Chapter Twenty Nine

Elena's POV.

“But how come? How did he die, I can swear we saw him last night! Mason even called him when we arrived home.” I said to the inspector who just gazed at us.

Mason sat on the chair, “So what you're saying is that the chief of police I spoke to yesterday is dead? Don't you think it's suspicious, his death?”

The inspector leaned forward in his chair, “I did find it suspicious but then a warning note was found next to him, and the name Elena was written on it.”

I sat down on the chair, his words took me by surprise. “Who dropped the note? Do you have an idea on who it could have been?”

“No! We don't and that's why we are having issues right now, the note was in blood. It was written with the chief's blood, but we couldn't find any tip or lead to what could have been used.”

I looked at Mason, he put his hands on mine, rubbing it. The action seemed to calm me but I couldn't take my mind off the fact that the chief was dead. Could it have been Williams? But then why would he do
