Hiraeth's Pov

“Never! We'll never render any form of help whatsoever to them.”

“Then what is the reason you're hell bent on not helping the Halo clan? Tell me your reasons, then maybe just maybe I'll understand.”

“I have nothing else to say. Can we please not argue about this? I have my reasons and I don't want us to discuss this ever again.”

Malakai now fuming with rage as Hireath has refused to give in to his pleas or tell him the reason for her abject refusal.

It's the first time they've had conflicting opinions ever since they've been together. Malakai has been pleading with Hireath for days non stop but all his pleas seem to have fallen on deaf ears as Hireath had already made up her mind and there's no going back no matter how hard Malakai tries.

“Hireath I've tried to be understanding but you're making this so difficult and I'm afraid I'll have no choice but to help them with or without your support.”

“You'll do no such thing Malakai. If you truly love me then you should do as I've said. Are these strangers trying to come in between the love and peace we share?”

Hireath asked as she couldn't fight back the tears she'd been holding.

“Oh no my love, please don't cry.”

“I'm sorry that we've been on this issue for days but I really wish I could tell you my reasons but–” Hireath let out a loud wail as it breaks her heart that her painful past had finally come back to haunt her after she had already forgotten all about it and had gotten a new identify and a new life.

“Not now, why now? When I've finally gotten peace and happiness. Now when I have everything I want at my beck and call.” She asked herself.

Malakai draws Hireath to himself and gives her a cozy bear hug. Malakai has never for once tried to hurt his beloved queen.

“My love I'm sorry that I've been pestering you on this issue but I haven't gotten peace ever since I heard about the Halo clan. I just can't explain it but it's been a heavy burden on my heart. And I know you to be the most caring and loving person. That is why I want us to come to an agreement to help them. I don't want to do anything without the support of my queen.”

Hireath at this point realizes that she can't keep up with this anymore. It's either she gives in or tells Malakai the whole truth about her previous life.

“Fine, helping them is the least thing I can do. What can possibly go wrong? She thought to herself.

She wiped her tears. “It's fine my love, let's help them in any possible way we can but promise me one thing.”

“What is it, my love?”

“That after helping them, they should never cross paths with the Lycan pack ever again. They should not try to form alliances with us.”

“Alright my queen. After this that will be all. We'll just help them bounce back from the catastrophic events that have befallen them and after that we end ties.”

“I know you are too nice a person to ignore people in dire need of help. This is why I love you and can't do without you. I love how we compliment each other. You will forever be my Luna queen Hireath” Malakai couldn't contain his joy as Hireath has finally given him her support to help Hector and the Halo clan.

But some part of him still feels bothered about why Hireath resented Hector and refused to help them. But he shrugged the thoughts off his head as he knew she had her reasons and would open up to him at her own convenient time.

Hireath all alone now in her chambers was lost in deep thoughts that she didn't notice Harriet and Harrietta come in.

“Is helping them the best thing to do. They deserve every bit of calamity that befell them for treating me with so much disdain.”

“Should I have held onto my refusal? But why is Malakai so interested in helping them? Why is he super interested in Hector's case among all the people that came to the Luna queen anniversary ceremony?”

“Mummy, mummy” they called out but got no response from Hireath.

“I hope it just ends here. I'll hasten Malakai to help them as soon as possible and have them gone for good.”

Harriet and Harrietta jumped on Hireath bringing her back to reality.

Hireath hugs them passionately.

“Mummy, are you okay?” Harriet asked.

“I'm fine now that you both are in my arms” Hireath said as holding her twin in her arms made her feel secure and wiped away all her worries.

“Mummy, we have visitors in the palace,” Harrietta said casually.

“Can we go with daddy to say hi to them?” Harriet asked.

“No no no, you are to stay far away from them.” Hireath sternly warned them.

“Mom but you taught us to be nice and kind to everyone including strangers and_” Hireath immediately cuts in.

“I know what I taught you, but you have to listen to me. Do not go near the visitors. I want you both to always be in your rooms. The visitors won't be staying for long. Please keep your distance from the both of them as they'll be gone from our life for good in no time. Do you both understand?”

“Yes mummy.” They chorused in unison looking downcast.

“Awwn… Don't give mummy those sad looks, my angels.” Hireath tries to cheer them up.

“Come here” she carries both of them on her lap.

Hireath loves and cherishes her kids as they were literally her whole world and existence.

It was then and there she knew she had to make sure they never cross paths with Hector because it would complicate her already perfect life. It's better the secret of her past life with Hector never comes to light.

There's a knock on her door from the head maid.

“Sorry to interrupt you, my Queen but his Majesty has asked for your presence.”

“Why, if I may ask?”

“His highness is having a meeting with the visitors and asked that you grace the meeting with your presence.”

“Alright, I'll be there. But before that, I want you to take Harriet and Harrietta to their chambers and on no account should they come out till the meeting is over and the guests are back in their rooms” Hireath cautioned the head maid.

“Yes my Queen. I'll do as you've said.”

The head maid leaves Hireath chambers with the kids.
