Hector opened his eyes, looking around
the unfamiliar environment around him. The morning sun rays shone on his face, almost blinding his eyes. Where on earth am I?” “Am I dead?” “Where am I?” He tried to get up but couldn't as his head ached so badly and he had sustained injuries all over, his clothes were completely torn. Making him look like a fugitive. He laid on the ground for some minutes, that's when the thought suddenly struck him. “What about my mother, Luna Emelda? Is she still alive? And if she is, where is she?” He combed the environment with his eyes looking out for Luna Emelda. Just as he was looking through the woods, Luna Emelda came out of the bushes with some leaves in her hands. Seeing Hector sitting up, she ran for joy and hugged him. “You're finally up son, I was scared you weren't going to regain consciousness so I went into the forest to get whatever kind of herbal leaf I can lay my hands on. How are you feeling son?” “Mother, I am fine.” There and then the realization that they were on the quest for solution before they were ambushed by those bandits hits him. “Mother, are we anywhere near the Lycan packs territory? Can we still make it to the Luna queen anniversary celebration?” “Relax Hector, let's worry about that after you are fully recovered. We need to be in good shape to attend the ceremony. Look at how we look Hector? Our dresses are all torn and we look so tattered.” “If we attend the ceremony looking like this, they might mistake us for beggars and throw us out. Why don't we go back and fix ourselves up before coming back. It doesn't have to be only on Luna queen's anniversary ceremony that we can ask for help.” “Mother, our looks don't matter now. Going back to our clan looking like destitutes will only shatter the ray of hope we gave them when we ventured on this journey. We've come this far to back out now.” “I must make it on time for the ceremony. Are you coming with me or not?” Hector asked as he started moving, not looking back to care if his mother would go with him or not. “Hector, wai–t.” Luna Emelda called out to Hector as she saw that he's already made up his mind to go on without her. “I'm coming with you.” She cried out as she ran to meet up with him. They continued their journey for hours non stop until they got to the entrance of the Lycan pack territory at long last. The whole place was crowded and noisy. It boomed with so much excitement as everyone was dressed in their best. Hector and Luna Emelda slowly peered through the crowd asking anyone at sight to help direct them to the palace. It took Hector and Luna Emelda a long while to locate the palace. They kept asking for directions to the palace but no one seemed to want to talk to them because of how bad they looked. Finally they got to the palace and of course, the anniversary ceremony had already commenced. They happily joined the queue outside waiting for their turn to be allowed in. But when it got to their turn, they weren't allowed to go into the hall by the guards because of how badly they looked. Hector tried explaining to the guards the terrible experience they had on their way to the ceremony and that it is very important that they see the queen but the guards didn't seem to care. They only asked them to go and come back well dressed. The heated arguments between the guards, Hector and Luna Emelda were already causing distraction as they were shouting on top of their voices. They've been held outside for a long time and if things continue this way, they may never be allowed until the ceremony is over. Desperate Hector dragged his mother, Luna Emelda, pushing past the guards and ran into the ballroom. They joined the guests in line to pay homage to the Queen. Hireath, who recognized the voices from outside, but waved it off as she least expected to ever cross paths with anyone from the Halo clan was beyond, shocked to see Hector and Luna Emelda in flesh and blood. Their presence reminded her of how much she suffered from an allegation she knew absolutely nothing about. The pains, the torment, the torture she undergo, and yet no one, not a single soul believed her. Her chest heaved and her eyes stung with gathering tears. Hireath fought so hard to hold back her emotions as her eyes brimmed with tears at the sight of them. Hireath thought of how she was unfairly treated and how she was powerless back then to do anything about it to prove her innocence. Furious and irritated by the presence, Hireath stood up and pointed at Hector and Luna Emelda with a loud shout she ordered that they come forward before her. “You over there come here this instance.” Every guest present was astonished at the way the queen called out to them. They've never seen her in this state of rage and fury. Hector and Luna Emelda came before Hireath and paid homage to her. “Where are your presents and why would you dare appear before my presence looking like filthy rags?” Hireath