Chapter 22 - competition

HINDI naiwasan ni Ray si Shannon na tumalon mula sa swing at pabalyang yumakap sa kanya.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Nakangiting kinarga niya ang dalagita at ibinalik sa swing. "I thought you go with Athrun."

"I asked him if I can come but he told me to stay here." Sumimangot ito.

Tumango siya at inugoy ang swing.

"Ray, I think Papa's mad at me." Himutok ng dalagita.

"Mad at you? What makes you say that?"

"He never talked to me since we arrived yesterday."

"He's just too busy. Athrun doesn't talk to you either even if he had ample free time."

"It's different. Athrun is sick and he needs rest."

"But it doesn't mean he can't talk. Why would you want to talk to Papa, anyway?" He pinched her pretty upturned nose.

She giggled. "I would like to ask him that I 'll stay here with Athrun."

"You do have the guts to tell me you wanted to be with him than going back with me to America? Hindi ko alam na ayaw mo na pala akong makasama." Pangongonsensya niya rito.

"No! It's nothing like that. Athru
