chapter 17

The mood at the throne room becomes really argumentative and defiant. There is uproar as there is lots of shouting and noise because everyone was angry and upset about the story Hector and his mother, Luna Emelda told them.

There is a heated argument between those at the throne room. Majority were against the ex Luna queen and they blamed her for being the reason and cause of all the terrible happenings with the Halo clan while few were of the opinion that they hear her own side of the story before coming to a conclusion.

“The Halo clan have suffered a whole lot already. How much more will they have to suffer and the originator of the whole problem is living free somewhere. It really is unfair and it's on that note that I suggest we set up a search party that will be on the lookout for her with immediate effect.” The Gemma Lord suggested.

“How are we so sure, the Luna queen is only the reason for all these calamities. What if they're other reasons?”

“What other reasons could there be? What are you insinuating? Don't tell me you're trying to take side with such an abominable woman?

“Times like this require us to be patient so we do not just come up with drastic conclusions. I'd suggest we hear from both parties before figuring out what the next line of action should be. We've heard from Hector and his mother. Let's look for the woman in question and also hear from her. That way we can both balance the information from both parties and that way we can all come up with a fair and justifiable solution. That might be what the moon goddess expects from us.”

“We don't need to hear anything from a woman with such degrading history. The only thing we can all agree on here is that that woman needs to be brought out from whatever hiding place she is.”

Everyone kept up with their conflicting suggestions and opinions. Malakai listened to everyone carefully, trying to make out something tangible from all they were saying.

Hireath on the other hand was just enjoying the whole drama. She found it entertaining. Seeing Hector and Luna Emelda, his mother, playing the victim card in her presence was really the last thing she ever imagined but she was willing to see how far they'll go. “Are they going to reveal her as the ex Luna queen or what? What is the next game up their sleeve?” She wondered. Hireath decided to play along to see this whole ordeal to its very end. If Hector wants to play a dirty game, now she holds much power. She decided to teach him how to play better.

“Alpha Hector, do you have any information whatsoever that can help us in finding her out? I for one would love to see this woman who put you and your entire clan through so much.” Hireath asked.

Hector couldn't believe his ears when he heard Hireath asked him that question. This question blew him completely off his feet.

“What do I do? How do I answer such a question? Is she going to tell the truth? Is this really the end for me and the Halo clan?” Hireath's sudden question sent cold shivers down his spine. She was the last person he ever imagined would speak regarding this issue. But here he is stuck between the lines. How much worse can this situation get? At this point he was ready to give up on everything.

“The queen has asked a very important question. As expected our queen is so full of wisdom. You must definitely have a lead on how we can find her. Tell us.”

Hector was just gaping at them, lost for words like someone suffering from an aphasia disorder.

“I think this is a lot for Alpha Hector to process right now. Why don't we continue from here at the next meeting. It is obvious this is more than we imagined. But I'm glad we are making progress.” Malakai intervened as he could see the look of despair written all over Hector.

“The great seer, before we come to the end of the meeting, do you have anything you would love to say?”

“Everyone has all said well, my King. But it is very important that we find the woman in question. Finding her should be our utmost concern now. Maybe her presence may persuade the moon goddess to say something. We never can tell. I'm very sure the moon goddess will lead us to her. I'll take my leave now, my Lord.”

“You've done well Kayla. Pray to the moon goddess for her to direct us in the right path to take.”

The seer bowed in reverence to the King and queen as she took her leave. Hireath also left the throne room immediately after the seer. She has had an earful and could no longer bear the sight of Hector and his mother.

Hector's gaze went with Hireath as she left the throne room. He still hasn't said a word. He was lost in thought wondering what might be on Hireath's mind. He was scared to death.

“Alpha Hector, just like the seer has said. Take your time and think of how we can locate your ex Luna queen. At this point, she is the only way for the moon goddess to speak up. I promise to help with whatever it is that will help us in locating this woman in question. I give you my word, in my honor as the Lycan king.”

“Thank you so much for your generosity.” Luna Emelda replied. “Thank you all for not just showing but proving you all have our best interest at heart. We are so grateful and indebted to you all.” Luna Emelda said as she prostrated before everyone in the throne room. She raised Hector to his feet and led him out of the throne room.

“That'll be all for today. I'm grateful to you all for sacrificing your time. It shows I'm surrounded by the best subjects any ruler can ask of. And you all should know I don't take any of you or your efforts for granted.” Malakai appreciated everyone who attended the meeting as he got up from his throne and left the throne room.