flared. Malakai, also lost by the queen's sudden change of attitude, held her shoulder trying to calm her down. “Your Majesty we are so sorry to show up before you looking like mere destitutes with no gift to offer to you but the truth is that we were ambushed on our way and we barely made it alive. We dare show up before you in this manner because we are desperate and in dire need of your help.” Hector explained and tears flowed down his eyes. Hireath could not stand the sight of Hector crying as it broke her heart. She knew how much Hector loved and adored her before their relationship got sour. Her heart was shattered just by the sight of Hector looking so hopeless and miserable. Hireath stood up from the throne. “I want you both to leave now!” She ordered. “There's nothing we can do to help you. I want you both gone this minute.” She said and walked out. Hireath ran to her chambers, shut the door and broke down in tears. Hector and Luna Emelda went on their knees begging Malakai to please help them speak to the queen on their behalf as the Lycan packs were the only hope for the Halo clan. Hector and Luna Emelda opened up to Malakai on the recent catastrophes that befell the Halo clan and that if nothing is done about it, it'll only be a matter of time before the Halo clan goes extinct for good. Malakai already touched and interested in Hector's case, asked the guards to take both Hector and Luna Emelda to a guest chamber pending when the queen will be in a better mood and they both figure out a way to help Hector and the Halo clan. Malakai went after Hireath as he is still trying to understand what made his queen for the first time ever not show concern to those in need of help. He knew there must be a reason for her to react the way she did. And whatever her reasons were, Malakai was willing to understand her and try his best to persuade her for them to both look into hector's case and find a way they can render help to them“Never! We'll never render any form of help whatsoever to them.”“Then what is the reason you're hell bent on not helping the Halo clan? Tell me your reasons, then maybe just maybe I'll understand.”“I have nothing else to say. Can we please not argue about this? I have my reasons and I don't want us to discuss this ever again.”Malakai now fuming with rage as Hireath has refused to give in to his pleas or tell him the reason for her abject refusal. It's the first time they've had conflicting opinions ever since they've been together. Malakai has been pleading with Hireath for days non stop but all his pleas seem to have fallen on deaf ears as Hireath had already made up her mind and there's no going back no matter how hard Malakai tries.“Hireath I've tried to be understanding but you're making this so difficult and I'm afraid I'll have no choice but to help them with or without your support.”“You'll do no such thing Malakai. If you truly love me then you should do as I've said. Are
“All rise to welcome the Queen!” the guard at the door announced her presence.Everyone at the throne room rose to their feet and made a bow to Hireath the queen. As Hireath enters the throne room her fragrance filled the atmosphere. Like the sweet fragrance of a blooming flower. Her fragrance made the mouths of everyone present watered like the warm aroma of a freshly baked bread. There was something so unique about the queen, Hector just couldn't figure it out. She seemed so familiar. He was just lost glancing at the queen. She really is who people say she is. An epitome of majestic beauty. She was just so familiar. But he had his doubts until Cobalt recognized her after a closer observation. “Hireath…?” He muttered to himself.“It can't be. It just can't be. How on earth did she become the Luna queen of the Lycan pack?”Never had he imagined coming in contact with Hireath ever again. But here she is in flesh and blood . Looking so graceful and angelic. Hireath looked like a godde
It was very early in the morning and Malakai was unusually up and sent for Hector. He wanted them to walk together and converse a little more. Malakai wanted both of them to spend some quality time away from everyone else to talk as men.“I was surprised when I learned you asked for me in the wee hours of the morning. I least expected such a sudden request from the Lycan King” Hector mumbled as he yawned, scratching his eyes as she was still feeling sleepy.“I'm sorry for this sudden summon. I know it's uncalled for but I just couldn't think of anyone else to spend the early hours of the morning with other than you”“I'm flattered you think so highly of me.”“I've been troubled lately and I guess it's the reason for my sleepless nights.”“What troubles the Lycan King?”“If I'm to be honest, I can't really pick out the exact cause for my worries. That is the scariest part of all these. Having a problem that can't be unidentified.”“It's okay to feel a little lost once in a while. But
