“By the way, I saved you from your mate that rejected you without thinking twice, what do I get for it?” Those were the exact words of the man I was sold to by my mate the day I stepped into his mansion. Thick saliva landed roughly into the pit of my stomach. I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. Only bubbles. His eyes colour was dark but who is to say it wasn't as dark as his intentions. What are the chances I was not in more danger than I would have been with my mate that rejected me. ************************************************* Amaya went from learning that her mate was the Alpha of her Pack whom she detested, to being rejected and offered the role of becoming his slut by the same Alpha. But then her story changed in a way she never expected nor wanted. She would have preferred staying in the dungeon where her mate threw her than to be sold to the infamous tyrant Alpha to stop an impending war. With a new Alpha in the picture, Amaya's life was only getting started. The question remains if it was for good or for bad.

“Why do you always train this hard? We are not allowed to go to war like the men and by the way, there's no more war, in case you forgot,” my best friend Nelo mumbled with a frown as we tiptoed down the corridor.
“And really, com'on. Things have changed. We are no longer in the olden days where the packs go to war all the time and everyone can join in just because they can shift into their wolves and—”
“Shhhh.” I quickly shushed her and pinned her to the wall as I heard footsteps approaching.
“No, for real, tell me honestly. Why are you pushing yourself too hard? Or wait… don't tell me you are hoping to find favour in the eyes of Alpha Lucius?”
I waited until the footsteps became distant before I let my hand free.
“No way…” she stared at me with her eyes wide and then gasped.
“What?” I arranged the warrior kit on my body half listening to more of her unproven and mere gut-feeling suspicions. Knowing Nelo, she was about to say the most ridiculous thing. And of course she did not disappoint.
“Are you crushing on Alpha Lucius?” she asked.
Crushing on Alpha Lucius indeed. I rolled my eyes in my head. Yes, I trained really hard but there were better reasons for it than to be found desirable by some tyrant Alpha. My friends thought I enjoyed punishing myself because of how hard I trained. Like Nelo said, not everyone was allowed to join in Pack wars, that was if there would be any with how a lot of things had changed. And the worst part was that women were not allowed to train. One tyrant Alpha had managed to keep the other Packs in their respective territories after he conquered a lot of other Packs.
After so many stops and hides, ducks and straps to walls, we finally arrived at the training centre. I could feel my wolf leap the second my eyes fell on the machines. The mere sight of the equipment excited us. It was more perfect at this time of the day when they had been cleaned and the men hadn't come in to use them yet. Their freshly cleaned scents and the way they shone made me want to hold them immediately. My favourite machine to use was the automated pair man. I had never seen anything fast and strong like it in my entire life. It amazed me how it could dodge very swiftly and still managed to find a way to land a punch.
Actually, I had never paired with my fellow wolf before. I always wanted to know what it would be like to have a real fight but sadly I couldn't and might never get to because of a curse that has haunted me since I was born.
“I will just sit here and watch. You think Selene is still coming?” Nelo’s voice jolted me out of my thoughts.
“Come on, join me. We may not go to war but our body needs it. You don't want to feel like flip flops when your wolf comes out.”
“Full moon is still not that close. I can slack off. And besides, we do all the damn work here. Isn't it enough training for my body and why should we care about the full moon? We are servants and shouldn't dream of such things. Just like finding our mates.”
“There’s nothing wrong with dreaming, Nelo.”
“Of course. I agree with you,” she scoffed. “Okay. Imagine this scenario. You finally meet your mate but guess what, he rejects you. Why? Because you are nothing but a servant!”
“Tueh!” I spat out scrunching my face. “How can you say that! Take it back! You can jinx us.”
“Okay hear me out. Which man would want to accept us as his mate?”
“Our mates will accept us.”
“You are still dreaming of being accepted?” She gave a mocking laughter. “Snap out of it already Amaya! The men of this pack prefer their women girly and petite. Look what overworking has done to us. We now have men's shoulders and muscles and work like bulls. We don't even have time to put on some make up nor take care of our bodies.”
I shrugged. Nelo wasn't all that wrong. Being a servant was tough. You barely got any time for yourself because you are probably running an errand in the house of one elder or doing something more strenuous for some prominent family.
“But still our mates will love and appreciate us when they see us. It will be like an opportunity to leave here for a better life. Why don't you look at it from that angle.”
Nelo seemed to think for a moment. Then she shrugged and sighed. “Let's agree that our mate won't reject us. Where, how and when do we meet them? Our lives is basically centred in this—”
“Amaya! Nelo!”
We turned and saw our friend Selene running towards us.
“What took you so long. Did anyone see you coming?”
Selene stopped, panting. “That's not what is important right now. Alpha Lucius is here!”
“Alpha Lucius? How? He never visits here.”
“That’s what we all thought.”
