeing anyone today! Just go back home, old man. And mind you, the alpha doesn't have a mate, not even a concubine or anything. Stop disturbing and leave," the guard dragged him out.

"Go in there and call him. Tell him his father-in-law is here to see him!" He continued shouting. The alpha, who happened to be passing by, heard his voice.

"Let him go!" The alpha ordered. They did, and he turned happily to greet the alpha, but when he saw who it was, he froze his heart racing.