“Oh there you are. What's the reason for this sudden morning walk, my love?” Hireath asked Malakai.“I'm so sorry for making you worry about me this early in the morning. I just couldn't sleep so I decided to go clear my head. Pardon my manners, my love, let me formally introduce you to our guest. His name is Hector, Alpha of the Halo clan.”“Hector, meet my charming and adorable wife, queen Hireath of the Lycan pack.” Malakai smiled as he introduced Hireath to Hector.“A pleasure to meet the queen. I'm so grateful for the love and hospitality you all have shown towards my mother and I ever since we got here. We are deeply indebted to the Lycan pack.” Hector stretched his hands to shake Hireath. But she rejected the handshake offer in a very cold way.“Oh don't bother. It's not like we're left with another option other than to help your already dead clan. And please I don't want you and your mother to get unnecessary comfortable during the period of your stay here. I'd love for you
“Thanks for the meal mom.” Harrietta gave her mom a peck on the cheek as she left the dining room.“Stop right there young lady. Where do you think you're going without giving this king his own very special kiss.”“Da–ddy. Awwwn here's a very special kiss for you. Muah.” Harrietta blew a kiss in the air.“Wait up Harrietta. Thanks mom, thanks dad. We'll be in our rooms getting ready to have the most remarkable day of our lives.”“Slow down you both. You just had your breakfast.” Harriet giggled as she found the kids amusing.“Let them be my love. Let's enjoy the few minutes they'll be in their room all to ourselves.”“We'll be down in a minute. Make sure to be done with your meal by them.” Harriet and Harrietta ran through the stairs to their chambers.“All that noise … These kids will never cease to amuse me. They always keep me so happy and I can't imagine my life without them.”Malakai reached out his hands and took hold of Hireath’s palm, caressing it until he gave it a soft kiss.
It was morning and Malakai was getting set for the meeting with Hector in regards to how they can help the Halo clan rise back to their feet and save them from further catastrophes and impending dooms.Hireath was still asleep. The morning sun ray made its way to her face and shone so brightly as though she were a goddess.Malakai for a moment lost track of what he was doing as he stared lustfully at his beloved wife and queen while she laid peacefully like an angel on the bed.“How blessed I am. Waking up to this beautiful sight every morning. As each passing day goes by, I find myself falling more intoxicatingly in love with this beautiful soul.”Malakai used his hand to remove some parts of Hireath’s hair that covered her face and kissed her on her forehead. Malakai stared at Hireath face more directly for a longer period of time.Hireath opened her eyes slowly as she caught Malakai completely lost in his loving gaze at her. From gazing into her eyes to a flashing big smile. One co
“It must have been so tough for you. I really don't know how to express how I feel right now. My words fail me. But in my honor as the Lycan King , I'll see to it that the Halo clan is well taken care of.”“We're indebted to the Lycan pack.” “I want you to assist in supervising the supplies that will be sent out. I want everything organized, mobilized and sent out with immediate effect. I see no reason for any delay. Put your mind at rest Hector. The Halo clan are in safe hands now.”“You indeed are a great king. May the moon goddess repay you and your pack for your kind gesture.”“Don't mention. I think you need to discuss this with your mother. Someone has to accompany the troop that will be sent out in a few days time. And she's in the best position to go with them, while you stay here as we proceed in our search for a solution. What do you think about it?”“It's a nice suggestion, Lycan King. I'll discuss it with her immediately when I go back to the guest chamber. Though I'd lov
Hector went up to his room still in shock and disbelief as he was trying to understand what his eyes just saw. “Why am I so bothered by this? But Hireath was accused of not being able to bear his children after five solid years of marriage but here she is married to another man with twin children just in the space of three years? This just doesn't sit right with me. Was she really guilty of taking the birth control herbs? If only there is a way for me to figure out the whole truth. Should I request an explanation from Hireath and damn the consequences?”“What am I thinking? How would I dare to request an opportunity to speak with her. Why should I just suddenly interfere into her already perfect life like I wasn't the one who ruined it in the past? But I deserve the truth, don't I? Even if I just get to hear it once from her. But how do I go about it?”Luna Emelda was already standing in the room staring at Hector, but he didn't even notice her presence as he was engulfed in deep tho