“Alpha Lucius?” Nelo gasped. “Is he really as handsome as they say? Is he tall with big muscles and are his eyes as sexy and dreamy as that of a demi god as they say too?”
“Also, this is not time for fantasising. We better hurry back. I hear he is here to meet the girls. If instructor Matt notices we are gone, we are doomed.”
“By the girls you mean…us?” I asked.
“No, she means the girls at the market. Oh stop asking silly questions!” Nelo snapped at me.
“Hurry! There's no time for this! And Amaya you better hope we get there fast enough. One more strike and you are dead.”
Together, me, Nelo and Selene ran all the way back to the servants quarters. My heart was racing really fast. I wondered why. It definitely wouldn't be because of instructor Matt’s strike or the fear of being punished which fortunately I was already used to.
“Wait…I think we will have to go around the building. The girls will already be gathering at the hall by now,” Selene suggested.
We followed the back and in no time we mixed up with the other girls.
“It’s all over and we are safe. Oh, Amaya, don't make me go through this again,” Nelo stopped to catch her breath.
“Wipe your face. You are sweating like you are about to be slaughtered,” she added pointing at my face.
“Thanks,” I mumbled and wiped my face.
The hall was already half filled up by the time we entered. The squeaks and shrills and arguments from the girls blasted against the ceiling and heated the room. Their excitement could be felt thoroughly. It was a rare thing for Alpha Lucius to decide to pay us a visit.
“Let's sit there.” Nelo pointed at the corner in the front row.
“No. I would rather sit at the back–” Before I could move she grabbed me and dragged me down to the front row.
“Silence all of you!” Matt, our instructor, barked at the top of his voice. But even with his barking it took another two minutes for the room to come to silence.
“I know why Nelo chose here,” Selene whispered when we were fully seated on the bare floor.
“I know too,” I whispered back and we glanced at Nelo whose eyes were firmly rooted at the entrance in anticipation.
Nelo's eyes may have been the one focused on the entrance but truthfully I
was the most anxious. I didn't understand the reason for the way my heart was racing.
AMAYA'S POV Lucius got Westwood back as Damian promised him. A few days after that, he came to see me. “I know I'm a coward for saying this now…but actually I had used your friend to fool you.”“I know.”He was surprised at first but smiled a sad smile. “It would be weird if you didn't know, right?”“I'm sorry, Amaya. I was foolish and a coward. I should never have treated you the way I did. What sort of a bastard sold his mate to save his head?” He sighed painfully. “Do you know? I hated you way before I found out you were my mate…but I was willing to make things work for that simple fact.”He sighed and bent his head. “But you don't have to feel bad about anything now. I'm in a much better place now and it's all thanks to you.”Before he left, we broke our mate bond and rejected each other. A wave of freedom rushed through me at that point. I wondered if this was what it meant for two mates to reject themselves and not the rejection being one sided. I wished him well. He was a m
Tommy fled. Behind the market. To the place he'd told the men he borrowed from Alpha Kael and Alpha Blackridge to wait for him. “Warriors! Position, now!” He roared. No man showed. He roared again. And again. Still no man showed. He looked around to be met with silence and desolation. The weapons were lying around with no man to claim them. He ran to the shed. Their belongings were gone. To his shocking discovery, he realized the men had disappeared. He cussed and his body clenched. “You must be looking for the men you borrowed, huh?” Damian spoke. They were behind Tommy. Some meters away. Tommy looked behind him, the people that wanted him dead had caught up with him. Then to his right, towards the uncompleted building where Lyra, Alpha Kael and Alpha Blackridge were tied. To flee or to take his revenge? If he lost Lyra, he would never get Damian again and he needed to kill Kael and Blackridge for deceiving him. But he was not sure of making it out alive. Fleeing would cost his
Tommy laughed. “I knew it. A bitch like you can't be trusted.”“Neither a monster like you.” Nelo retorted as she aimed the shining dagger at him. She'd specially sharpened the edges. She wanted every pierce of it to be nothing but torture to him. “Do you think you will survive? Look around. There are hundreds of people here but no one is watching.” Tommy gestured as he took a glance around. “I don't need their help. You are dying by my hands today.” Nelo clenched. Tommy stopped, his face hardening. He would not be blamed. He gave her a lot of chances but she blew it. He did not have any intention of harming her. He admitted she was helpful not just as a spy but in giving him pleasure. She was the best he had. And for that, he would not let her die by his hands. But she was getting on his last nerves now and he didn't have that time to be patient. Damian would be arriving soon and his trap was only halfway done. “Drop the dagger and we will talk,” he warned. “I am done talking to
