96. Could It Be...

Chapter 96

Dorian's POV

I heard a slight creaking noise, and I turned my head to see the flap on the door being opened once again. A plate of food was pushed in through the little gap. The gap was closed almost immediately, cutting off a tiny light that seeped through it every time it was opened.

I looked at the food disdainfully and turned my head away. I couldn't eat it; what if it was poisoned?

I couldn't just eat anything that was offered to me, especially now that Conrad was after my head.

I continued to resist the urge to eat, and soon, I started feeling sharp pains in my abdomen that felt like miniature needles being stuck inside my stomach every time I would protest against the food.

I gripped my stomach in pain and fell to the ground weakly, groaning in my discomfort and trying to pull myself together.

I still needed to escape, but at this point, if I escaped with an empty stomach, I doubted that I would go far without Conrad and his men finding me.