>>>“Nelo.” Nelo heard her name and froze. It was not Tommy's voice and she knew. Before she could turn, a thick black bag covered her face with a part of it shoved into her mouth. Two hands dragged her away. For seconds she struggled to free herself.“Damn you Tommy!” She muffled. After a while, she quit struggling and rode with the stride. Whatever happened, she was determined to end everything today. She felt her cloth and seeing that what she kept there was intact, she tightened her resolve. She heard a door creak open. Her blindfold was taken off and she saw herself inside a shop. A pretty much empty shop with a few fabrics hanging around. Her eyes danced as her mind swirled with thoughts. Why would Tommy bring her into a shop? All the memories of when he'd made her go to a secluded place just so he'd have his way with her flashed her head. For a moment images blurred and her head dizzied. Until she heard the voice of her captor. “Bitch.”He
D-DAYNelo waited to get eyes off her. She'd noticed Nelly was shooting fierce looks like her. But that was normal. She was just an obsessed psycho who hadn't gotten a touch of her real self yet. But that was not it. Amaya had been acting strange too. Which was worrisome. She decided she'd trash it out with her, whatever it was, as soon as returned from seeing Tommy. Tommy asked to meet up. Of course no one in her shoes would have agreed to meet a man that was in the hunting book of Damian. A man that was a horror to her But as he'd always done, Tommy had threatened her. He'd sworn to never let her be free. How much longer would he use her?Reporting Damian’s movement wasn't enough and now he wanted to meet her. Her body stiffened as the memories flooded in. His hands on her, the feel of him inside her. She hated that he used her as much as he pleased and hated herself for offering herself to him. She was disgusted every time he touched her, every single time he spun her and rammed
“You won't be going.”Damian was startled by a voice as he dropped the call. Without turning, his senses provided him the answer. “I have to save her and stop that bastard from hurting more people,” he said as he finally turned around. Nelly flared up. “No. You won't. Why would you save someone like her? She betrayed you!”“You don't know for sure. Those words came from Nello. She is not the most innocent person. She could be lying.”“What would she gain from that?”“What did she gain by betraying her friend?” He made to walk past but Nelly blocked him. “Still, you shouldn't go…” her voice was pleading. “I–I can't bear to see you get hurt. I would go crazy. It would kill me.”Damian observed her. Then he sighed. He was thinking Nelly had gotten over her crush on him but it seemed she hadn't. He held her shoulders. “Look Nelly, I cannot allow Tommy to be roaming around my Pack before people get hurt. I must catch him.”“I never said he should be allowed to live. I want him dead more t
Tommy tied up Alpha Kael and Blackridge after making them surrender. To save their lives, they'd agreed to let him use some of their men as he demanded. “You have lost, Tommy. You will never win,” Kael gritted as he sat with his back tied together with Blackridge:s back. Tommy laughed at him. “No Kael. I have not lost and I will not lose. I will make sure of that.”Blackridge suddenly burst into laughter eliciting a deep frown from Tommy. After some time, he stopped. “You are still delusional. You will never win Damian. You are a fuvking loser!”“Is that what you hope?” Tommy asked with a chuckle. Well, he could understand. They were helpless at the moment and their only hope would be hoping that Damian saved their arse. “What did you do to Balus?” Kael asked. Tommy's lips looped as he briefly recalled how it happened. “He was a senseless fool with a lot of pride. Friendly advice. Try not to end up like him.”“You are a bastard! You are a fucking monster!”Tommy ignored their rant
AMAYA’S POV “Make sure to take her back safely,” Damain ordered the guard and darted off. “Wait! What's going on?” I yelled. How could he just leave me here and dash off without saying anything? I was going after him when I stumbled on a stone I hadn't seen and plummeted to the ground. My eyes became heavy and hazy. Things grew blurry and all of a sudden, several voices echoed in my head at once. I shut my eyes and a serious headache attacked me. Different kinds of memories bombarded me, it made my head ached. I could see the guard before me. His head had grown double and his mouth was moving. He was saying things but I only heard muffles. I passed out. I woke up an hour later and found myself in my room. Surrounded by faces I recognized. I panicked. “You are awake,” the doctor said. She was the same doctor that treated me before. “Are you okay?” she asked. “Yes…yes.” I tried to get up but realized the spot I knocked my foot against the rock was wounded. I groaned receiving hel
“No… Uncle…don't say anything please…”“Damian, I killed your father.”Damian felt his throat dry up immediately. For a moment, his ribs neither took in any air nor expelled any. Silent turmoil over took him. He'd already suspected this was what his uncle was going to confess. He'd dreaded it and tried to avoid hearing it. But in the end he couldn’t stop the truth from being the truth. He looked away as a stray tear slipped down his face. “I won't ask for your forgiveness… I don't deserve it…”“Why? Why did you do it?” his voice was raw and his amber eyes had darkened. A surge of anger made him shake inside. “I wanted him to approve a new law. I killed someone but it was all by mistake, I swear it. It was never intentional. Before that night, the news was already set to break out in the Pack. All I wanted was for your father to protect me as his brother.”“You wanted him to hide you!” His emotions went loose. Uncle Griffin closed his eyes and silently cried. “Yes, you are right. I w
